My second favorite monster in the series. I ran his jester gear as my endgame layered armor and it looks so cool. easily the best looking and coolest bird wyvern, and my copium pick for wilds
yes i want fight a cool a owl monster, i feel the MH series is lacking of owl monsters and a few fixes, Malfestio will be a fun monster to fight with the update combat system.
Pls do one for Najarala. I think we might get sneks back based on some arts that shows up when the map is opened. You can see a snake like monster wrapped around what seems to be some sort of branch.
@@RathalosWatch The fight ain't too grand or anything but its physiology and behavior would fit wilds imo. Maybe with some changes she could be a good monster to bring back
Malfestio would be perfect for the upper layers of the scarlet forest especially with him being a nocturnal monster. I could see him showing up in the fallow period where everything is more dark and dreary.
I’d love to see Malfestio in Wilds, owls are my favorite type of bird and being the only true owl monster in the franchise makes him very unique. Since the reveal Malfestio has been on my want list for Wilds so I really hope they add him
I would love the unique monster fights to come back, this being one of them, afaik this is the only monster with the debuff it has, confusion or whatever its actually called, I would also like to see seltas and queen come back, just watching the seltas use the queen as a megazord type deal was so cool the first time I saw it, also narjarala just because I really liked how much that fight made it feel like I was fighting an actual snake plus its the sole snake wyvern as of this moment
I love this guy, he's the most bird like bird wyvern. Honestly wouldn't be shocked that much if they added morel ike him and reclassified him as a fully more avian creature type. He doesn't even have scales, unlike other wyverns. In old concept art of rathalos there is mention of a bird like rival to rathalos, perhaps a hawk or eagle monster concept. I would love to see that and the team are no strangers to revisiting old concepts after a very long time. Wilds could easily have him sleeping in the trees, the scarlet forest has sections we saw that are higher in the tree canopy. The deviant is really cool, Cotton from Rage Gaming put it best, he's a bard that multi-classed into a rogue. Oh my sweet summer child, confusion status only inverts movement controls. I remember a hellish DLC boss fight in a great Star Wars action game where it had the ability to not only invert movement controls but also remap everything else on your control, exclusing only the menu buttons and the camera controls. This fight was also on a very small platform where if you fell off you took a lot of damage, not to mention the damage from the boss itself. I personally would love to see more monsters with confusion. An idea I've been messing with for years is a pack viper using confusion paired with one of the status ailments that doesn't do much on its own but punishes you for taking a hit afterwords. That way there is synergy as that hit is more punishing but also easier for the monster to land as you are confused. Candidates for the status are; thunder blight for stun, blast, defense down, and bleed (Rise version). Bubble blight could also work for another monster but it doesn't fit this motif that well. The main concept was a den of vipers in the desert that combine the idea of snake venom and a delirious state form heat stroke. Bleed probably is the most fitting, given its effects' synergy but also in how viper venom typically works in the real world. Have its fast movement and contact with it's body do little damage but cause bleed and any bites from the large or small monsters cause confusion. I realize this is backwards on the effects of the bite and other hazards but that's the fun of this little twist.
I loved malfestio, with the color scheme and style but I feel with the current way monster hunter has ben straying from wacky armor and weapons with unique designs. It won't be certian. but see'ing some older monsters return i'd love to see a "confusing twist" xD
Malfestio would be awesome. Plus Having his variant as a Grank version would beo cool to see. I feel like they could easily make him more beautiful, challenging, and more varied in wilds. My only problem with malfestio is the same problem I have with gammoth. The move sets were really repetitive. Which to be fair a lot of old monsters have that. Even the really good ones. But for mafistio its a lot more glaring because his frame makes it easier to hit weak points like his head even when at his side. So I'm actually hoping they make him a little bit bigger.
Never fighted it, but definitely like how it looks :D And if not Malfestio, I say we should get a new owl monster instead (Something based on a Snowy Owl could be cool for a mountain map)
I definitely think malfestio should return to scarlet forest it would be a good fit for the plenty period for the local and give us some diversity for the ecosystem.
OMG YES, they should even add another owl monster, this time based on a barn owl (and i'm totally not saying this because the barn owl is my favorite animal)
I definitely want Malfestio to return, both because it is a cool underutilized monster and because we can always use more bird wyverns as they are the best group. Not sure if Confusion would fly in modern Monster Hunter though, with being out of position being a lot more punishing and no more running away to other areas to wait it out. They could rework Confusion with disabling the use of items like the soiled status or they could just go all in on sleep with Malfestio after all Hypnosis is a sleep-inducing move in Pokemon. Alternatively they could make the Confusion a stun or daze mechanic. As for ecology it would be totally fitting for it to come out at night only or have changed behavior depending on time of day, taking smaller prey and being more passive during the day and taking larger prey and being more aggressive at night. Definitely at home in the Scarlet Forest as the Windward Plains are too open for this ambush predator even at night.
@@thenerdbeast7375 it would never survive in the Windward Plains. There are like no trees lol so yeah, I agree. As for confusion, idk I am sure they could figure something out or maybe have him go full thief mode?
Just a thought, you cover the monsters and moves, maybe if you went over armor and usually associated skills then bring up how you think that skill set might work in world or if it wouldn’t work at all
@@joshualockhart8986 valid concern. However, the decoration system is completely different in Monster Hunter Wilds. Offensive skills no longer are on the armor and are now on weapons. So it would be a waste of time to discuss that because we don't know how the armor skill system actually works now and how they are changing the armor stuff.
Samurai Showdown 2 was the first time I saw reverse control status effect. I think it was an attack from nicotine caffeine that would cause it. I always enjoyed it because you can still fight effective if you can rewire your brain.
Love Malefestio! Love the gameplay where the hunter is rocking greatsword. People ask me what my main is..."come on bro it's in the name...GREATSWORD" ANYWAY Malfestio for a returning monster would be good
ok hear me out, durambos might be a giant boring rock. but the first time i hunted him and saw him helicopter ontop of my hunter is a moment i will never forget.
This owl looks beautiful. I would love to fight him and get pissed off at him mugging me left and right my first time through not to mention the confusion mechanic would be very unique and interesting to overcome. I say bring him back.
Malfestio is literally just a big owl which behave nothing like actual owl so its really hard to justify without full moveset redesign. . Owl are strictly ambush predator with the iconic silent wingflap not a brutal bruiser like the other flying wyvern family, and its really hard to design moveset for a stealth-based monster without introducing very specific gimmick
Let me know if you believe that Malfestio should be returning to Monster Hunter Wilds and what other monsters would you want me to cover in future episodes! Also feel free to join our official Discord Community for some MH Wilds Talk! discord.gg/gQceDfBZcC
the monsters i want to see are congolala(alredy seen its been added :D), malfestio, qurupeco(i think thats waht its called, bascaly the flint/trumpet bird from tri), lagiacrus, and gore magal(unlikely cos was in rise), also in a perfect world no overusedalos/an also something that will probobly never happen but athal ka
What is Gulp Crown Size? I‘m sure I‘m just mishearing, but I can‘t find the word on google to see what it means. Is it tail to nose? Is ist size when stretched? Is it size from feet to head? In natural or upright position? Please someone explain :(
@RathalosWatch that's what I'm talking about. There are so many monsters, and I know they have the skeletons. They have done nothing but merch for the anniversary, making this game the Gen Ultimate of the Gen. The fans will love you for it
@@houseofthehuntinghorn1433 I hope they'll do another Celebration game for 2034 when Monster Hunter turns 30 years old or maybe for 2029 when it turns 25. God I am feeling old thinking about that...
@@sonicplague3643 Ah, that's right. Maybe because it was the monster in GU that I had to really understand the game to just overcome it. Still getting close to Ahtal-Ka, or at least tying.
@@michaelmontalvo7441 I am well aware. But most of the consensus is that World had the worst roster out of all the MH titles according to the majority of the MH fans. I am simply giving you facts. What you find likeable or not is all up to you.
I hate the confusion effect, it’s really annoying. If Capcom reworks that effect a bit, then I guess I am fine with Malfestio returning. Otherwise,I really don’t want to see it again.
Don't even need to watch the video to sat yes the Scarlet forest is perfect for it already and it's one of the more unique bird wyverns there is not to mention is one of the few bird wyverns that actually looks like a bird complete with feathers too that more then most bird wyverns
Honestly no, I don't want Malfestio in any future Monster Hunter game, as outside of looks Malfestio does nothing to distinguish itself as an owl. Instead of playing into the traits of owls to differentiate itself from any other non-raptorial bird wyvern, they just made a bird wyvern that just happens to look like an owl. Seregios ended up being a better owl than Malfestio since he at least uses his zygodactyl feet in combat for rapid sweeping kicks like an owl swooping in to catch it's prey. If they are going to make an owl monster in Wilds I would prefer one that actually acts like an owl, not just looks like one.
@@RathalosWatch Which is fine, my issues are purely with it being so un-owl-like in behavior outside of the 180 head rotation. If I removed that and then model swapped for a Hypnocatrice subspecies no one would know it was based on an owl by behavior. It feels like a waste for the first attempt at an owl, even if it was by the portable team.
@@sonicplague3643 funny hearing that as a first fleeter. But tbh, and if you played enough MH, you should know there are monsters that you swipe the floor with and other you can’t get a hang on it. That differs from player to player. I bet there are monsters you can’t get a hold of it. Oh and btw I never carted even once against that psycho Owl. I just don’t like it. That’s all. Call that skill issue if you want. 🤷♂️
@@RathalosWatch i really like the design, and unpopular opinion I like it's upside down mechanic. And most of all it's a fucking owl, everyone likes owls
@@RathalosWatch in my opinion it looks more like a Pokémon rather than something that belongs to Monster Hunter, very generic imo, another reason why I don’t like Kulu Yaku, a bit more of the same
