Shortie socks are the BEST!! I'm a slower sock knitter so shortie socks are my go to. And they're perfect for scrappy socks.

@@leslieridley8653 Scrappy Socks are socks knit using a bunch of different scraps of yarns or mini skeins. A great way to use up left over sock yarns. 😊

As a Floridian, I don't really own a lot of socks. I do have two drawers full of bathing suits though! When we wear socks, it's typically shortie socks so thank you for this video!

I love shortie socks, they are so fun especially as you can use only 50g for the main and then a contrast cuff, heel and toe.

I really enjoy your tutorials. They are so helpful. I'm doing a sock on 9" needle. Unfortunately, I have frogged it several times because I dropped a stitch on the cuff. But so far i'm doing ok.

I just finished my first pair of shorties for Summer Sock Camp in DK using mandi’s makings in “rose” colorway. Sooo squishy and comfy! I did just wing it after making your regular vanilla socks. They turned out perfect. Now I’m all about that DK so if you want to stock needles for DK I wouldn’t be mad at it 😊

While watching this, I decided to start shortie socks. 10 round cuff and maybe 5 round leg. Your videos always help with confidence in doing things different then how I would do socks 🥰🤗 I love your vanilla sock pattern. Still scared to try different patterns

I like doing shorities when I get yarn that my kids like too. I get a shortie socks and then one of them can get a pair. (They are young, so their socks are small).

Shortie or what I call ankle socks is all that I wear, my legs swell so the ankle socks works best for me year around. I would to knit these type of socks ❤️

I also prefer shorter socks and tried my first pair for Summer Sock Camp with the Vanilla Sock pattern. It went quickly and I was more motivated to finish the second sock for that reason. I love the fit.

Thanks SO much for this. Almost finished with sock mate and plan on next sock to be a shortie. Seems I’m mostly barefoot in summer, after a long Ohio winter, but when the AC kicks in my toes get chilled and this will keep them warm. Especially good for scraps or to try out a new yarn combo.

I only wear ankle socks - even in the middle of a frozen Northeast PA winter. I usually knit a 1” cuff then another inch before the beginning of the heel. Now I think I’ll try the 5 cuff rounds then 5 rounds before the heel. Love the look of those socks you knit! Thanks for the info Kay!

Thank you for that valuable information. I don’t wear tennis shoes much and I wear socks in the winter with sandals like Birkenstock in the winter. Short socks are perfect for some sandals too. Shortie socks are the only ones I have made. My family only likes the short ones. I have done the ribbed as well as no cuff. They are so fun to make. Great Christmas gifts.

Hi Kay, I'm watching this video because I'm knitting a pair of shortie socks using the Rose City Rollers pattern I found on Ravelry, it has a rolled cuff like the one you were just describing. It's my first time knitting socks and I'm using the 9" circulars. I'm at the point of starting the heel, and stalling, because I don't want to mess up, I started the sock in 2023, and changed my mind abou the ribbing, etc. I'm finishing these in 2024! Looking for a sock ruler with instructions.
