Guys, please remember, this IS the MILITARY ARMS channel, he's going to show us some things that only the military can get their hands on. Sturm is doing a great job as always, and personally I LIKE the new intro. So you had to sit there a few extra seconds, you know you CAN skip the intro, right?
"It's the only gun that can have a barrel change as quick and as simple as you see here" Well that's not entirely true: the AUG had that funky handle switch.
I hope it's better built than the CX4,mine broke first time out.Bought a new SCAR and it had an defective barrel traded it for an ACR which works flawlessly.
for the select fire variant about 700 RPM the same as most M16/M4s. and the civilian version (which is coming) as fast as you can pull the trigger (unless slide fire makes a bump-fire stock for it)
This rifle is a great design and fully ambidextrous... This A2 version lookes better than the first one, although the polymer lower rail divides me... Also, for those who like it and would like to see it on TV series, it was shown twice now on the last NIKITA Season 2 episodes, especially the last Friday's episode... Check it out...
Hmm very interesting gun. Ive seen it before but the desert tan version shown was very appealing. With all of its features i would buy one of these before the ACR. Just a side note...He said it was self lubricating, they also said the M16 was self lubricating when it first came out. I will beleive it when i see it, but great rifle none the less.
@MrLoveslittlekids If you mean small length, he said it was the CQB barrel, if you mean thickness then you didn't get a good enough look, it has a medium thickness barrel all the way through. Also the handguard thins out towards the bottom where you'd be placing your hand.
Very nice, don't see it replacing in the civi market the AR/AK, but definitely should give at least the ACR a run for the money. Either way looks good.
I very much liked what I hear with regards maintenance and lubrication. I think battlefield tools should if at all possible need very little kid gloves and tedious maintenance. Simple, stout, practical and reliable..I guess time will tel. My only small gripe I suppose is that Italians seem to over stylize items to a point that it adds mass and volume where they might have saved..I dont think guns need to look 'swoopy'..but so long as it works as advertised..
Ya I think most international company's have realized for some time the need to have US based operations and assemblies. The proposed ban is the greatest threat to all that industry and our individual rights.
I saw on another site the rep said it will be in the US in 1.5 or 2 yrs (civilian version). However, if king Obama signs on to the ATT and its ratified in March then importation will be banned. Yet, if Beretta USA makes it here I guess we have a chance, unless the AWB2 passes.
@5687678 It does. However, I think Beretta has put its prototypes through some serious testing. Beretta has good rep and I don't see why they would screw it up. This could actually be something that many people have been waiting for. I am really waiting to hear how it turns out accuracy wise.
@MrSNIPERRecon Its shot show they tend to show weapons that are LE/MIL only and considering today's economy and weapon advancements its completely understandable
Basically we need an American company to produce a similar rifle :) BTW about the polymer design, I thought people complained about the G36 being polymer? How does this rifle not have the same issues? (I know the complaints about G36 seem to be exaggerations but is there validity? If it was a solid idea then why are there not more all-polymer rifles?)
@Everett07630 yep, and trying to get anything out of US is much harder than countries in Europe, Canadian firearm dealers have been buying H&K straight from Germany even though its $150-$300 more (because its easier to export), They tried it with FN SCAR, but apparently Belgium doesn't make FN SCAR, only FN USA.
I want to say that this appears to be the perfect rifle, wonderfully designed.. But I'm really biased against the chunkyness of it and how it just looks toyish and dumb IMO. If I got the chance to shoot one though I'd probably start to like it.
@MrSNIPERRecon Well I hope it does but to be honest I dont think it will sell in America well, especially with its massive forend. To me the ACR is not made the way its suppose to but that SCAR is just amazing.
@MrSNIPERRecon -- Beretta, you said at Shot 2011 it would likely be out in 4th quarter 2011 NOW its 2 years out. While I appreciate you not leading us on with another "comeing soon" msg, it's hard to hear year after year "This is a great gun, but you can't have it." Make it available or stop talking about it.
Holy hell could they have made that forearm any bigger in diameter? talk about building a rifle that goes the opposite direction current shooting techniques.
It will be illegal for us to own before it's ever available...I hope not...but you never know. It's happened once already. Join the NRA and vote accordingly so maybe we can own this rifle one day.
