I'm not sure I'd have the bottle to be filmed in a different car, strange area...hope Louis passes his test, good luck to him 🙂 ...I still watch this channel way after getting my licence, so much can still be learned, thanks for the videos Chris 🙂
I love this channel. Came to my recommendations after long time. Learnt many things and it helped to gain confidence when I was learning in school and applied for licence in 2017.
Hi Chris!! I’ve watched your videos for a while, I’ve finally passed first time!! With 5 minors. Felt wrong to not say thank you for all your teachings. All the best
Hi! Thanks for your comment and congratulations to you on passing your driving test. Appreciate you watching our videos. Keep up the safe driving and enjoy it 🙂
Your videos are the best I have ever seen and I wish you was my driving instructor Chris. You have the most calming voice and are so thorough with all your explanations. I have my second test on Tuesday in an automatic (I see you are manual only 😔) so trying to stay positive and take all the advice you keep giving. Thank you !!👍😁
That’s my local area! So many 20 zones, used to hate learning to drive and having angry drivers get right up your backside cos they want to do double that. Passed earlier this year your videos helped a lot.
I had my 18th lesson today, i drove a mix of reg roads, A roads and dual carriage ways aswell (in the pouring rain fun!) I love these vids, it reassures me that i am test ready, im just having about 6 or 7 more hours practice before my test in 6weeks (id prob have more but my instructors wife is dropping a sprog and im not mean enough to say no u will drag ur sleep deprived self out to teach me lol!) My only issue is i feel rushed at busy junctions and stall purely because i rush. Now i seem to have fixed that, im confident of a pass, looking forward to my mock test tbh but if i could get to one of u guys id do one with u in a heartbeat!
I adore your channel, its quite useful and interesting. I think that you were a bit harsh with Louis giving him a serious fault on a roundabout that doesn't have two lanes painted on the road.
Hi! What's harsher? Him failing the real driving test for not knowing to keep in position (whether there's markings or not) or worse hitting the driver/rider next to him? Or Louis knowing now it's a serious mistake and needs to be improved on? Thanks for watching :)
I watch so many of these videos , it’s interesting to see in some areas test routes you literally don’t get over 30 mph and drive round residential streets and town the whole time , my routes where I will be taking mine I have town , residential, country roads , dual carriageway which will I will be expected to get up to 70mph , just doesn’t seem fair to me
Funny how many people think they can drive - have the test booked already when they are clearly not ready. It’s best to have plenty of lessons and practice really so you can relax in the end and pass first time with no problems.
I don't think the bus lane part was very fair, there was other cars lined up there too, not just buses! I suppose at certain times of day people can use that lane?
@@worlddriving but he was at risk ,The driver was right in that position, but that pedestrian was confused, any way thanks for made this video good and helpful for me as a new learner
At 22:30 you can see the pedestrian has stopped on the pavement. Louis should've kept an eye on the pedestrian in case she didn't stop. It's not a pedestrian crossing and she wasn't in the road :)
Unfortunately nerves are natural and nearly everyone gets nervous before the driving test. Try to look at the test as just a challenge (one that you can redo as many times as necessary), a chance to show off what you've been learning to somebody else. The thought of doing the test is a lot worse than actually doing it. Once you get driving then the nerves normally fade away. Don't forget that the examiners are trained to be friendly and put you at ease. Good luck 🙂
@@worlddriving thanks for answer, i have nearly 40 hours of lessons, i'm booked on 16 august to my driving test, i'm just worried about eyesight to see the plates 😂😂 do they come with a meter to see if is 20 meters ?
24.35 Turns left at mini-roundabout forcing motorcyclist to slow down. With continuous traffic from right. I think he chose to move off when he did because of the red car approaching from the right signalling intention of turning left, producing a slightly bigger gap in the flow. He would have been better off turning out when a right turning car from the left blocked the flow provided an extended gap in the flow. In essence overall, you do not want to turn out where second vehicle is a motorcyclist either because they can some times overtake a left turner. This is all only if the flow never ceases and a decent gap never materialises.
I’ve been watching these videos over the past few weeks in anticipation for my test today. I passed with 3 minors! I wouldn’t have done it without these, they really put me at ease and showed me what to expect. So thank you so much, keep doing these videos - they’re incredibly helpful!
Hi! Thanks for your nice comment. Congratulations to you on passing your driving test. Great news. Keep up the safe driving and appreciate you taking the time to watch our videos :)
I passed my driving test on the 25th July 2019 with only 1 miner fault at Greenford test centre, i was over the moon.. Watching this video, i just realised how easy it is to rack up serious and miner faults because of other road users sometimes.. All the best to Louis for whenever his test is..
@@spikey0034 no i didnt get the Oxford roundabout tips i could give u is do your mirrors checks and just relax be aware all around you you'll pass just do what your driving instructor has told u you'll ace it
failed my test for a similar thing was waiting at a roundabout cuz it was busy and a woman with a pushchair had already walked slightly into the road already but then hesitated I did the hand gesture for them to cross bearing in mind I was stationary and apparently that’s classed as a serious driving fault like what the fuck £64 flushed down the toilet all for just trying to do someone a favour 🤣
Brilliant video. I have seen some of this mocks and I am always missing someone explainning what is going on (half of the time I do not understand why the driver is getting minors) but this si very clear.
Many drivers would have found themselves inadvertently straying towards 30 on that interminable and needless 20 stretch. Presumably, it was a 30 for a long time; had he gone at 25ish then, he'd still have been failed - for going too slowly for the conditions! Something has gone wrong when we're slashing so many speed limits to speeds which only incompetent drivers would have chosen before the limit change. I struggle to believe that safety is really the priority here. If they're doing it to make motoring less attractive then they should say so, and then people can vote for that if they want it.
Hi thank you for doing these videos, you really helped me pass my test in December 2018 with only 2 minors. Massive help and I keep coming back for extra guidance to this day. :)
Got your driving channel just one day before my test. Your videos were very helpful for my test as I passed my driving test today with 5 minors. Thank you sir
I especially like to watch mock tests as I passed my real test a few years ago. Don't have to worry about that stress. The test in the UK is more difficult than it is in North America for sure!
@@jzk2020 It is a box ticking exercise, MSPSL and other rules whilst driving, that will help you pass. It's easy in practise, sure, but If you're nervous during the test, I'm sure 9/10 people will forget something, that's why you're allowed 15 faults.
One of the new rule states "At a junction you should give way to pedestrians crossing or waiting to cross a road into which or from which you are turning." No need to stop for the golfers as they aren't at a junction.
Any idea why he blurred the pedestrian standing near the curb (22:48) and not the one who tried to cross the road before? Is it some sort of Internet law?
Didn't check his right blind spot on the park on right and reverse. I got a minor fault for that on my test I saw the examiner check it for me, that was nice of him.
I passed my driving test for the first time! I’m really grateful for all you’ve taught me with this videos, you’re really helpful, thank you so much :)
Wish I could take my test there!! Must be ok taking a driving test but not having going over 30 mph 🙄 I will be on dual carriageways, country roads, towns and residential on mine
I believe stopping for a pedestrian waiting to cross could be unsafe in many situations. You may stop but would a driver turning into the junction or approaching the junction from the other direction? The pedestrian wouldn't know this rule and could rush across without checking if safe. The DVSA hasn't thought of the dangers.
thats just looking for excuses to fail someone. The pedastrian could step out on the road and only realized at the last instant. He did well to be careful of the worse case scenario. Thats just DVSA and driving instructor companies milking people
Some driving instructors should be struck off. It's not acceptable he's this bad at driving when he's got 20 days until his test. You were super lenient on him too.
My instructor told me that if another car for whatever reason felt the need to overtake me whilst giving way to a pedestrian, and that car then hit that pedestrian, that it's my fault.
Oops I did it all time during my lessons and my instructor sometimes agreed to and sometimes no but I’ve never known why? Thank you guys for the explanation is really helped me a lot. Thank you again
I think the hesitation to enter was justified as she went to the kerb with the intention of going. But once she had became aware of your presence and stopped, you should have gone. You only give way if someone is already crossing the road. It is your priority and your obstructing people behind you. It is a major fault because the second car behind him had to slow/stop due to this. The car directly behind him would have had to stop anyway due to the necessary hesitation which means that it would simply be a minor fault if the second car had not come along. Goes to show how the driving test can come down to luck.
Interesting. Here in the Netherlands you'd be expected to always give way to traffic going straight on the same road when making a turn. So the lady crossing the road would actually have the right of way here. Also I noticed there was this lady with a cane, and in the Netherlands you'd have to stop for her as well because of the "impaired mobility." The rule summary on the ANWB site for the UK doesn't list those differences either ...
I think it's not a good idea to change lane just before a junction anyway, as a car coming out of the junction may not be expecting it. So could have signalled after passing the junction then changed lane
26:56 yes I agree that is why you check your mirrors. BUT he shouldn't of been overtaking near a junction, and the motorbikes spoons was horrible for the traffic he was in
That's epic, congrats on passing your driving test with only 3 minors! Our videos were your co-pilots, and we're happy to have been a part of your success story. Keep shining on the road, superstar!
This was quite interesting and good for me to learn with. I've had a little difficulty with gears and clutch on my lesson. What was interesting to me was a couple of serious faults happened after 4faults then serious compared to zytas test. Also Chris you forgot to say at end thank you to everyone who's bought us coffees. Please remember Chris you are my best online instructor for learning to drive safely 😉👍.
Hi! There isn't any specific rule as for how many driving faults equal a serious. Zyta made the same fault almost constantly (should check mirrors before signal) within a short space of time which would be regarded as a serious fault. Thanks for the reminder about the coffees, they're always appreciated. Especially helpful to get through the long editing!
Your welcome and I totally understand. Mirrors checked is what I and my mother totally understand for safety when driving. I'd also love a mock test video with you too Chris 🙂. I live in Suffolk though so I don't know if I could
never seen this route on your channel but it looks beastly. i will contact you soon if we can do a mock test as my real driving test is on the 17th of september.
It covers bromley, beckenham not really difficult when you get used to it on ur driving lessons Bromley court hotel driving centre covers some of this route.
Hi , at 7:26 there is a car in the bus lane ?? Not surprised it’s confusing to people to work out which lane you need to be in , thought it was all traffic turns left ?
I let a Pedestrian cross me today in my lesson and I instantly realised what I’d done and I was so annoyed with myself! Definitely won’t make that mistake again😂
