Trek with me to the Volcanic Tableland near Bishop, California. We will visit an ancient petroglyph site where we will see evidence of gunshot vandalism.
I’ve been to this site a few times over the last 30 years and I feel like every time I go it looses something. I saw the bullet holes last time 😢 they may have been there along time but no matter it’s sad that people disrespected such treasures
Don’t focus too much on such a small point in time, one day long from now archaeologists will be equally fascinated by the bulletholes as we are the glyphs, there were people before us and there will be people after.
i really love your channel. i live in seaside and i'm always wondering what's hiding in the wilderness of monterey county. i know there is some great stuff in the mountains n what not, even in pebble beach, pg, of course big sur. thank you for bringing light to the ancient monuments
The amount of artwork from native peoples in this area is incredible, and thanks to you for showing us these sites. It’s a shame to see how people vandalize them. I visited the Fish Slough petroglyphs again this August which appeared in your video on the ancient Paiute camp and it was saddening to see how worn down the petroglyphs were, and how the stone foundations of the native houses were unrecognizable, it was odd to see, a stark contrast to your film over a decade ago. Yet your content can help us revisit these sites and remember them how they were, sort of like a time capsule.
Thank you, Alex for this petroglyph art site video. Such haunting music that is titled “The Music You Hear when the Valkyries Carry You to Valhalla.” The music suits the imagery very well as the damaged art rock memories are carried off, as some ignorant person targets the ancient stones.
Thanks alex.i think so much of this is astronomy and what they saw in the skies during cataclysms, unusual sky events.fascinating.terrifying.the music you chose accompanies the subject of the video very well.thank you
}----------------> I find the destruction caused by the shotgun blast as adding insult to injury . A beautiful place yet sad. Thank you Alex, I do appreciate your work on finding these places and sharing them. This is the first time I've felt, to this extent, sadness and anger at what happened to our people . Though I am mixed races so maybe I have no right to feel this way.
.. thank you Alex, for your great work in finding and preserving important history... I still think about your beautiful videos of the p l a i n of jars in the Golden Triangle.. making these videos took courage.
Disrespectful and insulting to those people who made that beautiful art. I hope I can visit the site, soon. Thank you sir for showing these beautiful sites🙏 stay safe
The vandals surrendered 1400+ years ago, but still modern day vandals practise what they do best. ....I observe. Sad! Thank you for sharing this fine video!
Hey alex. Just want you to know I love your vids, please keep making more. Did you notice that some of these symbols are egyptian? And that others are norse? I think that's cool how people are more connected than we are led to believe.
When man has cut down the last tree, poison the last river , carved the last mountain and caught the last fish , he will then know that money can not be eaten....
DANTHMAN, thanks for watching the film. My guess is that its a nickname for the site because the primary petroglyph boulder had been shot at several times....................alex
I would argue that perspective comes from a place of ignorance. Ignorance to a violence in the world, exiting far beyond the invention of gun powder. For example, warring tribes. It''s human history. Guns are simply the tool used currently.
