He is puzzled how someone's grooming preferences could lead to comments about being gay when being gay means liking the same sex!?!? Or that commenters think that calling someone gay is an insult. Aren't we over that? It blows Alpha's mind!
Alpha says that a Men's Health 600 men poll said that 33.1% of men trim hair and 15.3% completely shave their legs. That's nearly 50% of men managing the length of their leg hair. Now 28.5% of women like a man who trims his leg hair and 22.2% like a man with clean shaven legs. Once again, it's split down the middle.

Since high school I always shaved my private area but never did anything with my arms, legs, chest, or stomach. I am now a police officer and I can say this...I decided one day to shave everything and my next tour of duty I worked a car accident in 110 degree weather on the hot asphalt highway. I did not sweat even with all my bulletproof vest and everything. I felt great and have been doing it ever since. It literally keeps me a few degrees cooler in the summer.

I'm naturally hairy, and have always been grossed out by it, and self conscious. I got into triathlon and cycling a few years back and made the plunge in shaving my legs, chest and arms. Feels great, and don't think ill ever be sasquach again. My wife doesn't particularly care for it, but I was so self conscious about it, I'm hopeful some day she'll be ok with it.

I started trimming today, I’m 17 years and was really insecure about my leg hair since 2018 cause all my friends had less or none hair while mine were hairy af. My ex-girlfriend didn’t mind my legs, but I felt insecure even though she didn’t mind it. So when we broke up after 2 years I decided to look for a trimmer and to be honest, it feels great and I’m more confident about myself. I didn’t want to shave cause I do like having a bit of hair instead of shaven legs, but to anyone who isn’t sure what to do, just try it and see for yourself!

@@matthewsaid7833 I personally haven’t felt any discomfort when trimming my legs. I’m 18 now and still do it once every 2 to 3 weeks. When you use a trimmer, you can clip the desired length (if yours has clippers). I do not shave because girls in my class like guys with (a bit) of leg hair, because shaving is “girlish” they said. But that ofcourse depends how girls think in your area. Hope I helped you out!

I trim and sometimes even shave my leg hair because, it keeps me cool in the summer, jeans feel so good, and I can wear heavily distressed jeans without awkward hairs poking out of the holes.

I’m a cyclist and I finally decided to shave my legs because of the massaging lotion doesn’t get all gross mixing with my leg hairs. For other reasons I shave now is because it’s more comfortable wearing Lycra, lowered chances of ticks getting on my legs when I’m mountain biking on trails, more aerodynamic, a right of passage into the tribe of road and cyclocross cyclists, I like the way my fresh clean bed sheets feel on my shaved skin, shaved legs help your skin heal better from road rash after crashes and it’s easier to clean the wounds, keep the wounds dry, and easier to apply and remove bandages. Finally it’s easier to show off my hard earned big quads, calfs, gluteus Maximus, and hamstrings. I shave my chest and lower abdomen because the hair doesn’t look full enough to look good. I do not shave my arm hair. That’s going too far. If I wasn’t a cyclist I would see no reason to shave. Some women said they like my shaved legs and asked if they could feel them. It was positive attention. Lastly, if I were to be lined up at the start line in a Cyclocross race or road race with hairy legs, the other cyclists would look at me like I’m in experienced and I would feel like an out cast. My first time trying on Lycra bib shorts before I began shaving my legs, they looked like a ware wolf was trying them on at the local bike shop, lol! Plus the leg grippers on the shorts pulled on my hairs above my knees. That was pretty uncomfortable.

Ma Doods! 9mm trim is my favorite, but I have light colored leg hair, not dark. You can still see the hair, but it thins it out so you see more definition and are cooler. Looks natural, yet clean. This is a great place to start!

I've been trimming my legs for the past few years and I do like it. It definitely feels softer and smoother like Alpha said and it does feel better in pants and when showering. But I don't trim it too short...usually a number 3 clipper, so that it looks natural. I do like hair on my legs.

I agree with everything you say. Started shaving my legs when I was competing in ironman racing. I have since stopped this sport and concentrated on just running. Do I still shave my legs? Absolutely. As you said, muscle definition is much better and they feel so much better, Shave for me all the way.

I shave my legs, absolutely. Arms, chest, happy trail, and the frank and beans. I consider it a matter of hygiene, and just plain old sophisticated grooming. Then again, I am covered in tattoos. so I have more of a reason to not cover my work with hair.

Been grade-zero trimming (and shaving select areas) over the whole body for years and only ever had positive comments from others (female & male alike). Avoid shaving certain areas though like chest, upper legs and butt cheeks (in particular the latter two) due to terrible shavers rash. Once you start tiding up the body hair u really do feel much more comfortable in general.

When I was 23 I started to lose hair on my shin, now I'm 43 and it's completely gone as well as on the back of my both legs. I don't have much hair at all on my legs, and I'm just thinking it will look better with it gone than not being complete.

Do you have any advice for saving your legs above the knee? I personally don’t do it because every single time I do I get ingrown hairs and it’s incredibly itchy I’ve also cut myself a few times because that area is really sensitive. Absolutely no problems with shaving or trimming below the knee but above the knee it’s really difficult.

Once I started getting leg tattoos & I like them to look clean & shiny & vibrant. My homie put me on the idea to shaving them. He’s got the dope traditional tatts on his legs with the colors. It just looks better shaved. There’s a bunch of excuses to shave your legs. Comfort, sports, tattoos, ect. Most people who put that much energy into judging you for it just wish they had the confidence to do it themselves I would assume.

Well if it doesnt bug you, go for it I guess. I stumbled with this video bc I have been looking for different ways to shave since my skin is so, so sensitive. I love taking care of myself but sometimes I just wish I could take this concern off my mind to focus on more mindful things. It does surprise me that you actually take the time to shave everywhere. I thought you were going to enjoy the freedom😅.

Finally someone with common sense. I don't really get the whole shaving your legs, or evening have to trim them. It's just a natural thing. If you want to, do it. Do what works for you. Personally I don't think I would look good with shaved legs. I have no idea how trimmed would look, but seems to be too much maintenance for me. I think trying to come out with norms on what people should do is silly. Everyone is unique, I know people with very little leg hair, who wished they had more. Funny how society shapes our thoughts of how we should look. I think it is kind of dangerous and leads to things like body dismorphia, if you are not looking the way, you feel the world tells you, you should look.

To shave or not to shave; that is the question - and here's my answer . . . Back in 2012 I looked up a "Manscaping poll" held by women on dating websites; and again about half of all female voters said "Trim not shave" because unless you're olympic athlete, shaving is just "weird" (I'll go with that). I use an electric hair trimmer on the beard setting and it works fine for me. I live in the tropics - like 85% humidity in the summer; and excess body hair equals excess heat, sweat, CHAFING and "Prickly Heat" Rash - and your clothes feel you're suffocating! And as an added bonus, I noticed that when I go for a swim or take a bath; the water runs off instead of sticking in the hair - which makes me feel cooler and keeps my towel fresher for longer as well (because it's not laden with excess moisture). So I trim; it's cooler, way more comfortable, my clothes feel looser and my deodorant lasts longer too.

i tried to shave my leg hair, chest hair and armpit hair a few days ago cause i was curious after finishing a fresh cut. for my entire life i chose to keep my body hair because i was really lazy and couldn't find a reason for investing the effort and time. That was an amazing decision, its so comfortable to not have leg hair. it changed sleeping, sitting, dressing, and my appearance. id recommend it.

Excellent video. I've been trimming and shaving the public and behind for 30 years. Recently I've done waxing. That gets expensive, but works/ hurts. Now I'm having laser, and I am extremely satisfied with the results. However, unfortunately I can have one rear bum cheek laser, thus the left cheek is tattooed, so they can't laser over tattoo work. Luckily at least they can laser the pubic, genitals and in-between the bum. So now I have ventured into using an elipilator, though it's painful, but long lasting results, up to several weeks hair free, with the occasional touch ups. But it can be painful. Experimented today with shaving the legs in preparation to elipilate. I agree with a clean leg, it shows definition, plus it shows my tattoo work on my legs thus they are heavily tattooed
