I made a bundle from Super micro computer. As soon as Parkev recamended taking profits i sold all my shares right away. Of course this Professor was right on the money because shortly after this stock started to crash down. ❤😂🎉

I was watching SMCI from when it was at $270, watched it go all the way up to $1000 and then finally decided to buy in... just before it crashed. Now im DCAing down, ACB is at $700 now, but still a little worried since it keeps breaking new support levels.

Any thoughts on Q&A in the last earnings call? I think management is unsure how to handle analysit questions, probably lack experience since they just gained so much attention in past year. Definitely need to see margin expansion and perhaps shorter cash conversion in next quarter.

I’m not nearly as knowledgeable as our good friend Parkev but I’ve been dollar costing down share by share. Mine is a bit higher than yours, around $800, but I would love to get it in the $700-780 range. I think with the projected numbers they presented, this stock will rebound as it’s p/e will continue to hold low at a higher price

I bought at 810 and I bought 500 shares. Using all my cash I had from my house sale. But I need my cash back by December as I bought a smaller house they are building and they will finish it in December. Do you think it will be back in the $800s by December. Or really the 80s with the split. Really risked my family here on this stock. Was trying to make $100k off of it. Before December so my house would be cash buy. Very worried that I cost my family our new home and we will be homeless as I am down over 320 points.

If what you're saying is true I really suggest to avoid the stock market or at least avoid single stocks. You can't gamble on $40k if that's all you have. At least you had to put a stop loss.

Acquiring market share pays its Borden in profitability, and this is the case of SMCI. Investors are less impressed from the company revenue and are seeking to see higher profitability. This is the main issue that SMCI will have to handle in the coming quarters

Re SMCI can someone tell me, how much tech is required to make motherboards and server racks? Hard to imagine they have any sustainable moat, and they are just riding the AI wave from Nvidia which will be shortlived as new entrants come into the market with server racks and motherboards. Players like HP and Dell. Am I missing something?

In agreement, you can see the lack of a sustainable competitive advantage from the profit margins that they have. A gross profit margin of around 14.13% and a net profit margin of 8.09% as at year end of 2024 does not suggest a MOAT. Mean reversion will also take its place as they have gained a lot of market share and were extremely profitable for the past 2 years but this type of economic profit tends to attract other companies who will enter the market with the hope of making similar profits and reduce SMCI's market share. They have successfully riden the AI wave but hvae ammounted tons of debt and can barely manage to generate enough FCF to pay it down. Looks like a hype stock on AI. Once all of that growth dissipates, they will have a hard time staying on their feet.

Over the past few months, announcing a stock split would trigger rabid buying. Now you lose a few hundred points. What a shit show. The market sucks right now. Too much volatility and the S&P Oscillator is just staring to go negative meaning there is more selling on the horizon. Stay safe out there.

If you can DCA, I would. You may have to hold it until the market catches a bid. I’m in with an average of $541 with 30 shares and I may DCA around $475 if it gets there. Next time around, go lighter on your share sizes or follow a stop out price. I have to better it as well. I hope this helps. 👌

@@tjurostas3704 Dollar Cost Average. This way, you can lower your average on the trade, but you’ll have to put more capital. Search it online. If SMCI trades around the low $400s, I’d say it’s a good time to DCA in with 30 or 40 shares.
