A) Israelis have been taught that Arabs mean them harm B) Israel has been trying to have the whole thing, they'll resent the Palestinians and that they're the majority, and C) they know, like the Dutch in SA, how badly they've treated the Palestinians, they'll sleep with one eye open, expecting these people to do the same.

I really wish these tv journalists would do the research and see the absolutely horrible things that the military has done to Palestinian Civilians- Like branding a man's face with the star of David when 16 officers went to arrest him ( all of their bodycams apparently malfunctioned) and he resisted- nothing happened to them-they were excused-they did what they had to because the man was resisting, what about the soldiers at the checkpoints who can clearly see someone needs medical attention but won't let them through because they don't have the required paperwork, what about the soldier who just acquitted after shooting a 32-year-old autistic man at a border crossing? what about the children the soldiers put into a headlock to arrest because they threw stones. what about the houses the soldiers raid in the middle of the night for fun, laughing at the children who pee their pants because they are terrified, what about the soldier who comes in a bulldozer to bulldoze a Palestinian's home to give that land to an Israeli, What about the family who lived is the west bank where the mother took her kids to visit their grandparents in Gaza and for 5 years has not been allowed to leave Gaza return to her husband? what about those atrocities? in the 20 years that Hamas has been in "power" there are a number of years where there have been no Israeli casualties, but the Palestinians, have yet to have a year where death and destruction do not fall upon them at the hands of the Israeli Soldiers. What about being the only country in the world that tries kids in Military courts? what about the hundreds of Palestinians who are held in Israeli jails with no charge and no trial....It seems to me that the atrocities that Hamas committed on Oct 7th were no more brutal than what Israeli soldiers have done to them for years and years. On top of that what most people don't know is that according to the UN 2023 was on track to be the deadliest year for Palestinians since they started recording fatalities in 2005. Why is it that the government can do those things to a group of people and it's just security measures but when a group of fighters come from a group of oppressed people and inflict the same pain as they've been given they are terrorists? I wonder why they want to wipe Israel off the map? If it was Uganda committing an apartheid against them, they would want to wipe Uganda off the map too. So I'm done with this whole idea that it's because they're Jewish, They can't proclaim to be a Jewish State when it suits them and then cry anti-Semitism when they are judged as a Jewish State.

We would hope that someone with your insight and understanding of the history of this 75 year siege could help to form the Intervention and Mediation Team to put the "roadmap" into action. Indeed we citizens here in the US are daily becoming more aware of the atrocities that started in 1948 with David Ben Gurion and continues today with Netanhayu, the "bully despot." Our eyes are being opened daily to what our US leadership has been enabling and supporting since 1948. And we are estonished that Biden is so entrenched with the propaganda lies of Netanhayu and his cronies. You indeed are spot that the current regime in Israel does need to be ousted and the so called "State of Israel " as it has existed since 1948 needs to end. I have to also agree that as horrendous as the attack was by the Hamas forces on 10/7 that it was "Resistance" and not terrorism. The "Terrorism" is coming from The State of Israel. Our country knows about Resistance and Freedom Fighters for these were the people who helped to found our Democracy. While it is a well intended idea on paper, it would never work. Changing the name from Israel to Palestine to begin with would be a lot of violence. There's so much bad blood between the two peoples that violence would be a daily affair everywhere and would likely make everyone live with their own all the time under fear of getting killed if you enter the other's turf. Who would control Jerusalem would be another huge problem to sort and once more violence is the likely outcome. Jewish companies will not hire palestinian labor unless forced to do so and I don't see that happening on a large scale. Palestinians would also demand back a lot of land currently occupied by jewish settlers, so more violence to evict them. Palestinians exiled in other countries would demand to get back in turning them into a sudden super majority that could make the jewish people feel their very existence under threat. So more violence. Palestinians being a majority would also likely elect their own into power and such power would tempt said authorities to exact vengeance on the jewish. So more violence. The nuclear arsenal of the country would have to be removed and surrendered to the US as for it not being used irresponsibly as in seeing warheads transferred to Iran or other nations. The same for a lot of the IDF arsenal of weapons like fighter jets and mssile systems. This guy says we have a good example in South Africa about how to end apartheid and reconcile two different ethnic groups in a country. But forgets to mention that South Africa is inching closer to be a failed state where practical apartheid never really ended and segregation is still widespread. And South Africa was lucky that religion wasn't a big factor in their differences or else civil war would have been unleashed in earnest. So all in all, the only practical solution to this mess is the Two States one with a huge concrete wall between the two. Any other just leads to more violence and bloodshed.

Not under a Zionist state. I vividly recall recall Edouard Saïd defending that approach in an interview in late 1980’s and explaining Israel was a theocracy and not the democracy it proclaims to be.

I see too many people who see this conflict from the notion of scriptures talking about Israel and how much God stands with it. What they fail to see or realize is the Old Testament Israel isn't the political state that is now called Israel. Too many are not making distinctions or taking the Old Testament scriptures into content. Nor are they understanding that orthodox practicing Jews are just a small percentage of the population. They have thrown their faith and support into something that they really don't understand and an idea that has gone dreadfully wrong for so many reasons. There could be light there for all. But equality and safety for all its citizens should be the guiding principle for that to occur.

Yes we should. My solution is the "30 million solution" - All jews and all palestinians will have a right of return to a one democratic country. The constitution will gurantee that forever all jews and all palestinians will be accepted in such a state so that a situation like 1930's where nobody in the world accepted jews, and a situation like now where no one accepts palestinian refugees from Gaza, will never happen again.

Regarding the question about the day before Oct 7 - I want to point out that for decades NO ONE has interviewed Israeli citizens or supporters for Israel, about the daily injustices, including extrajudicial killings, inflicted on all Palestinians in West Bank, Gaza, East Jerusalem. To my recollection, no one has been asked "are these injustices sustainable, and to what end is Israel prepared to bear in consequences as an apartheid oppressor?" Terrorism is in the eye of the beholder and those without sin may cast the first stone.
