I did the lesco turf paint on my cool season yard last early winter in an area as test spot and then again my entire front lawn at the end of Feb. It lasted for a while but I will never do it again. Just seemed it was a waste of $$ to get some instant green on 3,500 sqft. I applied with a battery back pack sprayer. I do use the turf paint during the growing season on occasion to customers lawns if they get an area that sustained some damage and I can make it green up right away. It does work great for that. If you do paint your lawn, just make sure you use cardboard as an edge guard along walk ways, driveway or anything not lawn, the stuff stains very bad.

I personally like the “brown carpet” dormant look during the fall and winter months, but you’re The Man. The Myth. The Legend when it comes to the lawn. Do it man!

I have used the paint for sports fields and residential & commercial properties that for one reason or the other they didn’t want to do an Over Seed. It stays on the turf until it starts growing out in the spring . Test a spot and see what you think of the color.

I say do a test section in the back. If it looks good, then paint it all! John, can you overseed zeon zoysia with PRG? I've wanted to do it, but I've been told that you shouldn't. Keep those videos coming. Great stuff!

Would be interesting to know what this paint is made of, and what it does (or does not) to your soil, soil bacterial life, if it reacts to other chemicals as fertilizers that is already in the soil. I know, I know, grass being in dormancy the paint wont kill the lawn, but whats the consequences? :D

Just do the back yard. See how long it will last. Then when you come to utah for our group Lawn Care Secission, maybe we can go to conners house and paint his yard Pink😍

Btw, it's not cheating to paint your lawn that goes dormant. Leave as much turf blades so the paint has areas to attach to. It doesn't work good if not a lot of grass blades present. I would of cut higher last cut.

If painting that grass is cheating, then I say Bermuda grass is a fraud because it turns brown every winter. I think painting it makes a lot more sense than overseeing with PRG every year
