@@msd6397 Doesn't really cost a lot of money to hop on a train and have a walk... I watch another guy who's doing the same thing without any funding and he seems to be doing fine - 'Honest places' is the name if you wanted to look.
I love your videos man but you are rambling here. You are the man. Believe! Should never have changed it from Guinness Guru. Madness that you changed the name. Guinness has massive global reach and you were perfect for it. Down to earth guy chatting and sinking pints. You hardly even got started. Guinness is in Africa, its in food, its in sport, its everywhere. So much scope. You are the Guinness Guru, bring it back lad before its too late. Think big. Bring it!👍
Love the new direction! As a Yank who adores Ireland it’s a joy to see the inside of pubs, hear a bit of the history and chat with the owner/manger. Would be interesting to check out more pubs in small lesser known towns/villages. Keep up the good work!
It's been in decline since you stopped the Guinness Guru. I know you got bored doing those videos, and many of us probably got a bit bored of them, too, but that was your niche. I guess it was something that had its time.
I enjoyed your stuff before but being honest it feels like your heart isnt in it anymore, maybe try to keep moving up the ladder with off the ball or something else
Daragh, it's evident that your recent shift in content strategy and style has been met with open arms and enthusiasm from your audience. Your dedication to evolving and refining your content has not gone unnoticed, and your 64k subscribers stand as a testament to the quality of your work. Your content is fantastic, and your humble yet loyal following is a testament to that. The Guinness reviews have been a cornerstone of your channel, capturing the essence of your brand and garnering widespread acclaim. Personally, I found great enjoyment in following along with your Guinness series during the channel's growth. It's clear that your forte lies in the pub-style content, and the potential for growth within this niche is boundless. Exploring and showcasing pubs across Ireland and the UK presents an exciting opportunity to further engage your audience and expand your reach. While your content is already resonating with viewers, investing in better production equipment and perhaps collaborating with a new videographer or editor could elevate your content to new heights. Enhancing the visual and editing quality of your videos would undoubtedly enhance the viewing experience and attract even more attention. Your Guinness ratings and reviews strike a chord with viewers, much like Dave Portnoy's "one bite" pizza reviews. It's a simple yet effective format that resonates with audiences on a personal level. That being said, consider broadening your horizons by reaching out to more people for interviews and exploring collaborations with other creators. By expanding your network and collaborating with like-minded individuals, you can further enrich your content and reach new audiences. Your journey thus far has been brilliant, and the potential for future growth and success is limitless. Keep innovating, keep exploring, and continue to captivate your audience with your unique blend of content. The best is yet to come!
It was obvious. That the change was bad. Great niche. Great name. The brand and content made daragh stand out. I never missed a Guinness guru vid. Didn’t even mind that they were 25 mins long because they were divided into 5 sections for 5 pubs. Couldn’t wait for the next video. Now I find it a chore. And there were LOADS of towns and pubs left to do. Go back to the thing you and ONLY you were good at daragh.
Back to Qurky pubs drinking the lovely Black Stuff and throw in some food as well mate, your an inspiration to Guinness drinkers, I plan my trips around where you have been drinking Guinness 😀BUT it's about what makes you happy and allows you to live a good life mate
Mate don’t you bloody dare stop being the Guinness guru…. Just keep finding those hidden gems of pubs back home in the Emerald Isle … There is some absolute Garbage out there who are basically trying to be you, but are failing miserably so you keep going fella..😃👍
Having the likes of Picture This and James Haskell in your videos introduces you to a whole new audience. Some may love you, some may hate you, but you're bound to pick up a few more followers at the end of the day. There are endless "celebs" from Johnny Logan to Graham Geraghty who all have their own fanbases, so I'd keep going down down that road. I'd say someone like Mack Hansen would love to sit down in some Connemara pub for a feed of pints with you 🍻
I love you're dedication to Guinness. I love Guinness and you're dedication to the Stout and it brought me to your channel. Expand you're knowledge on Guiness itself (more in depth videos from pubs, St. James gate) to focus on how Guinness is made and embraced by drinkers. Slainte'
You’ll get the most views if you keep going to different pubs and reviewing their stout. Might not interest you as much as a few years ago but it’s your niche that only you can successfully operate in
My 2 cents: Guinness Guru is the name you started with and brought you notoriety. Just because you shifted your material to pub reviews doesn't mean you needed to change your name. I think "Guinness Guru Media" should be your brand, and not limit what you can do on the channel. Feel like making a new "best Guinness in insert city,” then do it. Feel like doing interviews with pub owners? Do it. Want to throw in a food review like "best fish and chips in Dublin?" Do it. Do anything and everything you find interesting and people will come along for the journey because they like you and find your content interesting. Start a podcast. Post outtake videos. If something works really well or you enjoy it more than anything else, make it reoccurring. If not, make it a one off. I can picture a Guinness Guru Media functioning similarly to how barstool sports is in the states. Eventually adding other content creators to the mix. Bringing in someone to have a weekly sports podcast hosted on your channel. Basically having different segments across a range of different subjects. Again, just me 2 cents.
The direction is decent, it will just take some time to get it down pat. Could always keep the Guinness Guru thing going as a series. Once a month or something like that
It seems like you’re just not that passionate about making RU-vid anymore Darragh . So with all respect , it’s probably time for you to go because it’s only going to be more cumbersome to do . Leave on a high !
With respect I get the impression you're too caught up in social media. You're an Irish dude that tells everyone where to get a good pint. The channel is never going to change the world. Chill with it and try not being so deep and philosophical about a pub/pint review channel on youtube. The videos audience is lads wanting to see pubs/bars. Don't try reinvent the wheel and take the pressure off yourself.
I love your channel pal, I think you need to do lands end to John o groats Guinness pub tour series and mix it in with a bit of history etc, you’re a great presenter and very personable to watch 👌👍🇬🇧
The pub and pint reviews are good and worth watching. You're also good at a pub interview with someone. Keep doing the both. Interview the famous if you can, but also the interesting people you'd meet in a pub from the owners to the patrons.
If its worth anything, here's my thoughts. If you're sick of it now, imagine 4 years further down the line? You'll be 4 years older, everyone will be 4 years wiser, 4 years further in their career, and you'll still be at home thinking 'what am I doing stand in front of a camera talking this BS'. Keep it going as a part time gig, put up a video a month, and put all your energy into getting a real job and starting a real career. None of the 20-35 year old's in 10 years time will give Jack-S what you think when you're older than them, so get out while you're on top! You've done a great job, you're clearly a very decent and entertaining person, but remember this - don't grow old on RU-vid!
Yes continue the channel but go back to your roots and stay Irish focus. There’s some great Irish towns you’ve not looked at Castlebar, Ballina etc. A Guinness Guru returns series would do so grand.
Yep. Even in Donegal daragh did 2 towns and not even the best 2! I was looking forward to seeing the Guinness guru going to the rest then they stopped!
I love your content. Having been to Ireland last September, your videos always give me that feel of being back on the beautiful island all the way to here in the states.
Unless you haven't outgrown a need for constant validation, it's maybe time to be a true Irish Rover & find out what life has in store for you --- just remember, you can't control everything.
Huge Guinness fan here, just found your channel. All I know Is I am in the USA and our Guinness is supposedly not as good as yours in Ireland especially. Is it true that your beer is not pasteurized? If so, that's probably why it is so much better, although HOW it could be better I have no idea. Thanks.
Love watching you going to pubs, roaming around inside, talking to owners, managers, bartenders, and sports people, basically whoever makes the pub interesting. Keep up the great work.
Everyone has doubts but don’t think too far ahead take it one sip at a time 😂humility is the result of self doubt - and that suits your great personality - life is short mate do what you love. I repeat DO WHAT YOU LOVE. ❤️🙌👍a song for you ! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-J6vgMTYpdZQ.htmlsi=_1wKaZzl6Gfiyge5 Finally I live a bus ride away from the old S in Stoke Newington I’m driving them mad as I demand perfection 😂🤣☝️🕺God bless x
Some ideas mate: Why don't you try sharpening your interview skills and going on city pub tours doing mini interviews with local ex sportsman, boxers, footballers etc. I know you've touched on that but you need to research and prep questions more to guide the guest. Without it becoming James English, just flows better if you prep. Best match day pub vlogs around the country. Away day pub vlogs. Finding the best pub chains? Best spoons in UK? Best Greene King? Playing pool and darts in pubs finding the best players? Talking about how sport clubs used to fuel uk pubs and how that's dying. Buy a fucking pub and take us on your landlord journey? Haha Taste testing with random people in pubs? Can they spot a fosters from a peroni?
The Guinness Empire love you, it's too expensive to enjoy, average £20 for 4 pints here in the UK, much more in the cities, and you can't enjoy it on 2pints, they sell millions and millions of pints so should be same price as say John Smiths
Yes you certainly should we love what you do we just love Ireland of Irelands.love to see as many places you can show us.We especially love the pubs we want to visit soon and pubs. Thanks 🙏 it’s a wonderful channel we love to see you you’re so likeable.☮️☮️☮️☮️☮️
I think you should chat to old men in rural bars have a few jars people miss old times.. I'm young moved to city of Dublin don't see it.. Look call me mad but stories and pints could be good.. Best of luck
Lot of the time it’s the algorithm, I hardly ever see you on the home page, yet I’d watch had I have seen that you’ve uploaded. RU-vid priorities shorts being flooded to us now.
Carry on lad. Just get on the craic, go around the world going into pubs, order a guinness and have a bit of chat with the lads. The world is crying out for positive male role models. Be one.
From experience watching people on social media, when they start talking too much about what to do with their content it never works out. Most people switch off from that talk.
I think you should go back to Guinness guru and travel the world see if you can get a sponsorship maybe from Guinness , I hope you continue, but when you changed i liked the old stuff it’s just me no hard feelings, but I wish you the best
Enjoying the direction you have taken. Talking to people is when you look your most comfortable and it shows in the content and quality, keep it up lad
I've loved all the pub videos from the beginning. I can definitely appreciate it can get stale etc. For me definitely seeing you explore more of city or country specific drinking customs. Independent brewery tours, seeing you even picking some hops and making your own stout would be amazing.
I found your channel about 15 mos ago while preparing for my first visit to Ireland. Our prime mission was pubs, real old school traditional pubs. 1 year ago today we landed and hit Darkey Kelly’s and had our first bowl of Guinness stew and real Guinness. Wouldn’t have found many of the pubs we visited if it wasn’t for you. For me, you’re the OG and the others just followed your path. Keep hitting pubs, looking for the stories and the great crack. Slainte!!
Nothing wrong with having a real job while you do an occasional post. Dublin City is looking for motivated lads like yourself to be Gardai. Good salary, benefits, pension, and plenty of off time to indulge your RU-vid interests. You can make a real difference in the lives of others. Think about it, lad. ❤
