I don't think it's the same as taking away the buy button, that created panic selling and fear. Voluntarily stopping buying for a while wouldn't create the same fear that broker's taking away the ability to buy would. That said I have no idea if it's a good plan or not, but am keeping an open mind about it. If our buy orders are helping them it's a good idea to at least consider it...
Keeping an open mind is a herculean task in a climate where folks take any contrary opinion and immediately try to bury it under "FUD". As you stated GME failed because folks panic sold, not necessarily the removal of buying.

Market makers are naked shorting, which is legal for them, but they take the risks when they naked short against your buy order. Over running their inventory with options and shares is what made it run up to $75.

If you are buying shares, buy them on LIT exchanges only.. But STOP buying stupid FAR OTM option plays with short DTE(Days To Expire), you are just handing them your money each week. If you're doing option plays LEARN how to do them correctly, pay more and have time on your side.

I think the idea is if we can keep the price stagnant then they can't use call options or puts to make any money to offset there losing position. I am not going anywhere until shorts cover, simple as that.

Question of the year: When are shorts going to be covered?? I have been holding since last May. To be honest, I don’t think any of the AMC RU-vidrs know anything other than “trying” to make educated guesses. I will be amazed if AMC ever runs back up to $70plus/ share! If it does, I’ll be there to get my portion, but I’m having a hard time believing, AMC will ever be worth too much more than $80-90 dollars/share. The rich stay rich for a reason, they are evil! IF AMC ends with thousands of dollars/ share, it will be the greatest transfer of wealth this “World” has ever seen. I’m slightly pessimistic that this transfer of dollars will ever happen?!?? I truly believe that this is the message people should be giving.. avoid RH and WB for starters. Research other brokerage firms on whether they put buy orders ONLY through lit exchanges and if so, participate with them. Avoid PFOF at all cost!
I have been wanting to transfer to fidelity for a long time but just haven’t yet even though I hate Robinhood at least as a company. Is fidelity easy to trade with and navigate? I haven’t bought with Robinhood since the summer cause I want to go through a lot exchange.
But how can you get real shares even through the LIT EXCHANGE when there are none available ? If the LIT Exchanges honours your order they would be synthetic . But In all this your broker has to forward your order in the first place and as you all know this is rarely happening, so the continued buying is not exerting and upward pressure in the first place.

@@zero_x93 because there's not as much liquidity as you think... Most of the volume comes from computer trading and doesn't help with buying pressure at all, computers just trading with eachother... And I don't think institutions are buying shares every minute. What would probably happen is short sellers will go ham on the stock
If they don't deliver the share to you with the T2 settlement it becomes an FTD abd still has to be bought. For Lou and his followers to think not but is just ridiculous learn market structure or just like Trey said not a great idea to stop buying.

They took the buy button during squeeze conditions. This ensures sell orders only. We are currently not in squeeze conditions. You stop buying and no one is selling either! Reduces liquidity. The funds can't hide their foul play. Trey your inexperience is showing here sorry man. Even Peter Hann and Cringle have said that low volume is key. Respectfully trey, when we buy there is someone selling if they are making synthetic shares in the option chain and are racking up ftds doesn't that mean there is no buying pressure because they are making shares. They create them we give them money for them. If they aren't on the books they can sideline the data. They don't exist remember. I think there's something to it but I can't prove it. They could use the money to short. If we don't buy and there isn't any shares left they would be forced to cover because they wouldn't be able to manufacture shares then get paid for them , they would stay in house amount the funds and bleed them.

I never chime in on YT, but I want to for this, and I come in peace. I am a January ape at 5-9 dollar average, been here day in, day out and a prominent contributor to the subreddit. I watched Trey's rise with AMC too and love him for it as a fellow veteran (Army pride). One, there's nothing wrong with agreeing with Lou. He's done absolutely nothing but remain loyal to the cause and has supported apes' mental health through the whole ordeal - same as Trey. Second, he did not say dont buy. He went out of his way to say thats not his place. He said they're using our buy orders to dilute the stock - AND THEY ARE. We've watched it for a year now. Buy, hold, drs, yes, but buying is no longer helping. The opponent changed their strategy, we have to as well. Simple game theory. It's being parked off market and being used to CREATE synthetics, which the computer can't tell are fakes. It is diluting us. HOLDING and DRSing are the way. You do you. Trey and the other superchatters -They're making bigger money on options - up and down - they manipulate the price with hype and reap the rewards going both ways.
The theory is that since the shares are already owned, continued buying allows market makers to create more synthetics therefore diluting the shares. That is utter nonsense because a synthetic long position is created by selling a naked put for cash then using that cash to buy a call option at the same strike and expiry as the put thereby mimicking the profit/loss of a real share. Synthetics are made through OPTIONS not buying shares. So if you're worried about them creating synthetics then not buying doesn't change anything. Secondly, the only way ANY stock goes up is through buying pressure. If synthetics are being created thats great news for AMC investors because it will mean the stock will explode to rediculous levels when shorts cover unless investors stop buying.
Oh amd the reason AA can't create a token to track shares or squeeze shorts is because that is illegal. Infact the only company that ever did that was Overstock and they were sued but only won the case because they were able to prove the token wasn't created to squeeze shorts. In AMCs cases because people wouldn't shut up about creating an NFT or crypto token to squeeze shorts, AMC would 100% lose the case and its affects would be devastating to the company. Didn‘t they take the buy button already „away“ by keeping all the orders in a secondary system??? So by even buying more and more and more the position grows BUT the real buying pressure is held back by the MM and used to finance their short position. So my 2 cents on that, think about it
Exactly so with the buys not being reflected in price (if buying from a broker that’s not direct to exchange like RH, and Webull) but our sells are, we are diluting the price. And Options expiring out the money are just funding them

Absolutely true, people have to remember youtubers get paid for the topic of AMC. Alot of youtubers grew their name around AMC. Some youtubers dont mind prolonging the wait. All of these influencers are collecting the bag off of AMC. I appreciate alot of youtubers such as trey, but right now the only trust worthy in my opinion is Lou vs Wall Street
