Still love my AW. May have the grab a sibling to go with it. But then that means another SPUHR mount, Nightforce ATACR, Atlas bipod, another set of competition reloading dies, selling my kidney....

hewlett260 AW is my fav gun. Ya it’s too bad these guns cost a mint otherwise they would line the walls!

Because you're some kind of "super shooter" and expect to "dual wield" two rifles at once and can't let them "share" a bipod and are simultaneously going to add another "caliber"? Laughing my ass off at the "precision reloading dies" comment given the fact that nobody seems to make "non-precision" dies, the "reloader" has way more to do with results than the hardware and Accuracy International's "accuracy guarantee" for at least the "AW" rifles is a laughable 1 MOA+ at 100 yards. 1.5 MOA sticks in my mind. Not surprising for a rifle with "quick-change" barrels you only need a Allen wrench to "swap". Which brings up the obvious question. Why don't you just add a "sibling" BARREL in another "caliber" to your AW? That "versatility" is/was the supposed real "value" of AI as a brand and AW rifles as a "family" supposedly justifying that ridiculous MSRP in the first place. Right?
@deeremeyer1749
@deeremeyer1749 5 лет назад
@@Pippinm7 If the performance came anywhere near matching the price they wouldn't "cost a mint" since they'd be "cheap" compared to a TRUE "custom" benchrest/competition rifle. Unfortunately, the factory "accuracy guarantee" is pathetic at 1.5 MOA and they won't outshoot the "cheapest" American "entry level" bolt-action "hunting" rifle/scope combos going for way under 10% the money with sub-MOA accuracy guarantees. They only cost a "mint" to "shooters" aware of how they perform compared to the "competition" and anyone who would have them "lining the walls" if they were only "cheaper" probably can't shoot well enough and/or isn't experienced enough to get any rifle to shoot well enough to make it "worth the money". In particular, those that shoot for "hits" rather than "groups" are poorly equipped to judge "value" vs. "price".

DEEREMEYER1 it seems that none of you realize that the AW is an old gun and that is 1.5 MOA at 100 yards with factory ammo in the freezing arctic. Most of these rifle companies are using match grade ammo rather than standard factory. My ASR shoots .25 MOA all day at 100 yards.

@@deeremeyer1749 who shit in your Cheerios, having more than one rifle doesn't mean anyone is dual weilding anything. As far as accuracy goes, I have yet to find anything that performs to the same level as consistently as the AI platform. And a hunting rifle will not outshoot an AI for 10% of the cost %99.9 of the time. My rifle and many others are 1/4 MOA rifles with minimal effort from the shooter. Also explain sharing a Bipod when the mounting setup is completely different. Most reloading dies are good for cranking out slightly better than factory ammo. Few will do it constantly. I have been reloading for two decades so I have my preferences. Instead of talking shit next time, just don't waste the energy. If you don't agree with someone else's preferences then move on.

@randoman75
@randoman75 5 лет назад
Justice9111 sooooo. You’re functionally illiterate. Got it.
@deeremeyer1749
@deeremeyer1749 5 лет назад
@Justice9111 Most "professional shooters" build or have built for them their own guns and themselves are "ambidextrous" because so few guns or parts called "ambidextrous" actually are. An "ambidextrous" gun or part is a "mirror image" of a "right-handed" gun or part just like an ambidextrous person can use both hands for some tasks "equally well". Never ALL tasks equally well unless they can't do anything "well" with their "strong hand" and are no better or worse with their "weak" hand. The only truly "ambidextrous" guns are break-action single-shot and double-barreled rifles and shotguns with exposed hammers and/or top tang release levers that "go both ways" and a small number of bottom-eject repeating rimfire rifles and shotguns with one "feature" in common. They were all "designed" by John Moses Browning for "sporting" use and in "competition" so that any "shooter" regardless of handedness or eye dominance could shoot "equally well" in the field and not be affected or have his/her shooting affect "neighbors" with empty cases flying arpund. And they were crucial to getting repeating rifles and shotguns "accepted" for "sporting" use. They are all pump-action and "high capacity" and remain the only truly "ambidextrous" repeating rifles and shotguns ever made and "acceptable" for competition, time sport-shooting events with multiple shooters on the firing line at multiple "stations" shooting simultaneously. The rimfire rifles are legendary "gallery guns" and the shotgun the only "legal" repeating shotgun for "sporting clays" or "skeet". It's called the BPS. Browning Pump Shotgun. And it puts all other "modern" pump shotguns to shame. Soldiers - even and especially "snipers" - are not "professional shooters" - because they don't make a living shooting and rarely have much if any say in their choice of hardware and are rarely "ambidextrous" given that even if "left-handed" they "learn" to shoot "right-handed" even if they have to "unlearn" shooting left-handed and shoot "against" their eye dominance to do it. Which is usually the case since eye dominance is usually "opposite" handedness. Any "shooter" who "has" to close their "off" eye to shoot and especially with a long gun, is shooting "against" his/her eye dominance and shooting with the "right" eye but the "wrong" hand is way better, easier and more "natural" than shooting with the wrong eye but the right hand. And a shooter who does the former is way more "ambidextrous" than a shooter doing the latter.

"Tripods are the future" for tactitools who can't hit shit with a bipod much less "offhand" and think just one more leg is the "solution" to a fundamental lack of coordination, experience, skill, talent and ambition. Which are all necessary before "training" can accomplish anything.
@8541tactical
@8541tactical 5 лет назад
Sorry brother, but you are dead wrong on this one. A tripod is a critical piece of gear for a working sniper and many precision rifle competitions have stages that would be almost impossible without a tripod for support. The first time I shot from a tripod was in training in my Scout Sniper platoon several decades ago. They have now worked their way into the LE world and are mandatory for the modern battlefield.

Since when are "sniper rifles" part of the commercial/private/sport shooting, hunting and outdoor "market" and why should any American by a "sniper rifle" from a country with ridiculously restrictive anti-"weapon" laws that not only "ban" most guns and particularly a major portion of U.S.-produced SPORTING GUNS but also "weapons" like pocket knives, multi-tools with knife blades etc? I can't think of a single reason to send U.S. dollars to anti-"arms" foreign countries and their "private" arms-manufacturing companies producing "sniper rifles" for private ownership in a "gun crazy" country like the U.S.

You, sir, seem to have a particularly large chip on your shoulder for some reason, and an abundance of ignorance to go with it. I was stationed in the UK for almost 10 years, owned a bunch of rifles and shotguns there, and hunted with them frequently. I also carried a leatherman multi-tool with a knife blade every single day with no issues, not to mention a collection of larger hunting knives when I went hunting. Their gun laws are strict, but very fair, and as a result they have almost zero gun crime. Basically, everything you said is an outright lie. If you have a strong sense of patriotism and only want to buy U.S. arms, then just say that. There's no need to lie about other countries and the arms they produce. In point of fact, our own USSOCOM forces use Accuracy International arms extensively, because they're some of the best made arms in the world. That's not an opinion, it's a fact. As for your comment about sniper rifles, every hunter/shooter using a rifle with a scope on it is essentially using a "sniper rifle." Sniper rifles are simply high-precision rifles, typically with a scope, designed to hit a given target with accuracy. And, in point of fact, the first recognized sniper rifle was developed by the British in 1854. Their popularity and appeal to shooting enthusiasts is obvious: They are fantastic weapon systems capable of extreme accuracy and range, allowing those who use them to test their skill, improve and challenge themselves in every aspect of shooting, and to enjoy every moment of it. Everyone has a preference, but your preference doesn't mean everyone else is wrong.

DEEREMEYER1 UK is one of the largest if not the largest weapons manufacturers in the world. Furthermore the rifles inventors and company owners were avid target shooters and riflemen, it’s now the company was created. You do have the option not to buy, but you are also happy for the UK to share arms technology with the USA whilst the UK also support and buy arms from American companies, is it not somewhat hypocritical of you to insist the UK buys USA arms whilst saying your USA tax dollar is more important than a UK pound!
@stevewilson4514
@stevewilson4514 4 года назад
You sir are articulate, but not well informed, trained, or an objective thinker. People who buy rifles of this quality do so because they are an excellent weapon. Excellent in design, quality, and performance. They don’t allow your prejudices to be apart of their decisions. As for the ignorant tripod post. From an LE / Military sniper point of view, most of the time you probably won’t be able to shoot off of a bipod due to the terrain, or other factors. And firing from an unsupported off-hand position is not an option. Typically you’ll have to be set up with the weapon on target for long periods of time, which make unsupported positions impractical. From a competition standpoint, tripods are routinely used in PRS type matches. You’ll note that I did not mention anything about hunting. While they can be useful for stationary / stand type hunting you probably won’t see many hunters using them due to the cost, and fact that it’s one more thing they have to carry. Here’s a closing thought: To those of us who use these things for professional reason, or competitive purposes; both of your posts make you look like a douche bag. Congratulations 👍🏻
