One of the most beautiful PJs in a long time. I have never played it, but I think I would really love this one as well. I really dig the PAVS but the shape of the beam somehow puts me off every once in a while.

Once again, I'm glad you gave this racket the attention it most certainly deserves. However, I fully support your decision to stay true to whiteout. Same story here. I have tested a bunch of rackers recently. And even decided to give Blade V6 a serious go, but ended up keeping my PS VS, eventually. Just for the record. The ball is actually in at 0:36))

I had same experience with Pure Strike VS after playing the majority of last 20 years with various isometric Yonex frames. The upper hoop feels really hollow and powerless on VS. I tend to have contact pretty high and close to the upper hoop too, there the best hitting area of Yonex-es is located. Lately most/all Yonex-es morphed into muted lifeless frames and I decided to try something else. Ended up with Wilson Shifts 315 (Pros) and have no mods on them apart from changing the stock grips. Tbh it took me a while to fully dial-in but the combination of really stiff hoop and throat flex on vertical swings is really unique and has an addictive feel. The clean contact from sweespot feels amazing and I finally ditched dampners so Shift gives better feedback and really solid hitting sound! I would disagree regarding the mods, I personally wouldn't consider switching to the racket I can't play in stock form with. Try finding the frame closest to your perfect specs, make sure it feels great and you play awesome tennis with it and then minimally mod it to match 2-4 frames that you have ;) cheers

So the Pure Strike VS (2022) served a purpose, even if it wasn't the one you thot. It tipped you to polarizing your Whiteouts even further up than 166rw. I have a feeling 171rw is gonna look good on you, and wear well. Especially if you pause from testing racquets and concentrate on form, which is gettin' smoother n' easier from one vid to the next. NICE.

Agree with the swing speed remark about the 316 to 330 I tested my ezones stock at 317 exhaustively. I found that 3 grams at 12 bringing it to 327 had zero downside. This took months of trying, yes no objective measures, but I am absolutely sold on the realization.

What string setups have you tried for PSVS? Last one I tried was MSV swift @21,5kg because of arm issues from injury but now that pain is gone I want something more control oriented. Swift felt too muted and was struggling to stay consistent. PSVS17 with Outlast @21,5kg felt way better but I plan to go higher in tension. PSVS17 with alu power @21,8kg(measured with an app, don't know tension from stringer, bought the racket from ebay with strings) and felt really good. PSVS22 with Kirchbaum super smash orange @24/23kg was ok at some point but then it became too stiff because of the injury and I switched them to swift.

I've only tried two and neither blew me away tbh. Super Smash Orange, which was installed by the previous owner, so probably lost tension in transit, and Toroline Absolute, both at 48lbs which is around your tension. I tried my friends with RPM Blast @ 53lbs when we were also testing the new 97 and that was definitely too tight for the racquet.

@@benjaminjensen111 playability is close but the hitting experience is different. Strike hits a bigger ball, more stable more powerful. WO feels faster, more connected, still stable and powerful for its specs, but at the end of the day, the Strike having a 23mm beam width in the hoop makes a big difference compared to the 21.7mm flat beam of the WO
@benjaminjensen111
@benjaminjensen111 4 месяца назад
@@TennCom Aha Size do matter. I plan to try the PSVS along side the PS 3.gen 16 x 19. I'll put on a leather grip on 16 x 19.... and head/hoop protective guard-tape on the VS. also possible to cut a thin stripe of 1-2 mm copper tape going from 10 to 2 at both sides of the string. and then with some stiff strings (Poly Pro/Focus Hex) in the 16 x 19 @ 53.... and high tension multi @ 59 in the VS. I guess there is a some trade off with both the WO and the PS. PS swings a tiny bit slower bc of the thicker beam but meets the ball stronger bc ditto and to match that power player has to swing the WO a bit faster. so if you are a big strong and a bit slower guy like me the PS 3.gen probably fits better. When I look at the user/buyer/customer feedback on the different shopping portals, the PS 3.gen gets a lot of almost holy praise with long eloborate writings. This tells me its a different kind of a stick as other sticks gets only stars and small sentences. I used to play table tennis and badminton a lot and we didnt think in feel and ball connection to the arm via the stick. We focused on where the ball ended up and with what force and angle we put in to get it there. I have taken that way of thinking and playing to the game of tennis. what matters to me is that I dont get injuries bc of vibrations. To me feel cant do much to the way I am playing. The brain pick up the "feel" only after the ball has exit the stringbed. So its only to me a matter of dopamine response regarding feel, as you feel if you did a good job hitting the ball. its a biscuit. The PS 3. gen is muted so that means player can use stiff durable strings and swing through without thinking of getting arm issues.

I demoed the PS VS and was not impressed at all. Felt hollow. 🤷‍♂️

I'd take the PS97 over the Strike VS now that I've customized the VS to a similar spec that the PS97 comes stock

I don't get the Tourna grip obsession though, I hate the color, the blue and the red tape, I don't like the fluff that comes off after using it, I don't like the texture as well, haha

i dont even know why i started using it tbh, i dont have sweaty hands, but now i dont like the feel of anything else so here we are

No you shouldn't, you left the extreme tour for it's lack of power yet it's more powerful than the strike VS. Should consider a 100 Sq inch frame like gravity tour / pro or customised speed mp (m thinking of sinner's choice)
@TennCom
@TennCom 7 месяцев назад
for me the Strike VS offers noticeably more power than my 360+ ET's but I would like something that's 100 square inches

Huge personal bias from my own experience but i think you should mildly customise the Aero 98 and get enjoyment from the confidence and style of tennis it unlocks for you. Might find you're happier with it as your home, pure strike vs a fun occasional distraction instead
@TennCom

The Aero 98 is a great racquet and I'm pretty sure I would win more matches with it than anything else. The thing is, I don't care about winning matches that much. Even if I have the Aero 98 in my bag, I don't yearn for it. I'll reach for my Whiteout every time.

Why the talk about a switch? It´s not that you are an ATP player and need to find the "perfect" racket. Bring 10 different rackets in your bag and just enjoy the sport :)

Wait. I thought the Solinco Whiteout 305 was the superior racquet among all those you've tested. No? Huh?

Please take no offense, but watching you play and looking at your physical attributes, I don’t think you are strong enough. I suspect you will not have a consistent weight of shot to pressure your opponent.
@TennCom
@TennCom 7 месяцев назад
It depends on the level I'm playing. I can pressure 4.5s pretty consistently throughout a match but in open level play I struggle against fitter opponents for sure.
@gholland75
@gholland75 7 месяцев назад
@@TennCom Great! But, I suppose, by your own statement it is entirely possible (probable?) that you also play at a level whereby you can't pressure 4.5s? Tennis demands consistency: not only on the court within a match, but match-to-match throughout the season/year. Of course, none of us are professionals so maybe it is more important to simply play with a racquet you love playing with.
