Our founder Matteo Bergamini talks on Sky News about lowering the voting age to 16, on All Out Politics with Adam Boulton and Indy Journalist Benedict Spence.
The average adult is not competent to vote, thats how we got the abomination of brexit. The vote should be restricted to people who have a degree in politics, the less people who can vote the better.
Its a well known fact that the youth have far more socialist views. So labour will simply pander to that vote. This will come at the cost of the tax payers middle aged mainly men.
Absolutely not kids will vote for whoever influences them the most what the hell is next FREE ICE CREAM FOR ALL! free videogame days every month! jesus Christ get a grip if they want to loose all there rights as children and start paying tax then absolutely let them vote then they will know what it's like to live in the real world and will have there own opinion and not what there you tube influencer tells them to do FFS!.
I agree with what you say, most people my age I know will see one post on Instagram and vote Green/Labour etc. I’m 15 and I pay taxes now. I think anyone in the UK who pays taxes should legally be allowed to vote. After all, this year 20% of anything I earn over 12,500 will go to different causes. I deserve a say in where that money goes.
One’s reasoning for voting isn’t a prerequisite for them to be able to vote-a person who’s fifty years old can vote for no other reason than they saw somebody on tv say that so and so was a good person…
Absolutely not! The voting age needs to be upped to 21 or 25 in my opinion. Young people aren't informed enough and know almost nothing about politics. I remember being 18 and in school and it was general election year. People were voting Conservative because their favourite colour was blue! Most people have no idea what they're voting for until their mid-twenties. This is ridiculous!
Your right to vote isn’t determined based on your reasons to vote-50 year olds can vote because they like the color blue and nobody can nor should stop that
