Oh hell yes this should be saved! We have a '69 Newport that runs 11 second quarter miles and a '69 Town and Country that did run 10.30s but is close to ready go go deep into the 9s (we are Wagons of Steel!). There is nothing more satisfying than slaying Camaros with a C body Mopar! You're going to need a Dana (we get them from old pick up trucks). Both of our C bodies are green. The 300 has hidden headlights! You don't have enough projects, you can always use more.

100% needs to be added to the fleet. Cause one it's on your bucket list and the other not everyday one comes across a 69 300 in decent shape

You should keep the 300! So a lot of them pull trailers with race cars to the track and home back in the day.

The 300's are becoming increasingly rare. They were equipped with a 375hp 440 high performance engine; too bad it's gone. Oddly I have always wanted to see someone put a Pentastar v6 in one of these land yachts just to see how it would do, you know, for the sake of science...lol. I am and have always been a big fan of the "C" body Chrysler products. If it were me personally, I would drop a 5.2 magnum with an overdrive transmission from an 88 to 90 dodge truck, a 4-barrel intake, and maybe a Holley sniper 2, accompanied by a mild cam. Basically, a cruiser that gets decent fuel MPG's. No matter what you do, this old beast needs to live again. Great video, thanks for sharing.

Love C bodies!!!! These are sleepers quick,comfortable cars..Back in the 80's and 90's they were my daily drivers and beat the then new 5.0 5 speed Fox Body Mustangs..and other muscle cars 383 B bodies and 396 Chevelles and 390 Fords were easy prey and people assume big cars are slow as the 72-80's big cars were smog engines,low compression, low power engines. My stock 69 New Yorker with the factory 440 TNT (most had the 350 hp 440 with the 595 holley 4bbl) TNT is the Magnum/Super Commando engine..I loved that car,sold it in 1993 for a 69 Charger 383 (still have it) and then found a mint 1968 300 2 door 440(still have it) and have a 70 300 2 door factory triple black and 440 TNT, console, rallye wheels very hard to find took 6 years and 1,900 miles to get it! In my early 50's and as a teen I always loved C bodies.

I love it! It would be really cool to lift it up, n-50×15 gragars on the back, and 15×3's on the front. 440 with a tunnel ram and two 4's! Keep it green. Just my thoughts! Wow, that hemi with the stack injection would be the coolest in the 300!

Holy shit, we rebuilt the engine on one in shop class 30 years ago. Being the early 90s everyone was drooling over the trunk and fantasizing over how huge of a bass cabinet could fit in it

Save it, brother ! Teenage memories here . My brother had a 70 , blue , black top and interior 383 , auto , that he bought off our neighbor (1981)... What a beautiful beast ,lol.... I remember him turning the air cleaner cover upside down so it got that loud sucking sound from the carb when you put your foot in it 😂 ... Good times ! "She's a beaut Clark , a real beaut" ,,,hehehe

You have not experienced true Nirvana until you take a well tuned 440 Chrysler 300 down a highway at 80 miles an hour and you "float" down the road. Can't be beat for long trips. Save it Jed!

Man...Ya know, I used to hate on the C-bodies...But now? A nice 2dr hardtop C-body would make a helluva highway cruiser. My wife hates my Jeep for long trips...She'd probably hate this just as much, but it's cool.

I say, build a MONSTER cubic inch stroker big block set up for MONSTER HUGE low end torque. Then keep the torque converter really tight, and keep the rear end gears high, RV/truck cam, and some of those REALLY long cross ram manifolds, long tube headers with dual exhaust. I think we'd all be pretty surprised in how fast it would be. If you use brute torque to make a vehicle fast, by using tall rear end gears, a heavy vehicle doesn't really slow it down very much. But don't get me wrong, making it lighter will still help it be faster though.

You have to save that 300. Any vehicle of that vintage is worth saving.

My grandmother had a 70 Newport, big block, blue on blue with a white vinyl top I got to ride in it once as a kid. And in the early 90s it was taken by a garage fire, I always thought that car was so cool!.

I like the 66 cause that's the year I was born. My sister had one that was silver with black vinyl top.Some old man ran a stop sign in fort Scott t-boned the right door and fender.He hit her so hard it bent the dash,she was mad she had got it tagged that morning.

I used to have a 71 Chrysler Newport Royal 2door hardtop that the body was identical to the 1 you have. I didn't know they looked the same for 3yrs. Mine didn't have hidden headlights but the car was in mint condition with the big block engine and transmission missing. I put a 318 engine from a 72 satellite in the car so I'd have a ride but I always wanted a 440 with a 4speed in the car but it never happened and I don't remember what I did with the car cause I've had so many of em that I tend to lose track of what I done with em lol..I love that body style and everyone wanted me to make a Hurst clone but I like the Newport Royal name better cause that's what the car was..

I'd say buy it, look for lower quarter panels if possible. So ya dont have to buy full ones. Looks like front floor pans. Not sure about rockers but you've dealt with this stuff before.

Take these recommendations with the warning that I am a long time C body fan. I vote save it and feature it in your videos. (Unless you have way to get it to my house) Some thoughts: Green is not a bad color. Most people have never seen one when the paint was new, so they have no idea. I would certainly keep green for the interior and maybe the exterior. A wise old sage (I think it was I ) once said: In the 60's we had black and white TV and color cars. Now it is the other way around." No flat paint on a luxury car, or plain black wheels or dog dishes.There are lots of good styled wheels, including the C Body tiny slot 16 x6 inch Road Wheels. Painting it like a cop car is wrong on so many many levels. The upholstery in 69 has simple square patterns , so it would be more easy to duplicate or repair. I BELIEVE that is one of the few C bodies that has replacement seat covers available. Don't change the interior to black. There is just way too much to change and no good options to do it. Last, do not try to pull a car on a car trailer. Unless it is a go cart on an all aluminum trailer. While it is true that the full size cars of that era were the best of all time at towing, your car isn't a good choice. The Full frame Mercurys and especially the GM cars were better. Also, when you see pictures of guy hauling stock eliminator cars like a 68 Super Stock Dart behind a Chrysler , it is always a Town and Country Station Wagon. Never a two door. The frames were stronger and they recommended 8 ply tires (Light truck tires) C bodies have long leaf springs that are more prone to deforming permanently when over loaded than any other car. You would need: Load equalizing hitch with sway control. trailer brakes on both trailer axles, LT tires Finally, I think it is about time someone put a 426 Hemi in a C body. Even if you take it out later, it would be a good build to watch.

I know it's not same car but you paint it black and put some heavy duty air shocks in the ass end and put some chrome steelies in the rear end and make look like rabbit mans car from the film thunderbolt and Lightfoot

Fix all the holes and make it solid again, like you said a paint job, put a strong engine in there and a good set of rims and tires will set her free

A 2 door 300 hell yeah, hide a way headlights and buckets, very cool. They don't have much support from the aftermarket, which is too bad but that's part of the adventure. 👍👍👍

Wow they only made like 16k there can't he many left. The original one engine was 10:1 comp. It was a beast it had to be the car weighs 4200 pounds. Sad part is lack of desirable because average auction price is only 15k. It certainly gonna be a labor of love you'll never get a return on but I say do it.. She's a bit uty when pristine. I love it in the red. Mom had a Plymouth fury 3 I loved that car but she didn't keep it long I think she got it for a hundred bucks it was mint. She sold it so she had to have made money off it but that land yacht only had a 318 in it.

My standard answer to the majority of these projects, unless the rust is so bad @ frame rails & quarters, everything mechanical can always be replaced or bolted on. I'm going to say, fix this one.👍

I am a firm believer is saving every old car that can be saved. What there is is all there will ever be, since new cars are no longer being made, and will never be made again. All you can get new anymore are computers on wheels with built in spy systems, cameras and microphones, 24/7 WiFi connections, driver interference systems, TOTAL GARBAGE. That car would be beyond me, I'm not into bodywork, especially when it involves rust. I live in AZ, and every project car I've ever had has been pretty much rust free. But if you can save it, PLEASE DO!
