Nothing wrong with videoing your play…..it’s a precursor to the big stage on the LPGA with the big network cameras. My opinion is simply it gets you in a comfort zone. Good for you Gabby!! Rooting for you all the way!! 👏🏽👏🏽👏🏽
It’s amazing that you scored what you scored, given you were doing running commentary on your own round, I’d be all tired out with a dry mouth if I did that! Once you’ve practiced all putting elevations on that course those strokes will start tumbling.
You probably have more footage of you than anyone. I don't see a problem with that. It gives you all kinds of opportunities to observe your swing. My guess is that this is not the main reason you're filming yourself, but it is great for review.
Filming is fine, but PGA/LPGA don’t talk and narrate themselves the entire round. That would not be OK and not fair to your playing mates to deal with that distraction. If they can’t hear you, I don’t see any issues! Play well gabby!
You have been totally respectful to everyone you play with, so there should be no problem with filming your tournaments. Keep up the great work and content you provide.
Awesome video production for a tournament, along with commentary! Regarding people laughing and recording, I will say I was close to being one of those people while watching your RU-vid shorts, but then I realized you are sharing the content trying to grow the game of golf. Keep doing what you are doing!
Filming is awesome! But the level of commentary and talking during a tournament is not respectful to her playing partners. Really not trying to dog Gabby because I love and watch her videos but they don’t choose to get paired with her and no one in other groups (or any tournament at any level) deals with that kinda distraction. You would never see Bryan Bros talking like this while they film they events
You're my favorite golf content creator and I love what you're doing. IMO i say it's fine as long as you're also complimenting your group on good shots as I hear them doing for you and you're also helping to remove and replace the pin and not just walking off the green after you ask them if you can finish your short putts. I wish you all the success in the world!
I think that if Golf wants Golf to grow, we need people like you and others on youtube growing the game. 100% should be able to film as long as it doesn't get in the way of others.
Then these influencers should just play local tournaments and not a Professional tournament and allow someone else to play to win, not someone in the way just for video contact for her ratings can increase and get paid.
I love when you video any/all of your videos. By doing so, you’re getting more and more people of all age groups interested in playing golf. Your channel keeps growing so you must be doing something right! Go Gabby go!
"I'm doing this to grow the game", well your channel has gotten me to fall back in love with Golf, so I've picked it up again and have played quite a few rounds already. So I can safely say, what you're setting out to do, it's working! Keep on doing amazing things Gabby!
Gabby you are such a respective young woman who has a wonderful zest for life and an overwhelming joy for the game of golf . I guess the governing body of any Tournament has first and last say about protocols concerning do's and don'ts . Myself , I personally would love that you document/film your own game . The insight through the competitor is precise rather than speculation of a third party . God bless you Gabby stay awesome.
Hi Gabby. Really nice video....liked the drone footage of the holes before you played them (I was waiting for Jim Nance to start talking about the next hole!!!) I appreciate your discussion about what just happened and what is about to happen....how youll approach your next shot. Looks like you had two (at least) videographers?? As long as they dont bother others and your speaking doesn't bother others then i personally think it's all good. Wishing you the best of luck. Love your channel and your attitude!!
I love what you do! I love getting insight on your thinking process of your game. Its dope to me and I've never played. But its working because you got me here. Keep doing your thing. You're not doing anything wrong. Camera's are everywhere in the pros. Thank you for giving us a peek inside all of this!
Continue doing your thing! Its not dependent on anyone else or what they think. We appreciate you sharing your journey. All real golfers relate on some level.
3:43 .. and there's nothing wrong with staying in your lane & doing your own thing. Problem occurs when others try to dictate what your lane is. Do U homegirl, don't worry about nothing but your mission of growing the game of golf.⛳ That's super awesome!
I agree! It's such a head game and staying positive is so helpful, which Gabby does really well. Watching her videos gives free insight to a professional's thought process hole by hole.
14-18 greens and +3 scorre is not bad, I'll take that every time with my weekend golf. Tourname golf is different, so yea, its about the putting and saving those ups and downs, so chipping as just as important as the putting. Good luck going forward, putting is state of mind, when start off making them, seems you have a state of mind you can make them all and yuo make more. When ou start off missing a few, that bad state of mind sets in and you have to fight and overcome that bad state of mind early in the round with missed putts. Key with this is, you have to totally forget about the last, and past, holes, and focus on the current and present to control that positive state of mind early in rounds. You got this!!!!
Production quality of this video was really impressive. Great B roll footage and your voice and talking through the shots was absolutely perfect! Ignore the haters too Gabby. You’re going places they’ll never know!
Filming, absolutely. I don't want to give it away, but you did great this tournament. I was there for Ryan and saw you. No spoilers here but I was impressed for sure
Thank you, Gabby. Production on this video was awesome. My opinion is that as long as the tournament allows filming, then do your thing. You are respectful of the players so they will need to figure out how to deal. I would like to hear you compliment other player’s shots once or twice. I look forward to the next round. Thanks again!🙏❤️
Yes. You should be allowed to film. Cameras have made filming a part of modern life. Its part of your golf career. Its a public sport. There is no reason you shouldnt be permitted to film. You will run into people who will be resistant to ANYTHING you want to do - especially if you are successful, be respectful but tell them to pound sand. Do your thing Gabber. Tough putting today -- thats just how it goes, but you have the best attitude & a mature mental game...I expect youll rebound like the future champion you are. Keep crushing!
Can't wait for round 2. Solid round with the exception of your putting. (I know the feeling) Sure hope these tournaments allow you to film more, really fun to watch you. we are all pulling for you, let us know where you finished.
Young Lady, I haven't yet watched the video, but from the Title, I thought it appropriate to mention that my opinion might be noteworthy. I have 46 years of competitive golf experience. In 1997, in Costa Mesa, CA. I was the only PGA Professional to score 100% on their rules exam. In addition, I was a Rules Official and Player Coach for the Futures Tour (Think Korn Ferry of the LPGA). I was also a founding member, as well as the Tournament Operator, for the YAJGF, which grew from nothing to being the largest and most successful Junior Golf Foundation in the Great State of Arizona. I also coached the Boys Golf Team of the local high school. I played on my own High School Golf Team, as well as a number of mini-tours. In 1986 I had the honor of caddying for Chi-Chi Rodriguez. I passed my PGA Players Ability Test on Dec. 16, 1996 at Camelback GC. I fell in love with the game as a kid, and I love the game still, some 46 years later. I spent a lifetime being an honorable servant of the game and the qualities I believe that it stands for. OK young lady, gonna watch your video now and offer you my opinion, including the reasoning behind it.
Thanks to your video with coach George Gankas I bought my daughter the Bettinardi mallet putter innovia 9.0 center shaft. Great Putter. Thanks George 👍🤛
hey gabby - from one of your shorts where you mentioned you hate taking off your shoes at airport security - have your parents get TSA pre check and it should work for you as well if they travel with you. No taking off shoes or taking laptops / ipads out of your bag.
Gotta consistently putt 2-3 feet past the cup on misses. Try the toe to toe stroke technique to nail down the length of your putts. It works. Putting long reduces the break and more go in. GL!!
This is a putting still I do, I find a uphill putt on practice green putt a tee in the green Avery 3 feet up to 15 feet, then putt uphill, and down hill to each tee. Helps with distence control
Your videos popped up on my feed bc i watch alotta horvat...awesome what ur doin at ur age kid. Keep swingin. Success is the best way to stick it to em.
I totally agree there is not anything wrong filming your play. Best of luck with your Golfing. Filming your play, also helps to work on your game. Anyways you're good Gabby
Tough day rolling the rock but your emotional management and your ability to find the positive aspects of your round are really impressive! Golf is fickle. Love your commentary and your strategic analysis of course management. Your understanding of golf and emotional maturity are way beyond your years. Super impressive! This is why I enjoy your channel. I presume the drone footage is not taken during the course of competition. I would find the sound of an overhead drone to be very annoying during competition. You appear to be considerate to your competitors as your commentary is done out of earshot. As long as the camera person is not slowing play and your competitors are OK with the filming process I see no reason against your quest to bring this to RU-vid. If you are respectful to those that do not want filming during competition you are standing on the moral high ground. There will always be people who want to gossip and hate on others for a variety of reasons that are beyond your control. Just be sweet, kind, and non-judgmental as you come across those people and live your truth! Nice video and beautiful golf course!!!
I always enjoy when you watch GG, Rick Shields and the likes and they start talking through their shots for the camera and they all remember how beneficial it is to do this all the time.
You do you. Don't be concerned with what others think or say. You're living your life, and they are living theirs. Don't focus on trends of any sort. Don't focus on how others are playing. When it comes down to it, you're playing your game on the course. Play the course. Play the course. Play the course.
I'll answer before i watch this. It's completely up to the organizers of the tournament. In a public area, in your own home, or on your own property, you have a constitutional right to film whatever you choose. If you participate in a privately held event such as a golf tournament, the organizers can implement any rules they choose as long as they're not discriminatory. If they prohibit filming, you must adhere to their rules and refrain from filming. You can also choose not to participate if you don't like their rules. If they were to implement a dress code that stated participants and spectators cannot wear clothing with political affiliations or logos, you would have to follow their dress code if you wanted to participate or spectate. Our constitutional rights protect us from interference, intrusion, restrictions, and retaliation from our government and not necessarily from other private organizations.
wow that course looks amazing!!!. Awesome content as always Gabby!!❤ Quick question what is your routine of warming up if you dont have enough time to warmup like you did in the vid? Say 5-10mins before Tee time?
Screw those bullies! Let the haters hate. You do you and let all of your fans shower you with love and adoration. I hope that you win the tournament! Good luck!
High level competitive golf has cameras filming players and the spectators... I would rather get accustomed to that aspect of the game sooner than later. Keep doing what you are doing, and I hope you get into the groove with your putting very soon.
You are very talented and dedicated to the sport. Love your self talk. Videos should not be a problem. Free advertising for the course you are at. Saying that, remember that most courses are private property and they set the rules. Most won't complain but when you get to tournament level events, there may be certain media rights. Just look over the rules, may be exclusions, but if there is not, respect the game and the course. As you know, half the fun is who you are golfing with. Enjoy everything.
A few thoughts. Narrativing live makes you say out loud your intent. Maybe a good thing. However, it may be distracting. Nothing wrong with just a video without being mic'd up either. You are super talented. We can enjoy your journey with or without audio.
I see that most tour pros tend to have some sort of green tea like matcha lattes with that caffeine now instead of coffee. Why didn't you rely on a caffeine like that where there are no jitters onna tournament day? Just curious. Great video as always!
That is a beautiful golf course and if I were you playing that course, I’d be spending a lot of time in the water! I only wish I had your game! Keep doing what you’re doing!
I watched a little bit of the Women's U.S. Open, and most of the women seemed to get a lot closer to the greens on the par 5s after their second shots than Gabby normally did at this tournament. Then they chipped pretty close to the hole. I guess when Gabby gets older, she will be able to increase her distance off the tee and on her second shot, and still keep the shots in the fairway like she regularly does.
Gabby Golf Girl could be the best story in golf. I would rather watch your videos than watch the PGA. At minute 8:00 hole #3 you pulled your drive to the left. You commented later that on "pulled left drives you feel like you rushed the downswing." I could be wrong but it looks more like you dropped your hands into the slot too far. I suspect dropping your hands too far, and below the plane, would lead to a closed face at impact. On your irons, this top of the swing drop into the slot is far less visible. So while it might feel "too quick", quick may not be the actual reason. Just a thought. Again your content is amazing.
Are you using the Max version of the Qi10? I had a driver fitting a couple of weeks ago. I hit the standard version a bit longer overall, but I had a lot of really straight drives with the Max version, so I went with the Max. I do get one that gets a bit too much spin and balloons from time to time, but it’s usually dead straight in the fairway when it happens, so I’ll take that. I played a G430 Max last year and thought it was really good, but this is the straightest driver I’ve ever had so far. What are your thoughts?
Sunscreen a must! And it’s awesome what you are doing for golf, people can be mean when jealous, see Caitlin Clark in the WNBA. Like these tournaments videos.
As a former cyclist, the only thing I found that helps tan line relief is UV protection sleeves. They can be hot though. Continue to film. I don't know why can't other than broadcast rights already purchased. If players reject cameras, they are in the wrong business.
I used to video my college players all the time during the round since I was allowed to walk with them and give advice. I have one where one of my guys won a tournament in a play off with a long put while I was on the green. Just made sure my phone on silent and held the phone in a manner that didn’t look like I was filming, so not to bother any of the players
Follow tournament rules of course. But I would love to see video of your tournament. Let the others laugh or be upset, but they do not understand the power of what you are doing to draw interest to golf. I agree with JayJay having cameras around could help the others if they have desires to go LPGA.
I am so happy to follow your journey in Life and of course I mean your golfing and me and my 10 year old son we both play golf and you give us both great tips and advice and especially the things outside golfing and I refer to the gym-part of preparing for a better swing and golfing,… Please do not stop ,… love your golf and what you do🙏✅👍😀🇸🇪🇱🇷⛳️
Thanx a ton for the video Gabby. I'm only part way into the vid, but so long as the camera work isn't holding up someone or getting in their way, I see no problem with the filming. From what I can see, I assume your Momma, is taking video from a position that does not impede anyone during their golf game. Maybe just be 100% sure your commentary for the video isn't happening while your standing there with other players....like when they are next up to putt, but you are commenting for the video, are they now wondering "What is this girl doing?" We all know the camera can add pressure to someone...so the other players can't know there is the camera distraction. Like at 13:55...from my point of view the player in front you seemed like she was trying to get away. LOL. So that's a major distraction too her.
