What about sealing it if you are using other media on the glass? For example, I made a wine glass with my daughters thumbprints in the shape of a heart with vinyl words. I used acrylic paint for her thumbprints.

FINALLY! I feel like I have been singing out of the choir about this for soooo long! Everyone says seal it. And I did, on my first mug and I hated it to the point that I refused to make more. Finally started up again recently and no sealant works just fine! Question on printable HTV. Do you know if there is a way to seal it and/or make it weatherproof/waterproof before applying it?
Yay! So glad we could help. Also, with Printable HTV unfortunately you cannot seal it before applying like you can with Printable Vinyl. However, if it's going on something like a garden flag you can seal the whole project with Outdoor Mod Podge: amzn.to/3hgRn0I or something like that :)

From experience, no need to seal it but I use a heat gun to have the vinyl adhere to the glass better. The epoxy method is the only way to seal a cup but I'm too scared to play with epoxy even with protective gear 😖
Advice please. Have existing glass where letters are starting to peel. Do not know how it was cared for. The glass belonged to my bossea daughter, who unfortunately passed away recently. How can she save the glass?

Really, as long as you get a good brand, any adhesive vinyl will do well :) There is not that much of a difference between adhesives on the vinyls so really any is fine.
I used Cricut premium vinyl (permanent) on my glasses and I’m so scared it’s going to come off I didn’t learn about 651 until after I had completed my project. So what issues will I have once I wash them in water. I’m new to this any help will be appreciated.

I make epoxy coasters, but I am fully against using epoxy to coat. I don't think it's great to drink from a rim glass or tumblr that has epoxy at the top.
Epoxy is dishwasher safe and food safe after it's cured, per the FDA. However, everyone is entitled to their own opinion and safety comes first so please do whatever you're comfortable with :)

So, you can't mod podge before cutting, and if you did, that would still just be mod podge ON the vinyl, which wouldn't change a thing. To seal something is to apply it OVER the vinyl to seal the vinyl to the glass. Hope that makes sense! :)
I've been looking everywhere for a answer to a question. Please help! I want to add printable vinyl to shot glasses. Do I need to seal the printables before I put them on so there are no streaks? Also if I do that will it stay like regular vinyl? Thank you in advance.
if someone does decide to seal their glasses they should use....well i use epoxy and they dry crystal clear like glass. i would never use mod podge to seal a glass
Correct! All vinyl, unsealed, and exposed to water of any temp for long will affect the adhesive. But if you seal it, you create that layer of protection.
What about if you glitter the bottom of the glass? I’m made some for Christmas and had a beautiful silver glitter and I use mod podge and it dull it horribly.
Is it better to use the spray polyurethane or paint it on? I need to make ornaments and am wondering if I should use the spray polyurethane or Modge Podge.
Hello! So, much like the answer in this video, we don't really recommend sealing glass/plastic ornaments with vinyl on them. Unless you plan on hanging them in your yard, the vinyl will stay on just fine for years to come.
You can absolutely do that if you'd like. Probably the best looking way to seal a glass :) I did not deep dive into it in this video because really not a lot of people have tumbler turners.
I do epoxy cups and have the set up to do epoxy. Tried epoxy on a glitter wine glass and it was a complete fail and waste of my epoxy. After watching this I'll stick to just mod podge on the glitter and not the rest of the cup.
It would have been really helpful if you had shown all three sealers on the glass, not just the mod lodge. I watched that whole video expecting you to do that because you had three products. Really disappointing. Feels like I just watched a click bait video. Unsatisfying and did not deliver what was Implied by the title.
