I quit smoking (44 years) by using the pouch. I knew there would be issues with the other aspect of smoking unknown triggers, hand to mouth habits, planning to not run out of cigarettes, drinking, and social cues. So, I had two pouches and bought hemp cigarettes. Instantly, I have not had a bit of interest in smoking a cigarette 0! Because the hemp cigarettes tend to be harsh, I very seldom feel the need to smoke them and i smoke them like one would smoke a cigar. After three months my lungs are clear I don't stink, my house and car doesn't stink. I started with 6 or 8 mg and have been tapering down to 3 and 4mg doses. I cannot believe in two hours i completely banished cigarettes from my life. I had tried everything and this is working. I hope others get this message.

I smoked from 14 to 30. I vaped to get off cigarettes and used zyns to get off vapes. Out of all three zyns in my opinion have far less negative side affects.

I got addicted to them. I've gotten off and withdrawal was rough. In moderation like 1 or 2 a week. I think it's fine. The performance enhancement isn't worth the addiction

I really appreciate the honest and well thought out answer to this question. I wish more content discussed the risks and benefits of choices we make and is honest when the research just simply hasn't been thoroughly conducted yet. Would you be able to make a video discussing the differences in risk between coffee and zero calorie/sugar energy drinks? Specifically for someone trying to improve performance on long overnight shifts?

@GDSchaefer, thanks for the feedback. I'm gonna dig into the coffee vs. energy drink issue, stay tuned for the video!

Thanks for the video! Lots of great info on nicotine. I would like to note that while the total nicotine content of a cigarette is 10-14 mg/cig, most of it is not inhaled or absorbed. It is more along the lines of 1.2-2 mg per cigarette that is inhaled and makes it to systemic circulation, so the total content of the pouch is more in that sense, but considering the first pass metabolism through buccal absorption, I think the 3 mg pouch will deliver the total systemic nicotine content of a typical cigarette.

I've gone a month without smoking thanks to nic pouches. Nothing else worked for me to quit. Didn't think I'd ever be able to.

Great video! But I must point out that you said that Zyns have less nicotine than cigarettes at 1:33 . This is technically true, but only around 1/10 of the nicotine in each cigarette can actually be absorbed in the body. The EU has a law banning cigarettes that have more than 1mg of nicotine, but that is measured in the absorbable «free nicotine». Nearly all of the nicotine in nicotine pouches can be absorbed, but it is released over a longer span of time, so the effects aren’t felt as strongly using a Zyn pouch as a cigarette.

Nicotine, like all alcaloids actually gets into your body VERY easilly, in fact you get nicotine just by smelling it, which is why people who smoke cigars and cigarettes take a small sniff first, before litting a cigar or cigarette, since smell is only way to tell what things taste like and nicotine just happens to be one of those things, which makes you physically ill, if you take it mixed with flavors you don't like.
@Kilzu1
@Kilzu1 3 месяца назад
Also you can't even compare nicotine pouches to smoking, since way nicotine gets to your body is different. When you smoke cigarettes, it takes a while for nicotine to have any effect, when you smoke cigar, it hits like a mule (especially if you inhale the smoke, since cigars are pure tobacco and don't contain chemicals, which slows down the whole nicotine effect) when you take nicotine pouches, it literally drills a hole into your gum and nicotine is released straight to brains which is why nicotine pouches can pack quite a punch. Now if you want to use nicotine pouches, go ahead, but don't fool yourself or anyone into thinking, that taking nicotine pouches has no health risks. Nicotine can cause increased blood pressure, heart problems among some effects on brain receptors and that's what too much nicotne does, basically it does something to your body, which leads to point where you can't breathe and suffocate. That is why it is next to impossible to accidentally take lethal dose of nicotine, since you get gag reflex, nausea, uncontrollable vomiting and pass out after taking not even half of the lethal dose of nicotine (which btw is about 1gram).

Don't do it. As a former military dental assistant, I have seen the terrible effects of the ' Deployment Diet ' of Rip Its and Dip

Dip is tobacco, and has nothing to do with a zyn pouch.

It STILL causes gum recession. Not nearly as bad as dip, Redman chew or smoked tobacco. Zyns can be thought of as harm reduction.

They come out with nicotine pouches...nicotine is pretty safe except it causes horrible gum recession. They decided to use ACESULFAME Potassium as a sweetener ...it hasn't been tested enough to be considered "safe." Can enhance tumor growth and stomach issues (heartburn). These pouches would be safe if they didn't dump ACESULFAME into them! It's probably way worse than nicotine or tobacco. They get you coming ..and going. They need to add crap that'll kill you or cause tooth loss due to holding nicotine against your gums for hours.

jesus christ dawg no. acesulfame potassium is completely fine compared to fucking nicotine. You're completely delusional

Here is an anecdote of the risks of nicotine pouches: I live in Norway, where nicotine pouches, and the similar tobacco pouches known as «Swedish snus» have been widespread among youths for decades. There are many brands on the Norwegian market, and the nicotine strength of these can be as high as 50mg per pouch, but most people thankfully stay below 20mg (which is definitely too much for me). Since the age of 17, I became more and more addicted to nicotine pouches, and after two years, I was going through roughly 12 pouches of 13mg/pouch nicotine strength daily, in addition to drinking around 4 (pretty big) cups of coffee daily. Then one day, as a 19-year-old man with no known health complications, I had an episode of an extremely high heartbeat. (I think it’s called tachycardia?) I measured my pulse at more than 200 BMP, and freaked out, calling the emergency number, fearing for my life. The lady at the emergency central told me it was not an emergency, and that I should go to the doctor (I never did 🙊). After that, I was much more cautious about my nicotine and caffeine consumotion, and it has never happened again. A while after this episode, I heard from a friend that she had also experienced the exact same thing, and at a party, I learned that this was a phenomenon that people knew about. I still have no idea how serious this is, or what exactly causes it, but it definitely lights up a red flag about nicotine consumption for me.

I would like to note here that nicotine induces; or accelerates the enzyme that metabolizes caffeine. Which means you will need more caffeine more often to see the affects because the nicotine makes your body break it down quicker

Aren’t insecticides harmful to humans in general? Wouldn’t nicotine be safer to use in agriculture?
@Brandon-yq1tm
@Brandon-yq1tm 2 месяца назад
Pretty much, but you can't really put a trademark on something on nicotine and control the sale of it such as you can on Monsanto's Round Up, which does cause cancer. But who cares about that as long as you are making a profit.
@gwhizz8922
@gwhizz8922 Месяц назад
Yes, nicotine is safer than modern insecticides. In fact, most vegetables have nicotine in them. Eggplant veggies have the highest content. It is a natural protection for the plants from insects although some insects are immune to the nicotine.

Not if you're a smoker or a vaper. It's a great alternative.
