This video deserves so much more attention. Before this video I barely knew what key framing was and now I’m confident enough to use it in my video edit
With regard to the questions about adding a transparent track, what I ended up doing in my Shotcut version 19.12.31 was to click on the "Open Other" dropdown on the ribbon and choose "Text". Typed in my text, Added a track to the timeline. Then dragged that text window into the empty track. This avoided the need for a transparent.png.
Thanks for this little tutorial. This has been driving me nuts today and all I had forgotten to do was click on the little clock button. Now my graphic moves and resizes just brilliantly...

@@AbhijitNavare I actually started a video on audio filters. Maybe I'll finish working that one out. I use audacity to edit my audio and shotcut to balance audio levels.

Hello Gamesodes, I just stumbled across this video and I wanted to thank you for showing this. The way I did this before was to use rotate and scale filter on the whole clip, place,, it'' in the right place, move the white bar a little, cut, repeat. You made this very easy and I wanted to thank you for that. Love ya ♥️
This video is so helpful. I really wanted to know how to make text move in a video but all the videos I found were for premiere pro but I’m glad I found this on shortcut considering that’s what I use to edit. Thank you for uploading !!!!!
Awesome guide mate, bloody lifesaver. Used to create moving text by moving it frame by frame which is a real pain in the arse. Never looked at keyframes. Thanks for this.

Agreed! I think you'l find that's because the majority of YT visitors are here to look at cats & cucumbers, crazy weather and young girls shuffle-dance.. Your content is excellently structured & presented, you should consider touting your wares to Udemy, Brilliant, Skillshare etc.

Your videos are great! Thanks. I'd like to add something to help others who may have had my issue trying to do this. At first when my object was at the bottom of the frame the central control dot and frame edges were no longer visible so I was unable to have the object leave the frame like yours did. The user interface makes the frame edges and control dot disappear when out of frame! I eventually realised it was due to the fact my PNG object had lots transparent space around it. Once I deleted this and save the png crop very close to the object I regained full control of it. It's these kind of details that are often missing in videos. Keep up the good work, looking forward to more Shotcut...
I wanted to do something like this in my tutorials videos. Thanks a ton, mate. Now, I will be able to use this animation for highlighting or pointing something with the help of an arrow or do other such kinds of stuff.
This is a great tutorial. Now i can make stuff follow players around annoyingly without them knowing because it's in the editing phase, not recording >:)

@@Gamesodes I switched to Hitfilm, but unfortunetly I got some sort of error which even the support team could not fix, and then I got Filmora, which was a bit too much too difficult for me so i left that, and then when I saw your video I decided to come back to shotcut
