I use a Garmin S 60 because it gives performance stats, GIR, Putts, fairways handicap and shot distance/ dispersion. I’m a senior golfer,77 and I can see my average distance off the tee has dropped but my percentage of shots in the middle has increased! This helped my with recent club purchases. Callaway Rouge Mav, lite and driver with lite, 40g shaft!
I just got this. First course I played I had to get them to add the course (a small 9 hole and it’s added now), and second course I played I left it in the car 😆 looking forward to trying it out!
Haha. I feel your pain.. I got the garmin fennix 7 then bruised my rib, couldn't play for weeks. Then as I was getting better i tampered with the watch (stupidly) and water got in it and broke it.. so I was back playing for a week with no watch.. they sent me a new one though and I'm loving it.
@@fourghtyeight48 that’s nice of them. I think it’ll really shine on courses I haven’t played. There always seems to be a random hazard or stream I can’t see from the tee 😅
I've got the Garmin approach s 60 and I love it 😀. Lots of info and stats. The only minus is that the touch screen is a bit "sluggish" or slow, but otherwise a really good product.
Coach- you made a comment earlier in the video that’s been on my mind for awhile. Since the watch doesn’t calculate scope, but I have a range finder that does, how do I blend the two? I want to know the front, middle and back numbers for the greens, but not sure how to work with both my watch and scope together in a round. Any advice on that?
I do love a good watch. Silicon straps can be both comfortable and sweaty… but I appreciate the usability of these “complications”. Great review Coach! Love good reviews on golf gadgets like these. I totally agree on the shape of the screen and the choice of a circular case… I’d much rather have it more compact if the screen isn’t maximized on the dial.
I use the V3, which is great apart from the strap. I have dropped my 5 iron thanks to it, since at 184 yards it was going all of 5 yards further on average than my 6 iron so what was the point of it? I've not decided yet what to put in as my 14th club. I am 8 handicap and thanks to Shot Scope I know that 90% of the difference between me and a 5 handicap golfer is on my driving, so i am hitting my 2 utility on more holes now since it goes 25 yards less far on average but hits the fairway more often and has very few bad misses compared to my driver. Of the greens I miss, since I hit a draw I was expecting more left misses but Shotscope says it is 7% left, 8% long, 8% right and 28% short - the short element is fine since my home course has 2 OOB less than 5 yards long on 2 holes, and some really nasty spots on others so on many holes I am playing for the centre of the green with a really solid shot and the front with a not so good one. Overall it's great! I might upgrade at the end of the season.
@@CoachLockey yes mate i sent mine back dosnt pick up tabs all the time Also switches itself off their customer servuces were good they recognise their is problems said had to wait for updates or a refund So went back to my garmin far superior and easier to use !!
Good review. Wish I got this instead of the X5. I really don't like the touch screen or the spinny clicking knob button. This seems so much better for my particular needs. @ShotScope Can I trade my X5 for two G5's? One for me one for a friend? ;)
