Hey! Was wonder if I could get some advice to my symptoms and believed diagnosis. 38 yrs old, really sore lower back and sacrum. History of lumbar back spasms since 21 yrs old (former college football). I believe my glutes have shut off since my 20s putting stress onto lumbar, hamstrings etc. 7 years ago did a 185lbs barbell hip thrust but brain-farted and led with abs instead of pushing into grown and igniting posterior chain (basically ab crunched it up) so I believe I kind of draw and quartered my low back and shut off my multifidus. Down hill since then. If I negate low back exercises I experience serious set back and I’m gaining weight. I believe I have atrophied lumbar multifidus, and scar tissue/arthritis wear multifidi connects to sacrum, and inactive glutes. I’m walking a lot which helps with pain and movement. Light squats and deadlifts for strengthening. Now looking into functional movement fitness (maybe). If my diagnosis is correct , at 38 can I ever expect to get regular functionality back (80% sprint without back going out) if I find the right approach?

A bit of an embarrassing question but does sex or masturbation affect joints and back ,i play football (soccer) ive always been told that it hurts ur speed and reactions and performs and it causes pain in the long run , is there any truth to this , keep up the good work

No truth what so ever to any negative affect on your joints and back. Sex and masturbation are healthy and you should engage regularly. There may be a temporary change in hormones and emotions short term afterward (more love, relaxation, less anger, more positive feelings - why it's called "making love") so you may consider refraining around competition time if you find you rely on anger and other aggressive emotions to perform :) Ultimately belief predicts outcome so work to shift your belief toward trusting that sexual recreation is healthy and can help you perform better.
