The typical student now leaves University with a staggering £45,000 of debt - this compares to just £10,000 in 2007.

I agree with Lowri on this. I rarely agree with her but this time she is right. We need more apprenticeships. We need much more non academic training options.

@@petermizon4344 Yes but they did courses that were useful. Apprenticeships were much better. I did a classic apprenticeship in the 1950s. 5 years as a jig and tool maker with tech college for a city and guilds. Later I worked in 7 developing countries as a small industries hands-on technical advisor, 17 years of which was with the UN.

It might be a better idea to help students in academic university courses. Not for courses that won't get them a job after leaving. We need more nurses and doctors.

Yes but the real question should be is what is deterring white British people from wanting to do this, as I’ve noticed most health and social care jobs are usually attractive to mostly to ethnic minorities especially specialist services.

Think it's a disgrace so u start off at primary school then move into section school then after thst go off to university then lump off with debt yeah not going yo happening
