New to this channel? We do reviews but also throw in some opinion pieces like this video. Nothing here is right or wrong, it's merely a way to create a place for discussion on what I thought was an interesting phenomenon going on these last few years. It feels like gaming has lost a little magic these days and it's in much part down to the way we consume the industry we all love. But does this make it all bad? Well, over to you in the comments! Love Reggie xxx
Very good way of putting it CG. Cant agree more. Palworld fizzled out in a hot minute. Would love to see more of these type of videos on top of the reviews. Well done on the 5K subs
Thank you mate and comments like this tell me many untold truths. They are gold dust for me. Knowing the video landed well, I’ll try and smatter in the odd opinion style video on top of reviews… something analytics can never tell me. So appreciate the comment. Thank you
Thanks CG. I honestly feel like you are S tier gaming reviewer. Look forward to your more than any others I watch. Really feel like you have the potential to be up there with the best so keep at it!
Well said. FOMO for me is real. Hadn't connected the subscription component though. With Xbox Live as an example, who cares how long I play a game? One could download and play as long as friends were playing, then drop it and move onto the next one. Your pub analogy is an apt one as the temptation is to sample as many as possible without committing to one and risking missing out, bringing it back again to FOMO. I'm subscribing and excited to see what else you have.
Lovely comment, and appreciate you subbing too mate. A mix of reviews and opinion pieces on the channel so hoping you find something you enjoy. Thanks again, cheers 🍻
i feel like you're focused on percentages instead of just looking at raw numbers, lethal company's still running at 20k players which is definitely pretty damn good and palworld is still at 79k daily peak, there's a still a lot of people who care about those games, even if most have left. this really isn't new or even bad imo, it's just how game or media in general naturally run their course, you get a giant number of players at first and then it stabilizes way below that when people who are late/love the game keep playing. no, really, look at for example, resident evil 7's steam charts, it's the same thing you claim is new almost a whole decade ago.
Well said mate and some great points. As mentioned, this video is really just a place to get that discussion going so these points are fair. I do feel though, the percentages really represent how we as gamers now consume games. The pick up and drop style of gaming is a very unique way of playing vs 10 years back. Subscription gaming has definitely encouraged that. Back in the day, games were played and then replayed for a long time, much down to the fact we had fewer choices. Now though not so much… which is why we get these absolute mad explosions and sudden drop offs of player bases. But your points are more than valid mate. Well said.
@@cockneygamer oh i think i accidentaly came across too negatively, no hate to you, you raise some interesting points, i'm just trying to offer my perspective. i don't think this percentage difference is really that new though, pick any random popular game from 10 years ago and look at it's steam charts, most of them follow the same trend. Not to say that your broader point is incorrect, it might be, but i don't think that's an indicator.
@swan-cloud oh not at all mate and not negative either… you said it very courteously. I love gaming and love to just put something out there for discussion… my opinion is no more valid than anyone else’s so I appreciate you taking the time to comment. I think a LOT of people will agree with your take over mine and that’s all good… that’s the beauty of healthy discussion!
