Desmond Bane is our guy! I also think it’s shortsighted to call Mitchell better. I do agree, at this moment, Mitchell is all around better, but Desmond Bane is one of the best 3 point shooters in the league. Last season he had half the defense on him AND HE STILL IMPROVED. What is he going to look like when the defense has to double Ja, keep close to Jaren and god willing a lob threat center? All of a sudden, Des goes from being swarmed to open. I think Bane is about to have a season. We are talking a guy, under normal circumstances, can shoot 43% from 3, but also can create plays and take it to the hole. If we develop GG at small forward? Man, if we can get GG shooting 38% from 3? That’s only a 2% bump. All of a sudden, you have 3 guys out there that are viable 3 point threats. JJJ 35%, GG 36%, Bane 41%. The floor starts getting wide open for Ja, good willing we have a center that can throw some screens. All these guys were under so much coverage last season and that simply has to change with a healthy team. If that dynamic adds 2% to our 3 point shooters? Now we are a team that is elite from 3 as opposed to one of the worst.

Chemistry matters (ask Phoenix) so we should not rock the boat on the chemistry built by our Big 3. Also, Bane has not yet peaked in his career

DEFINITELY would not take Mitchell in Memphis. There is only one ball. And as far as Allen goes, I'd rather have Clingan or Edey and keep Smart. And honestly, I think I'd rather have Edey even though Clingan is valued higher. That food injury scares me and I love the idea of Edey setting screens and sealing off his man in the paint to clear the lane. Also going to be hard to keep off of the boards.

Make mo sense Mitchell need a big guard to play with to excel. For the trade to work you would trade Ja for Mitchell which on paper we would be really good. But doing that make no sense because you lose playmaking for. A team standpoint which would show in the playoffs. But both miss a decent amount of games. Also just like Ja winning a championship with a offense first guard don’t win championships unless you Stephen curry

The Grizzlies should consider trading for Donovan Mitchell only if it helps the Nets by providing them with a superstar. While Mikal Bridges is a great player, he's not a superstar. In return, the Grizzlies should receive Mikal Bridges, who would be a better fit in the Grizzlies starting lineup than he is for the Nets. Additionally, both teams could find ways to strengthen their rosters and shed some salary in the process.

Claxton will probably get $20M per year in free agency this summer. IMO that is more center than the Grizzlies need since he is only needed for rim protection, rebounding, and setting screens. That is a $14M per year center at the most. A thicker big big seems to be a better fit next to JJJ. Andre Drummond is still one of the best per minute rebounders in the NBA. And would cost only $5M per year at the most. Drafting the long-term center to grow into the starting role makes the most sense to me. A salary cap dilemma is only a few years away. The roster needs to continue to incorporate cost controlled rookie contracts to keep the core.

Still going 2 need a center that runs because we run & Claxton scores mostly off being assisted. Size doesn't matter production does. Claxton hadn't played with a 4 that pulls the other 4 away like Jaren. Claxton could average 10 rebs & we'd be cool because we have rebounding guards but need 2 help Jaren weakness with it. As far as the bag that's why Luke, Ziaire, Clarke & etc about 2 be gone. Grizz only have a 2 or 3 yr window with most this roster before having 2 blow it up again

trade for a 6" 1' SG on a team that has two all star guards already? You're not winning the west without big men on your team. If you want to live in the reality of the eastern conference then cover an eastern conference team. Memphis plays in the west

We could’ve traded smart instead of Steve-O for the same reason to free up the exception, we are still at the same place trying to get a center and we still have to make a trade, for example, smart or Luke to trade. Should’ve kept Steve. Adams and we would’ve had a chance to win it all
