I was at the Damien Lillard's 55 point game against Denver where Austin Rivers was praying to the lord. That shit was truly incredible, 1 man against an entire team and as soon as he shot the ball you always knew it was going in

Best performance I seen was Jaren Jackson Jr score 36 at Brooklyn his rookie season. He hit a 4 point play and then a 3 in the final minute to send the game to OT. Mike Conley had 37 and 10 in that game as well.

as a Aussie i felt like the fiba was disappointing for us going in as the number 2 ranked team then not even making a medal spot. And on that over here it’s such a big thing for us aussies when we’re in these events for any spot bc we win some golds but it ain’t the big time sports that we all love that we win gold in. a good example for that is us last olympics we won bronze which we had never done and our country went insane for it. where i feel like some of those other countries that have won a few gold medals it’s like good but not crazy if that all makes sense. i hope you guys could read this in your next podcast i know it’ll be outdated but i just wanna hear yours guys thoughts about it!!!

As a european, i found it extremly surprising the US keeps making the same mistake over and over again, and when they lose, they find so many excuses about not sending the A TEAM (which is the problem) when the Olympics finals was decided by 5 points vs a team that lost in groups this world cup. You also dont get how bad people support their country at all .

me personally, i dont think its that big of a deal. the last time we were in the fiba tourni we didnt win it all im pretty sure and nb cared at that time, the only reason its even the talk of the town rn is cuz of what noah said and now everyones overreacting to it, but we still qualified for the olympics, and we did that with sending our what some would call our "c team" out there. as long as we qualify i truly dont think it matters cuz we always send the big dawgs out to play in the one that truly matters and we usually win that. thats just my take and opinion on it tho

as a non-american ive only ever been to one game live but it was a good one. 2013-14 season. it was a warriors-nuggets game, the one where iggy pulled off his nasty crossover on quincy miller. crazy game, too. warriors led by 20+ at the half, but the nuggs came back to tie. steph hit a floater to give them a 1 point lead with 4.5 seconds left, kenneth faried hit his own floater with .5 seconds left, nuggets won.

#dropthemike, I'm a spurs fan, but a few seasons ago I had an opportunity to watch Jokic from the 3rd row, and I couldn't even tell you what the final score was but jokic had 35/17/8 and Markus Howard had a random 21 pointer off the bench, spurs took a beating but I still had a great time, my priority that day was to watch jokic in person. If anyone Is able to watch the joker in person, I'd highly recommend it, watching him up close is like watching an artist, he never stops talking, he's always directing everything at all times, it's nuts.

The best performance i’ve seen in person was definitely Steph in the conference semis vs my rockets, he had 0 points in the first half and then came out in the second half and had 33. Definitely crushed me as a rockets fan since this game eliminated us.

What Kenny is talking about with the HoF happens in the stricter halls too. Hell the NFL anniversary team left off Adrian Peterson, maybe the best RB in the history of the sport , got left off for 4 dudes who all have under 6k yards in their career. Earl Clark got on with less than 4k! HoFs often try to counter balance the fact that players naturally get better over time, and usually it results in over correction with 10 different guys in a hall all innovating the exact same thing

Another unmentioned CRAZY run by a player was Brandon Jennings first 12 NBA games. Dude came in as a supposed project, skinny PG who couldn’t even get playing time in Europe, was averaging 25 and 7, had the 55 point game, and seemed like not only was he gonna be a sure fire HOF player at that point, but that he might be a top 10 nba player then and there. And then he promptly fell back down to earth when teams realized he couldn’t go right, finish at the rim, and his jumper stopped falling consistently.

I have two games for the Drop the Mike: Both Thunder games. I went with my college chorale group to sing the national anthem, and it was a Kevin Durant game winner against the Magic during the 2015-16 season. The second game was Thunder vs Bucks, and Giannis scored a bucket where it looked like he stepped out of bounds, but the refs called it in. That was during the Melo, PG, and Westbrook time; I think Melo got fined for comments after the game

New players lose so much of their bag in the older era. Like example the Palming rule, your hand had to always be on top of the ball or else it was carry. Try playing like that and you’ll understand why they was stiff

Sadly our basketball has gotten a lot worse in the next 3 decades, starting with Dražen Petrović dying in a car crash the year after those Olympics. Luckily our football (soccer) success has picked up the slack.
