A little context on Rice. He went on an 0-22 streak at the end of the year, and it was obviously a result of him hitting the freshman wall. Especially when you consider the fact that he just battled through lymphoma the year before. If you take out that streak, he shot 33%. He should be stronger this year, so shooting 33%+ is easily within his range, and probably expected from him. That's more than adequate as your PG. Pair him with Kanaan Carlyle, now IU has that tough, dynamic, playmaking backcourt that should help with spacing and shot creation. Guard play was the weakest part, along with perimeter shooting, on IU's team last year, and Woody most definitely has addressed that.
I think you guys do a good job working together. Like the chemistry and the West Coast view from Andy. You should try and have him on more often! Good work!
Coach has proven he can sign big names and make some big splashes….however nothing he has done with his teams on the court has scared anyone but Purdue two seasons ago.
Teams should not be scared of Indiana as the reality is they have yet to do anything on the court. Kudos to Woodson and his staff for signing some great players over the last month.
If we get Goode for the bench we'll be pretty darn good if he and Galloway Newton cupps would be good to get a big and another proven shooter but I think we are good even not
No team or teams should be afraid of Indiana for one reason and that reason is Mike Woodson. Anyone that says college basketball runs from the inside out has no feel for the college game. He refuses to adjust and the more people call for adjustments the less likely it is that he will do it. He would rather prove someone wrong than do what he knows is right!
Fans tend to be very optimistic with all the roster additions but the bottom-line is Woody must change the offense. Play the same offense as the prior three years and those same fans will not be pleased with an underachieving team. My hopes are that Woodson makes some changes in the offense. We'll see.
