@@manobik মুসলিমরা তাদের মোরাল কোড ঠিক করে কুরআন ও সুন্নাহের মানদন্ডে। এছাড়া বাকি ১০ রকমের মানুষের কাছে মোরাল কোড এর base ১০ রকম। ভিন্ন ভিন্ন চিন্তা ধারার মানুষ বিষয়টা ভিন্নভিন্ন মানদন্দে বিবেচনা করে থাকে। আপনার কাছে সৌদি আরবের মানুষের কোনো একটা কাজ নৈতিকতার মানদন্ডে অনৈতিক মনে হতে পারে। আবার সৌদি আরবের লোকেদের কাছে ব্রাজিল বা ভারতের মানুষের কোনো কাজ অনৈতিক মনে হতে পারে।যে কোনো বিষয় যার যার moral base এর সাথে aligned হলে সেটা তার মতে মোরাল বা ইমোরাল। শুধু পার্থক্য হলো মুসলিমদের moral code এর base টা fixed এটা ৪০০ বছর পরেও same ই থাকবে। আর বাকিদেরটা যুগের বাতাসে পাল্টাতে থাকে।

But will not start those here, as those have some subjective perspective. However, I guess one thing I must have to make it clear to you. You DONOT have to stay in USA once you are a citizen. There is no residency requirements after you get your citizenship. Absolutely NO! My parents are in Bangladesh for last 9 years who are US citizen. I am based in Singapore for last 4 years. Residency requirements needs to be fulfilled when you are a green card holder. If you are a green card holder and out of USA for more than one year, US immigration can deny your entry. And if you can't out of USA with a green card for more than two years without approval. I am curious how as a green card holder who also studied in USA, mixed up those two things. And how you are maintaining your green card without going to US once in a year?

True.... I made the same mistake. The ones who benefit from returning to Bangladesh are those from rich business families with hundreds of crores of Taka or politicians' family members. Middle class folks with no hoarded wealth or strong connections will be happier abroad. Cheap slogans of "deshke bhalobeshe ferot asha" dont work in the real world. The only exception will be those who are only children of aged and sick parents in Bangladesh
আমি ২০১১ এ একা USA আসি।আমি তখন ১৯ বছরের মেয়ে। আমি এখানে এসে এক আপুর সাথে পরিচয় হই যাকে আমি NY মত জায়গায় subway তে ও নামাজের সময় ইশারায় নামাজ পরতে দেখেছি। যাকে আমি হিজাব ছাড়া আজ পযন্ত দেখিনি আলহামদুলিল্লাহ এবং সে fulltime housewife. এবার আমি আমার কথায় আসি, আমি ২০১১ যখন আসি এসেই জব খুঁজি। জব পারাব পর জব আর বাসা ছাড়া আমি কিছুই চিনতাম না।আমার husband ৩ বছর পর এসে আমাকে ২য় বার Walmart এ নিয়ে গেছে। আমি এক পরিবারের সাথে থাকতাম এবং খাওয়াটাও তাদের সাথে ছিল। আর বাসার পাশে এক grocery তে কাজ করতাম। আমার দূনিয়া USA এসে অনেক ছোট হয়ে গিয়েছিল। কোন বাংলাদেশিদের সাথে না পারতে কথা বলতাম না কারন আমি খুবই introvert. দেশের মা বাবা ছোট ভাইকে miss করতাম খুব।তাই কাজ আর বাসায় নিজের রুম ছাড়া কিছুই ভালো লাগতো না।আমি USA এসে যত নামাজ পরেছি দেশে তা পরিনি।কলেজ বন্ধু বান্ধব কোচিং এগুলো নিয়ে ব্যস্ত থাকতাম।এখন আমি আলহামদুলিল্লাহ আমার দুই বেবিকে দেখা শুনা করি।আমার মেয়েটা এখানে মাদ্রাসায় পড়ে আলহামদুলিল্লাহ আমাদের ইচ্ছে বাচ্চাদের মাদ্রাসায় পড়ানো। যদি আল্লাহ তৌফিক দেন। মাদ্রাসা অনেক expensive এখানে আমাদের পরিচিত friend রা যখন summer vacation এ যায় আমরা যেতে পারিনা। কারণ প্রতি মাসে বাচ্চাদের জন্য বড় একটা amount চলে যায়। আমাদের এজন্য কষ্ট নেই। বরং ভালো লাগে যখন আমাদের মেয়ে আমাদের সুরার ভুল ধরে,আমাদের বিভিন্ন দোয়ার কথা বলে।আমি দেশে থাকলে হয়তে আমার মধ্যে এ বিষয় টা জাগ্রত হতো না যে বাচ্চাদের মাদ্রাসায় দিতে হবে।কারন আমাদের উভয় পরিবারের কেউ মাদ্রাসার বারান্দাতেও যায়নি।আমার ৫ বছরের মেয়েকে আমার বলতে হয় না যে তুমি হিজাব পড় আলহামদুলিল্লাহ। সে নিজের থেকে পরে আলহামদুলিল্লাহ। আমার এমন অনেক friend আছে যার হাত মুখ মন্ডল পযন্ত কেউ আজ দেখেনি।আমার পরিচিত অনেক বাচ্চা আছে যারা কোরানের হাফেজ। আমি এখানে দুই মাস আগে এক বিয়েতে attend করেছি যে এখানের by bron বাবা মা বাংলাদেশি সে একজন Software Engineer তার পুরো বিয়েতে কোনো নাচ গান নেই। শুধু কোরানের কিছু আয়াত ইংরেজিতে তাফসীর হয়েছে।এবং অনেক বিদেশি চুপচাপ মন দিয়ে শুনেছে।আমার বিয়েও গান নাচ দিয়ে হয়েছে । আমি হয়ত এখানে না আসলে জানতাম না যে কোরানের আয়াত তাফসীরের মধ্যমেও বিয়ের অনুষ্ঠান হয়।আমার বাসার কাছে দুই টা মসজিদ আলহামদুলিল্লাহ। NY তে এখন ৫ বার জোরে মসজিদে আজান হয় যা বাংলাদেশের মত।একদিন হয়তো সারা USA তে জোরে আজান হবে ইনশাআল্লাহ। আজ NY মত জায়গায় আাজান হতো না যদি আমরা মুসলমান রা এখানে না থাকতাম।এত কথায় মানে হলো নিজে ভালো তো সব ভালো। আপনি কোন friend দ্বারা প্রভাবিত হচ্ছেন। তবে আমি যা বলছি তার পরিমান কম।তবে আমাদের চেষ্টা করতে হবে।চেষ্টার ফলেই আজ Ny তে আজান হচ্ছে এটা আমাদের মুসলমানদের জন্য বড় একটা পাওয়া, যারা আমরা USA তে থাকি এবং ইসলাম practice করি।আমার মা সারাজীবন জব করেছে সে এখন এখানে এসে আজ ৪ বছর যাবৎ Grammar সহ তাফসীর সহ কোরান শিখছেন।এবং ফ্রিতে।যা সে বাংলাদেশে থাকলে পারতো না।তবে আমি এমন মানুষ ও দেখেছি যেখানে ইফতারের পর সবাই নামাজ পরছে আর একজন লোক সবার সাথে ইফতার করে জামাতে নামাজ পরেনি।তার সামনে জামাত হচ্ছে সে পরে নাই। এমন মেয়েদের দেখেছি যারা গ্রাম বা মফস্বল থেকে এসে এখন বিকিনি পরতেও দ্বিধা করে না। আবার ওস্তাদ নোমান খান কিন্তু NY তে এক University থেকে গ্রাজুয়েসন করেছেন
বলে বোঝানোর মতো না,কতো জোস একটা পডকাস্ট শুনলাম। সব নোট করা আছে,যদি কখনো বাহিরেও যাই (ইন শা আল্লাহ) তারপরেও মনস্তাত্বিক ভাবে শান্ত এবং পরিশুদ্ধ থাকার চেষ্টা থাকবে। জীবন-কে অর্থবহ করতে হবে।
I appreciate this type of podcast. But in this podcast there are some arguable aspects.😊😊 1. In this podcast, I guess the host want to prove the fact that - all foreigner Bangladeshi should feel guilty that they are living in abroad. There is no conclusive statement where he came to conclusion to the topic of the podcast 'Should I Migrate ?' or before migration which aspects should be investigated. 2. To me, I think, the host and the guest are from significantly rich family background. Therefore, they do not understand the struggle of having low income and high living cost. Completing 162.5 credits of Engineering studies and completing graduation, if you are offered 12,500 taka per month salary, then there is no point of wasting time in such environment. If I become a rickshaw puller with my own rickshaw, I can easily earn more than that. I think, they however, overlooked the main reason why , people migrate from Bangladesh. 3. Also, I think, they do not have any idea of current unemployment situation in Bangladesh. In everywhere for one post 50-60 candidates apply. So my question to them, is it better to stay unemployed in Bangladesh than being employed in abroad ? 4. In terms of Religion I want to share a fact. I live in Germany since 2019 for higher studies in a medium size municipal city where there is no mosque , barely one church is there. A lot of Muslim student there applied to university for a space for prayer. Eagerly the university allotted a space for prayer. Every Eid we have 200+ Bengali student pray the Eid prayer along with a lot of students pray 5 times regularly in the mosque. I mean a lot. Almost 60% of the students perform full Siam along with respective job each year (exception for Women) . Practicing religion is up to one's willingness. Our Sahabans, Prophet (PBUH) shredded liters of blood to establish our religion. You have create your own environment to perform religious activities. It is not easy to come by. 5. Points to be noted while migrating- 1. Have a thorough assessment of the job opportunity of that country. 2. Social Index ( Very important). How stable the social life is (USA is not a good country with social Index) 3. Security of the country. 4. Weather. 5. How immigrant friendly the country is. 6. Last but not the least- Mental Preparation and purpose of your immigration. I am not against coming back to Bangladesh. I am telling that you must have a certain savings to try out things in Bangladesh, otherwise you cannot even provide food on the table.

Writing as a mother of 3 little kids, living in USA and a practicing Muslim. What I like about US is that it’s a country of Immigrants, except Red Indian's everyone is immigrant. It’s a versatile country and you have to find the right crowd. As a muslim what I like is that we are actively muslim. When I was in Bangladesh, I was a Cultural muslim. But here if you want to stay muslim you have to hold on to the Deen. As a mother I am really afraid of the ' undergrad' situation that this video talks about. But I am hopefull of having more institutes like "Zytuna college" by the time my kids grow up. I am against of sending kids to public school and private schools are really expensive. At the end we need to prioritizes and navigate the right way.
Why put your emaan in precarious situation where you have to battle all the time to even be a basic muslim? Why? For this dunya and wealth and comfort and luxury? Is it worth it? I don't think it's worth putting me and my children in danger of identity crisis and my next generation so far away from Islam.
Personally, I didn’t know any better. Told you "I was a cultural muslim". I started my family in USA. Didn’t have " Perspective podcast" before migration. I don’t believe there’s anything called Basic muslim. Either you are a practicing Muslim or non practicing. Next thing is in Muslim contries majority take Islam as granted. It’s like just going with the flow. We don’t even ask what's the meaning of Islam. What does it mean to be a muslim. If we don't ask how do we get the answer.

@@rezwanarahman4978 I am with, my Iman was not strong enough when I was living in Dhaka. When I came to Canada, my Iman has grown stronger. I don't only think following few Islamic norms suffice, I am more serious about the practice of "Deen". I know about Zaytuna College. But I also think there is not many Islamic university or college which can really benefit our children. Schooling is also a challenge for your children.

14-20 years old here in Bangladesh chanting political slogans, attending political parties to get in touch with BOROBHAI's which somewhat EMPOWERS them and improves their status quo eventually getting used to supply drugs or involving them into political fights. I'm explaining this scenario which represents lower-middle class families and their children, it's got so tough for the parents to control their offspring's livelihood! Everyone wants an upliftment in their lifestyle when they feel they are deprived from those in their family! The trauma such families are now facing, can't even named as a trauma/depression because they are not familiar faces in psychologists/counsellor chamber! What about the mental health of those people who can't even meet the ends need ? Migrating from this country at least ensures that RECOGNITION! Admit that, only certain class of people of Bangladesh can get access to Mental Health advices and cautions. For others, crying or extreme sorrow is just another part of their life now.

6:55 এইধরনের ছেলে-মেয়েদের একটাই ওষুধ - মাইর। ব্যাপারটা বর্বর মনে হলেও আমি মনে করি মাইর আসলেই effective... মাইরের ভয়ে হলেও মানুষ যখন ভাল ব্যবহার করতে শুরু করে, তখন বারবার করতে করতে এটা একসময় আমাদের ভেতর ingrained হয়ে যায়, যার জন্য পরবর্তীতে খারাপ আচরন করতেও খারাপ লাগে। উদাহরণ - যখন স্কুলে/বাড়িতে বেত্রাঘাতের প্রচলন ছিল তখনকার ছেলে-মেয়েদের আচরন দেখেন। তখন ছেলেরা রাস্তায় দাড়িয়ে সিগারেট খাওয়ার সময় যদি কোন সিনিয়র আংকেল/আন্টি হেঁটে যেত তখন সে সিগারেটের ধোয়া গিলে ফেলতো (নিজের চোখে দেখা)। তাদের মধ্যে religiosity-ও ছিল, আর এখন পোলাপাইনদের জুম্মার নামাজ কয় রাকাত জিজ্ঞেস করলে যে উত্তর পাওয়া যায় সেটা শুনে নিজের কান কেটে ফেলতে ইচ্ছা হয়। So মাইর is really effective.... মাইরের উপর ভাইটামিন নাই - is a true statement. 😂😂

S/he became more religious and family oriented and humble after coming here from BANGLADESH and yes we live in the BIG Apple, the melting pot of the world, NYC. It's not an interview as you seem to be assuming. In podcast, interlocutors have conversation not unlike in interview where one asks questions while the other responds.
Alhandulillah! all our family living in UK. its a struggle to raise up children in Europe but at the same time there are easy access to secondary madrasah available for your growing up child. so its really a decision for parents to send their child mainstream school or Islamic institution. so many young people are graduating from madrasah and have a better Islamic knowledge then someone growing up in bangladesh.
It's like my all friends are drug addicted but when they take drug I say my child to study math so that he is busy with something else and he will not see his uncle's taking drug.
ইয়াহিয়া স্যার আপনাকে অনেক সন্মান জানিয়ে কিছু কথা বলতে ইচ্ছে করছে । অনেক দিনই ভেবেছি লিখব কিনা তাই মনে হল কিছু কথা লিখা দরকার । আপনার কথা 70 ভাগই ঠিক । কিন্তু কিছু কিছু জায়গায় একটু ফাক আছে । আমি আমেরিকাপ্রবাসী আজ 14 বসর ধরে আছি । আপনাদের দোয়াই ভালই আছি । তবে বাংলাদেশের মানুষ মনে করে আমেরিকা বেহেশত খানা আসলে কথাটা একদম ভুল । বাংলাদেশে যারা ভাল জব করেন তাদের কাছে অনুরোধ ভুলেও বিদেশে আসার চিন্তা না করাই ভাল এটা আমার অনুরোধ । ছাত্র ভাই বোনদের বলবো যারা মাষ্টার্স ও পিএসডি করতে চাও তাদেরই আমেরিকাতে আসা ভাল এবং বাবার ভাল আর্থিক অবস্হা আছে না হলে এখানে অনেক কষ্ট করতে হবে । আর যারা ইমেগেন্ট হয়ে আসতে চান দয়া করে তের/ চৌদ্দ বসরের আগে বাচ্চাদের এদেশে না আনাই ভাল । আমি আমার ছোট বাচ্চার বয়স যখন চৌদ্দ তখনই এদেশে এনেছি আপনাদের দোয়ায় এখানে স্কুলে খুবই ভাল করছে । তবে এখানে একটি কথা বলতে চাই যারা ইমেগেন্ট হয়ে আসতে চান তাদের বাচ্চাদের ইংরেজি মাধ্যমে পড়াতে ভুলবেন না তখন এখানে অনেক সহজ হবে । আমেরিকাতে যারা নিউইয়র্ক ছাড়া অন্য যে কোন শহরে গ্যাসষ্টেসনে কাজ করলে তাদের জন্য অনেক ভাল আপনি 12/15 বসর এর মধ্যেই গ্যাসষ্টেসনের মালিক হতে পারবেন এই গ্যাসষ্টেসনে যারা এই সময় কাজ করেছে তারা এখন সবাই মালিক দুই তিনটা ষ্টেসনের । আর এই কাজে অনেক সন্মান কারন ঐ সিটির কমবেশী সব আমেরিকান আপনাকে ভাল ভাবেই সবাই চিনবে । পুলিশ আপনার ডিউটি চলাকালিন না হলেও তিন চার বার আপনার কাছে আসবে এবং খোজ খবর নিবে। ঐসিটির এমন কেহ নাই যে আপনাকে চিনবেনা সবাই আপনাকে সন্মান করবে। অন্য কোন পেশা নেই যে আপনি এতো সন্মান পাবেন। এই সিটির সবাই আপনাকে যানবে আপনার সাথে ভাল ব্যবহার করবে । আপনি আমেরিকাতে পড়া লেখা না করলে এখানে অফিসিয়াল জব আপনি পাবেন না। বাংলাদেশে আপনি যত বড় ডিগ্রীধারীই আপনি হন এখানে ঐ সমপর্যায়ের জব আপনি পাবেন না । আমার পরিচিত নিউইয়র্ক সিটিতে উবার চালায় এক ভাই অনেক বসর হয় আমেরিকাতে আছে । উনাকে প্রশ্ন করেছিলাম আপনি ওয়ালমার্টের মেনেজার ছিলেন এখন কেন এই পেশায় এলেন উনি বল্লেন এক অনেক চাপ ছুটি চাইলে সহজে পাওয়া যায় না আর দুই নাম্বার কারন স্বাধীনতা নেই । তিন নাম্বার কারন স্বাধীন ভাবে চলতে পারি যেটা আগে ছিল না । এখন মসজিদে গিয়ে প্রতি ওয়াক্ত নামাজ জামাতে পরতে পারি । শরীর খারাপ আজ কাজ না করে বাসায় থাকতে পারি । মেহমান আসলে সময় দিতে পারি । বাচ্চা অসুস্থ হলে সময় দিতে পারি । আগে আমার আন্ডারে শত শত লোক কাজ করত কিন্তু আমার নিজেরই কোন স্বাধীন ছিল না । আপনারা যে জব গুলোকে ছোট ভাবছেন কিন্তু যারা করছে তাদের কাছে এটায় অনেক বড় কারন আমেরিকার মানুষ এই জব গুলোকে অনেক সন্মান করে বাংলাদেশের মানুষ সব কাজ কে যেদিন সন্মান না করবে সে দিন পর্যন্ত এই দেশের কোন উন্নতি হবে না । আরো অনেক কিছুই বলার ছিল আজ এখানেই শেষ করছি। আর একটি কথা আমি এক মদের ষ্টোরে কাজ করেও কোন দিন মদ খাওয়া হয় নি বা খাইনি । আপনি যদি ব্যাচেলার হন এক বাসায় দুই তিন জন থাকবেন আপনারযদি মদের অভ্যাস থাকে তাহলে আপনাকে ঐ বাসার অন্য সবাই বলে দিবে ভাই আপনি নিজে বাসা দেখেন আপনাকে থাকতেই দিবে না । বাংলাদেশে মদের অভ্যাস থাকলে ও এখানে আপনি খেতে পারবেন না ।99/% বাংলাদেশীদের বাসায় একই নিয়ম । আপনি বাংলা- দেশে কোন দিন নামাজ পড়েন নি কিন্তু আমেরিকাতে এলে আপনি নামাজি হয়ে যাবেন অনেক অল্প সময়ের মধ্যে । কারন আপনি যখন দেখবেন আপনার বাসার সবাই নামাজ পড়ে তখন আপনি কত দিন না পরে থাকতে পারবেন । আমি দেখেছি আমেরিকা হলো বাংলাদেশীদের ভাল হওয়ার অনেক বড় সুযোগ ।সবাই ভাল থাকবেন আমেরিকা থেকে । বসর

Most Parents here, even in Bangladesh don't have much clue about what is going on in these Universities/ especially in Public. Life noshto korar jonno Drugs/Bad company konotar e ekhaane ovaab hoy na. At the same time, disparities are so visible! Middle tier students/coming from economically lower class family is like a curse. just a careful look and you will see bunch of Frustrated heads roaming around. Student politics is ruining Student's lives! came to US for my masters 1.5 years back .just after my undergrad ( got residency as well) . been introspecting / retrospecting about these issues.. mostly because of religious struggle / aspirations . it was an amazing episode which needed to be done. but i may not agree with some of the notions. for when you should come back to Bd for having significant impact ..i would refer to seeam shahid noor's point which he made on trinomial podcast. but nevertheless keep up the good work.this areas need to be addressed

This podcast shows the opposite scenario of Western countries . সবার ভ্যালুজ তো সেম না৷ দেশেও ড্রাগ্স, বিবাহবহির্ভূত সম্পর্ক হয়৷ কিন্তু এগুলো মেইনস্ট্রিম না।বিদেশে পড়ার জন্য বেস্ট৷ ইসলামিক ভ্যালুজে সন্তান বড় করার জন্য না। বিদেশে থাকলেই ইসলামিক ভ্যালুজের আলোকে খারাপ হয়ে যাবে কথাটা জেনারেলাইজড্ না, ৯৫% এর ক্ষেত্রেই খাটে। আমার হাইস্কুল ক্লাসের, জুনিয়র বা সিনিয়ার সব ক্লাসের (ঢাকার টপ ফাইভের একটা ইংরেজী মাধ্যম নাম বলতে চাচ্ছিনা) মোটামুটি সবাই বাইরে পড়ে, থাকে এবং দুর্ভাগ্যবশত ইসলামিক ভ্যালুজের আলোকে সবাই(১ জন বা ২ জন বাদে) বখে গেছে৷ এখন আপু আমার মাকসাত বা ইন্টেনশান আপনাকে ভুল প্রমাণ করা না৷ আপনি, আমি বা আমাদের যাদের কাছে Afterlife টা গুরুত্বপূর্ণ তাদের জন্য কেবল West না পুরো পৃথিবীটাই ঝুঁকিপূর্ণ হয়ে গেছে। বাংলাদেশে থেকে গুনাহ করার রেশিও আর পশ্চিমে থেকে গুনাহ করার রেশিও এর মাঝে আকাশ পাতাল তফাৎ আছে। কেউ যদি Afterlife কে Prefer না করে তাহলে সেটা ভিন্ন কথা। দেশের বিচারব্যবস্থা নিয়ে বললেন। Who controls it? Good discussion, @yahia amin. However, there are certain points I do not agree with: 1. Everyone has an immigrant at some point of their family tree. Humans and all other animals are moving from place to place in search of better resources. Yes, migration might cause an identity crisis and cultural clash, but that’s how new things emerge. German cuisine has evolved due to the high flux of Turkish immigration and now they have german-diner kebab. Words like “Girja”, “Kedara” in bangla actually came from Portuguese migrants in Bengal. Immigration is a very natural phenomenon, and there's nothing problematic about it. As the bedouin proverb goes “ I call it home, where my tent is”. 2. Being an immigrant is challenging, but I felt like this discussion was somehow normalizing “manchild” behavior of BD urban class people. If an 18+ year old needs to be taken care of by their parent’s, that's a problem no matter if it’s US, BD or antarctica. 3. This discussion totally avoided the power of “diaspora”. The most successful diaspora in the world is the Indian-diaspora, and India is absolutely benefiting from that. Check out Prime minister Modi’s visit to the US and the way he was received. A powerful diaspora is one of the prime contributing factors of India becoming a global power in the 21st century. 4. No! US universities are not about just sex (I did my undergrad) , it depends on the students. People who want to drink and party will do so anywhere in the world. I personally know women and men from Dhaka who go to Thailand and Malaysia for “cheap fun”. I would highly encourage you to do an in-depth research on BD universities (mostly NSU et al.). The thing is, no matter where you are or what system it is, at the end of the day, only a few will become successful (academically, morally, and spiritually). Also, making some early minor mistakes is necessary for learning, avoiding catastrophic disaster, and growing resilience
