I met Kina in Okinawa City in late 1988. He invited a friend of mine and me to a party celebrating the opening of a coffee shop called Gaia (being opened by a family member). He didn't even know us before the invite. A genuinely nice guy.

I was living in Nara in the first half of May 1994, and visited Todaiji twice. I would've dearly loved to see this concert. 💖

The singer in that version is Tomoko Kina. On the tape was one of those Swedish "world music programs", and the version I linked was on that, the program recorded in 1992 (as the DJ said on the tape)
