Honestly one of the big reasons that shao dow isn't growing that much is because he doesn't release videos consistently. I mean he probably has life and focuses on other things outside of youtube instead. But I can guarantee you that one of the main reasons the big players in the scene exploded, besides luck of course is that so many of them released a song every single week for over a year, (that's insane and I get why most people don't do that) and the bigger they already were the harder they snowball. I remember when most of these guys where sub 50k and it wasn't that long ago for some like divide for example who has 200k+ now

@@nooby165 I agree but I think in general the above comment's also true, and this doesn't apply to just Shao Dow. Cyphers generate a lot of views but 95%+ of that just goes to the channel that releases it. The vast majority of people just don't bother to actually go to the artist' pages.

it definetly isnt more productive to make regular songs instead of cyphers for rustage. his cyphers make waaaay more money but the other dudes see none of it

@@blasianking4827 true on the other hand I believe that most of the big guys in nerdcore split the profits from cypherers and features on a procentage basis between the artist so they all get constant "recidual royalty" on the views on both spotify and youtube instead of a 1 time lumpsum. Because that is more money for the features in the long run Let's take the Hokage rap cypher Rustage made for example it has 18 million views, and Rustage unlike someone like Ariana Grande or Eminem doesn't have a lable that takes idk 80-95% of the profit for themselves. So Rustage gets way more in personal profit per view and stream then the label stars get. I know for a fact that Rustage is a multi millionare because of Nerdcore, unless he throws away money faster then most people can spend them of course. Getting on a popular cypher on the Nerdcore scene pays bills especially if you on your own channel barley get views so at least in terms of making bread Cyphers and live streams I guess, is king

Well rustage releases every second week on Friday at the same time i isn’t that hard to keep up with his schedule I think daddyphaysnaps releases every week on Sunday at different times but he releases on his posts like a few days before and Dizzyeight also releases a comment on his RU-vid to tell you when a song is releasing it is very easy to keep up

@@collinlawyer81 Is it though? Obviously, it’s still a song. It has music and lyrics. But what is a cypher? You take a repetitive background track, send it out to a bunch of people to make a short verse and splice everything together to make it sound good. There is no hook, there isn’t enough time for any single artist to do anything really interesting with flow switches and there isn’t enough time in each verse to delve any deeper into a show/character beyond the surface level. Don’t get me wrong, I love cyphers, but to say that musically they’re in the same level as a regular track, I don’t think that’s the case. They are simple. Simple can be fun. Simple can be hype.
