Those buttons that you see to the left of the zoom buttons are buttons for those easy keyframes. The [ ] buttons are to set the start and end of the filter. That's another way of setting exactly when you want an effect to to start and end in a clip instead of actually splitting the clip up. It's also useful if you add filters to a whole track but don't want it to affect the whole track and only a certain section of it. The next two buttons which are { } are actually the buttons for the easy keyframes. When you press one of them it sets the easy keyframe to wherever the playhead is so that way you don't have to drag it around. Also, the [ ] and { } are also the shortcut keys so you can just press those on your keyboard and it will set them automatically. If you want to reset the easy keyframes back to the start point, you can just go to the circle and double click on it. 🙂
I'd say it really depends on your hardware as when I'm editing and I have effects/filters especially on 4K, there's lag. But once you have final exported file, it's all good.
In version 20.11.28 this has changed to Size Position Rotate. For Zooming the option to open individual keyframe adjustment tracks with wave form visualization is missing. Instead there is a one dimensional grouped adjustment and it seems like the smoothing is not working. Hopefully this is just an oversight and the detailed adjustments will be back next version ... Please!
how do i make the play back speed the same like it slows it down when i zoom in i have an audio file under it as well but it makes the audio slow down as well how do i fix it to where my audio is normal.
I have 29.9.27......under filters there is no scale rotate filter, only size-position-rotate, which I could not get to zoom at all after I opened the key frames. It looks like it should be so much simpler, but I just couldn't get it to work. 🤔
@@GeekoutdoorsBrand have you found any particular version which is more user friendly than the others? Something I've been trying to figure out is the video I have lined out, which I made an exported from shotcut, is choppy when playing it after I bring it back into shotcut to do more editing. If I do what I'm doing with it and export it again, it will play perfectly smooth and fine when I play it in another media player like Windows Media player, but when I bring it back into shortcut frames just seem choppy even though I've tried the automatic setting and matched it to the properties of the video for frames per second, which seems to be the best, but still choppy. It's misleading because it makes me think the video is going to end up like that but it doesn't. 🤔🤔🙄 All though more than likely it's probably the user....,..😉
@@GeekoutdoorsBrand I was able to zoom in and out multiple times with one filter and spplying keyframes. It took a while to wrap my head around it. Thanks for the great video btw. Do you have anything on how to handle high resolution (4K) videos? So far I can only know how the video looks after exporting and I'm trying to see if I can get shotcut to edit them in realtime
keyframes don't show up to me at all, i feel like the universe is trolling me so hard. I keep clicking the upper button (because the bottom one won't show up too) but it just doesn't work... help?
That's so weird! Did you also try going to the top and choosing Views > Keyframes (CTRL+7)? If that still doesn't work, then I'm not sure myself beyond trying to reinstall Shotcut.
Hmmm there might've been changes to Shotcut since I made this video and things aren't exactly the same. I've already seen features removed like Text HTML and also things changed like Size, Position, Rotate since I made this video.
Yeah there were updates to software since I made this video so the new filter is size, position and rotate so you'll have to play around with that filter but the basic principles are still the same.
Oh you'll probably have to use the Advanced Keyframes option. I did a tutorial on Shotcut Keyframes below if needed: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-iPp19AmBSO4.html
Hmm that's weird that your filter tab is greyed out. Might want to try to reinstall Shotcut or try on another machine if available to see if you get the same problem.
(Solved) What if you what to start fully zoomed (1000%) in and the graduately zoom out to about 140%? I could achieve that out-zooming by used move the right key-picture to the left side. But I can not achieve that it stops zooming out at 140%, it always goes to 100%. Why is shotcut so stupid? Why it is not as simple as, rightclick on left key-picture, and settings all values like pos and/or zoomlevel, and then right click on the right key-picture and set other values like pos and/or zoomlevel, and the shotcut is linearly change all values over time from the defined values on the left to the defined values on the right? I would be so much clearer than this nonsense. EDIT: Sorry, for my post. It was not Shotcut, but my limited knowledge about Shotcut. I could figure it out, by not trying to set values for the left and right / green and red bars, BUT with real use of key-pictures. Of course Shotcut exactly provides, what I was looking for. Key-pictures can be defined, by just clicking on the key-pictures symbol in the setting area, and then you will get a new time line, where key-pictures can be created, moved or deleted. And for such a key-picture all the position and zoom values can be set. So it was totally ease to define starting with a zoom-level of 1000% and linearly zoom out to the level of 140% as I wished. Sorry, for posting before really got familiar with Shortcut. Great tool!
Sure thing Valerian glad you figured out a solution. Definitely takes time to learn the editor and most importantly, how to make it work for your needs.
There might've been software updates since I made this video so you might need to do additional research on things that don't look the same as in my video.
