Shotokan Karate Hyakuhachiho - Arai Sensei - original footage 

Hi there, Thanks for your comment. This is the Japan Karate Shoto Federation (JKS). The JKS was formed by Asai Tetsuhiko Sensei. Based out of Tokyo, the JKS has branch Dojos throughout Japan and the world. This Kata is Hyakuhachiho and it is a derivative of the Kata Suparimpei, however, in the method of Shotokan. I do not know much about the history of the "Shotokanization" of this Kata, however, I learned it from my Instructor in the USA, Sensei John McClary, who leaned it from Koyama Sensei.

is this JKA? I have never seen this kata before. But i do realise it is a shotokan version of Suparimpei
