Yes, I did get a Papillion…great little dog…active, playful, intelligent, jaunty but not nervous or high strung. Perhaps a small tendency to be a bit happy, but as intelligent as ours is, it’s easy to train her well for this.
I have a papallion named Luke Skybarker... He's full of energy and argues with me if I try to correct him. He hates squirrels and our neighbor's cat ... But I love him dearly, a true companion in good times and bad times! He's always there to greet me when I get home... happy to see me.😊 Sue
These are little baskets of pure dynamite. Mine seems to understand sentences/questions: "Do you belong in the kitchen?" She will walk off politely, but almost immediately pop back and so adorable that I don't even care! Sneaky, fun and truly loyal. This vid was fun! Enjoyed the male outlook on this tiny dog, thank you!
The Papillon is a moderately energetic dog that will love you to death. They are one our most favorite toy breeds. Personality, personality, personality! What do you love about your butterfly dog?
@@lorij6103 the Papillon is actually the 8th smartest breed and the only small breed in the top 10. I trained my in AKC agility and obedience and two were Certified Therapy dogs as well. One note of caution they are fragile boned. So I wouldn't recommend if you have small children.
OMGosh I've had 4 Papillions and this practically had me wet my pants with laughter--all true (although I find the coat needs a lot of brushing--maintenance) but just hysterical with the in between comments.
Well not German Shepard shed but about mid shed. Plus that long hair particularly around ears needs to be brushed daily. Or it tangles. These ‘few’ videos are cracking me up, please keep it up. I’ve been telling people. I think the Briewer Terrier idea will get you more views! Good job. Keep them coming.
Yes once I get my self out of this apartment and into a new home I am looking into getting a Papillion I think it would be lots of fun and my nephew saw one at one time and he loved it so it’ll keep both of us exercising
@@ruffruffrude216 i’ve heard with my being in a wheelchair running back-and-forth with him he’s going to keep me quite energetic exercising constantly I’m going to be setting up a agility course in my yard to play with him
@@lorij6103 I did agility with mine (trust me on this--the dog learns quickly but the human takes 98% of the training!) It's not easy to learn, for the human, it takes years to be any good and if you're a beginner you'll likely have a Papillion lose interest because you can't learn fast enough! I screwed up my first one trying to learn myself and he was like "you suck" . I was better with the second. I would recommend obedience or tricks, or nosework, barnhunt--that's easy to train and they love it. They are super motivated to learn and please.
Papillions love to have a soft toy they can hump a lot lol, my male is super cute intelligence and amazing I bought a couple of cat tunnels and joined them together he loves running through it.
Great video thank you🙌🏻I 💙papillons. My friend has 3 actually one phalene and 2 papillons. They are just adorable I’ll get one too as soon as my babys are a bit older💛
I have a Papillon mix. He's the night moth version and the other half is Toy Fox Terrier but he's more Papillon. He's been with me since he was a puppy (6 weeks old) he's 14 years old now. He's very loving and still acts like a puppy. He's also blind, which I found out that Papillons go blind anywhere between the ages of 3-8 years. He went blind in one eye at 8 years, then the other eye the next year. He's black and white and 11inches tall. I fell in love with him the second I saw him. A neighbor found him for me and I paid $50.00 for him, he's been worth every penny and then some. He sleeps with me every night and is in my lap most of the time. God bless.
I am from Chicago we flew up to Vegas and weave to Papillon yes they are cute dogs I like that butterfly ears I was never a dog person to I buy these two beautiful dogs they're only a year old
My Baby is a moth eared Papillon (Phalene ) - which means that his ears are not upright (unless he wants them to be - HA) Killian is going to be 15 years old on March 17th of this year - and he is still full of energy and a JOY!!! ALWAYS JOY. He was socialized from puppy time with babies, children, and teens: He LOVES PEOPLE. His ESCAPE from TODDLERS, and YOUNG KIDS was to LICK THEM! Until they laughed and let him go - NEVER BITING - NEVER NIPPING - NEVER GROWLING. Any dog should be socialized - which we did ( full disclosure - Killian was raised around babies and teenagers) - and even if you have to FIND WAYS to do it - DO IT!!! Because No ONE LIKES AN OBNOXIOUS DOG - ESPECIALLY A SMALL DOG! .. OK - preaching over. Paillons are SO SMART!!! AND STUBBORN! AND LOVING, And they LOVE THEIR PEOPLE. They LOVE walks, exercise - DO NOT get this breed if you think they are NOT GOING TO GO ON WALKS!!!!! THEY NEED EXERCISE!!!! They got the memo about being lap dogs - Killian LOVES TO CUDDLE on the couch - BUT he won't spend an entire day doing so - just saying. These dogs truly need to be active and socially stimulated EVERY DAY. And they get along with other dogs and cats - I know this because Killian has been raised with both and just lost his dog friend of 14 years - a brindle Pomeranian named Lucien, and has been as depressed as my husband and I on the loss. I want to end with this: IF you are thinking of getting a Papillon - RESEARCH THIS BREED - PLEASE. They are LOVELY FAMILY MEMEBRS - IF YOU MAKE THEM FAMILY MEMEBERS - THIS IS NOT A PURSE DOG - THEY ARE WAY TOO SMART FOR THAT - AND WILL END UP DISAPOINTING - BECAUSE YOU WILL MAKE THE NEUROTIC. FIY - my pic is my baby Killian :)
Do they shed? I just put my scheeenie down MVD. Vet says it's very common in small breeds? Radar was only 10. What a smart mixd breed he was. He answered me w sniffs. I miss him RIP Radar 2/17/2012 my love
I love my papillon he's a very intelligent little guy and not high strung or barks a whole lot we've spoiled him rotten but he's not really kid friendly he barks at and chases kids 😂
Papillons are wonderful little dogs, but, if you’re looking for a true lap-dog you might be disappointed. They’ll stay with you, my male is my shadow, but they don’t like being restricted to sitting on your lap, or even next to you for more than a minute, during which time they become obviously uncomfortable. And, because they’re intelligent they need activities or they’ll become bored and restless. Keep in mind that they’re “companion dogs” and need their people. If you work full time, or have a social life that can’t include your dog, don’t choose a Papillon, because as your disappearance (which is their perspective) grows longer, they’ll bark and cry until you come home. It’s really heartbreaking. One more thing. Papillons are highly alert watchdogs and will bark at everything that they might see, hear or smell, within 100-200ft. from inside your home. Outside, depending on the wind, their senses are much greater. So there’s that. Don’t get me wrong, Paps are beautiful, happy and playful. But, they’re not right for all households. Potentially, my next dog will be more of a coach potato. 🤔 Maybe a Cavalier King Charles. 🐶
