▶If you collect Funko products then you know how hard it can be to kick the Funko addiction. You may have asked yourself that haunting question of... Should I stop collecting funko pops?😱 Well the brave souls in this video, did just that. They kicked the Funko addiction. I took a trip down the RU-vid Funko rabbit hole one day and came across a series of videos from RU-vidrs that claimed to have quit collecting Funko Pops. I was pretty surprised when I found these videos. I thought it would be not only educational but also fun to do something a little different than the typical Funko content. I think I have kicked the Funko addiction, myself. I've recently sold over half of my Funko Pop collection. And lately, the releases from Funko haven't really sparked my interest. Maybe I too, am done collecting Funko Pops. I don't know. But It's definitely good to know that I'm not the only one feeling like Funko isn't fun anymore. When I started collecting Funko Pops there was so much excitement. Now the variants out weight the fun and it just feels like an addiction now. I'm going to reach out to these former Funko-collecting RU-vidrs and see if we can get an update on what life is like after Funko, without, the Funko addiction weighing them down. I have linked their channels below. Give them a subscription and show them some support for not only taking a stand against Funko but also addiction.

I agree that they need to do fewer variants, like they start off with the common, then the diamond, then glitter diamond, glow in the dark, store/online site exclusives, and chase; all while being of the same same character/model with a slight change. They also take up a lot of space, which can be more overwhelming than anything else because it can make your room/home look like a hoarders place. Funko have also increased their prices, and comic con like events now tend charge like $20 more if you want to get a signature on a Funko, so all in all they're financially, time, and space consuming.

the FUNKO community reminds me ALOT of the sneaker head / hypebeast market in that IMO alot of ppl into FUNKO's just collect random FUNKO's they dont care about just to add to the total number of. I saw the exact same in the sneaker market when I did that for a few years. ALOT of people have FUNKO collections that are full of random shxt they dont care about. That's the Real issue. After some time of spending money on shxt you dont really care bout will leave U with a sour taste but its their fault imo. I started my collection and im 23 pieces in and every single FUNKO i have i desired, wanted and a fan of whether is an athlete or character. Just wasting ya time on random just to make ya collection look crazy

@@dblocknyc I definitely hear what you're saying. I've been a sneakerhead my whole life. 23 pieces is not a lot at all. Look at my video of my homeboy Charlie he has over 3,000 now. For me it really came down to Funko steady cash grabbing, using the same moles, it just wasn't as exciting for me anymore. But to each his own and I'm sure there are still new collectors emerging every day. Everything I had I desired I mainly collected movies. But at the end of the day they're all going now.

Thanks bro I appreciate the feedback.. The funko game is getting crazy you definitely have to limit yourself emit yourself. They aren't slowing down or stopping anytime soon.. I wouldn't say I've quit but I have sold a lot to get back some space and I am very selective on which ones I pick up.

Facts.. I feel like you have to set some rules for yourself... a lot of people get overwhelmed when they try to grab everything that releases. It's a little easier if you say " okay, I'm only going to collect the movies line and only movies I really like" or something like that. I've so glad that I've never wanted to be a completionist.

I get being overwhelmed but I found a solution to that. I got picky. I got picky about what Funko pops I absolutely wanted. I don’t get every single pop that comes out. Also it sounds like a lot of them are just complaining just to complain or they act like the only way to collect Funko pops is to be like everyone else or collect every single pop. Guess what you don’t have to. No one is forcing you to. You don’t have to collect every single Funko pop to be apart of the community. It honestly their reasons for wanting to quit collecting just sound like excuses to complain or they sound like people forced them to collect every single pop. Like quit if you want but don’t blame the entire community because of a choice you chose to make that no forced you to.

I know people who haven't missed a beat... me myself, I've slowed down a lot. I've noticed how they've been over producing and that's a issue for me. I like limited things not stuff anybody can go out and get with little to no effort. 😒 It's definitely not as exciting as it use to be, for me.

Definitely have to have self control in some form like limiting to a few series and not getting every variante. Thankfully funko hasnt been producing alot of unique and good looking ones that i like so easy to skip

I only try to get the best version of a character that I really like regardless of the sticker because not all Chase version looks good compared to their common version

You did a great job putting this together. Love the clips. They fit in nicely. Funko is like Kudzu you look around and it is everywhere. I stopped because I want to focus on something else Again, thanks you for the great content

I'm ready to quit after the b.s. box of fun I just got today. At least taking a break for quite a bit of time, tired of getting fcked by funko & other sellers that send fake garbage or try to rip me off.

For me personally collecting funko's used to be fun now not so much. That's just my opinion just as the people in the video are entitled to theirs. It's not about being babies. At this point in their collecting they feel it's worth the money or storage space it demands.

I stopped at around 60 a few years ago. havent gotten one since. I collect Zippo's now instead. Community is as good as gold, and they're far more interesting to look at imo.

Personally, I’ve never owned a single Funko Pop because I never understood the appeal of those soulless things. I dislike them so much, that I refuse to even own one of my favorite video game character, Spyro. I prefer the Spyro Totaku figures which I have all 4 of. I also have one of the Spyro statues by First 4 Figures, and even that’s way more visually appealing then a soulless piece of plastic with completely blacked out eyes and no personality.
