We had some fun on this Copart walk around video! First up, the 1966 Chrysler Imperial straight out of the Green Hornet TV show! I'll show you the cool features and explain just how easy it would be to restore. Then I'll show you a 2010 Volvo XC60, and a 2003 Mercedes ML350 and tell you why it's a great choice if you're looking for a 4x4 vehicle!

Mike the Imperial needs restored. This could be a cool group effort between you and Randy. Get it in his shop and you guys find something like a 5.7 hemi or bigger and put this back on the road again. I think it would make for some awesome content.

That '66 Imperial is straight and it's all there except for the motor and trans. You could probably find a motorhome 440 and 727 Torqueflight and drop it in, and cruise!
@gregbrown4962
@gregbrown4962 6 месяцев назад
The Imperial would have had either a 413 or 440 big block. The best way to find an engine would be to find someone who would be scrapping an older motorhome. Many of them were Chrysler powered. Its worth fixing imo

Mike, if you want to get some views. That Imperial will definitely get you views. Someone took the motor and trans out for a project car. If you wanted to put a motor and trans in that car whether it be a mopar motor or like you said a LS swap you would have a really unique ride. It has some really cool options and its in great shape. You don't find cars like that anymore. I know your not into putting motors in cars but with some help you could get it done. think about it! ✌

Hi Monkey Wrench Mike, wow your video today brought back a lot of memories. I'm 66 now but back when I was a kid my father was a traveling sales rep for Manley popcorn co. He was a big guy and loved the big cars plus he had a family wife and 3 kids. He had been driving a 1962 Lincoln Continental (which I loved) but he had put a lot of miles on it and traded it in on a 1966 Chrysler Imperial Crown Coupe, white with a red leather interior. Now my dad's car was a coupe and he hated that since he had 3 kids but he loved everything else about it. The car had all the options and a gas guzzling 440 cu in engine, I can't remember what kind of gas mileage it got and it didn't matter since gas was cheap, but if it got 10 miles to the gallon it was probably going downhill with the wind at it's back. Beautiful car and very comfortable. Now I love the green color on this car, since the 440 is gone you could probably find one to replace it or maybe you and Randy could drop a Hell Cat Engine in it or a Viper engine would be cool if you can find one and if it would fit. What ever you do it would be fun to watch it be put back on the road. I'm pretty sure you are correct on the green hornet except his was called black beauty and it was black, also the extra switches on the windows are for the wing windows, yes power wing windows, very cool. These old Imperials are great cars and very collectable, it's ashamed this one is missing it's motor (heart). It would be a great project but a lot a work and time not to mention money, think long and hard on this one and don't pay too much. Good luck. 😀✌❤ I about to forget a couple of details, the steering wheel has tilt and telescoping wheel, the telescoping wheel you have to losen the ring around the horn buttton, or where the horn button should be and it will allow the wheel to telescope then tighten the ring back up to lock into place, also the door armrests have a unique feature they are hinged on the door so they lift up and they have storage in there, I think Chrysler called them map pockets but they would be a good place to hide contraband or whatever you would want, I see you found those Thanks again. 😀✌❤

Hey Mike awesome video that is one bad ass imperial. One of my classmates back in the days of high school had one of these and it was bad ass. But sadly someone stole it from him. It used to his grandfather's and then his dad owned it and then gave to him. So it went from generation to generation. I think the imperial would be a good choice for you. The previous owners / owners took good care of that Imperial. That was back when they didn't scrimp on steel, and didn't care what a car weighed. Actually just the opposite, the more it weighed the better . You would have to move all of your other cars out of your back yard just so that would fit 😎😎

Imperial was it's own name, not Chrysler Imperials until years later. Green Hornet was a 65 I think. Those were really tame by that year, older ones are way cooler. (Rear view mirror on the dash, etc.) Some two doors had crown insignias and were called "Crown coupes" Any big block mopar engine and 727 trans would bolt right in.
