Well hot hurts for about 2 weeks and cold only for 1 hours the max and now they r not gunna get mixed with other horses or if something happens they can track the human bc of the brand
The horse is sedated. It's a very fast process that guarantees the horse won't ever be back in an abusive or neglected situation again. This brand is on record to a very large and well known rescue that is accredited through many programs.
FOA I am absolutely against iron branding, although I feel like I need to clarify something. When done properly, the horse is under local anesthesia (not all breeders do it tho) and with this type of branding they don’t feel the pain after a few seconds. They horse is stepping back, not because of the pain, but because to have a “good” marking you have to apply and insane amount of pressure, so the horse is just being pushed. I don’t like branding but if you have to do it, this method is far better than hot iron branding.
