cs aim doesn't have the same strategies as you would aiming on rust at all, you're hardly moving your mouse on cs. Might have good mouse control tho from years of experience
i hate how much max and the raiders were discounting the defense from the custom base. they definitely had aim skills from CS and their weird unorthodox base and location threw off the raiders gameplan. max spent basically the whole build phase laughing and roasting their design and when they won the defense all they got was, "the location did 90% of the work for you". not to mention it was basically built by one player and a slacker and still survived the 20,000hr crew. give some props were props are due man.
Custom build guys were absolute beamers, and played their base well. Even though they have low hours their defense was clean 👏 big kudos to them for defending against a 20k hour group, fun to watch gents
An idea as to determining the number of rockets, let the raiders and defenders spin (like spinning for scrap in out post) for the number of rockets the raiders get (One team member per team spins one time and then those two numbers get added theres the number of rockets.). First thing great video, now I find it just so amazing, as to what these players can build even though they have "low" hours. As usual great video Sir, job well done to all involved.
So I really guess there should be a design doctrine here. Few important things. 1. You are fighting a superior group 2. You have practically infinite materials So I would suggest a very large base, with lots of places to flank and lots of guessing for the raiders. Like build 5 different towers or something. So practically if guerilla warfare became a rust base.
Have defenders scatter small amounts of boom within the base that raiders can loot. Realistically when you raid bases, you usually use the boom from their base to help finish the raid
after watching a bunch of your videos max , i have to explain what external TC's do for you because you seem to think that its only to push building priv away from your base to prevent raiders to build , the MAIN goal of external tc's is to prevent them to break your MAIN TC and grief your base / take it over / pick up deployables (IE Workbenches) . that way you can rebuild easily after a raid by disconnecting floorframes (assuming you built them correctly) or by eco raiding each externals , then placing main tc back , then all externals again . if you wanna get a good building block radius , put down foundations from each externals going out on each sides of em nearly connecting them !
I just make my bases huge and confusing. Random is better. Tc always goes on second floor and loot on the third or 4th in a spot along the outside wall. Unless you get ripped in half they never find shit.
I often use RU-vid builds, but I modify them to be my own. There's no such thing as a perfect build and most RU-vid builds are about looks and not real functionality. Also, I don't think players can turn off smart switches without TC. Not sure if anyone said that yet. But two Tesla's aren't going to do much damage lmao
I think thought out funky once you've gotten comfortable with building even via RU-vid, even if not having the tricks as second nature will always confuse and create a stronger base overall unless they're over prepped to go straight through walls regardless of course. Not everything has to be meta, I like seeing bases with some flare and personal touch. I'm less likely to actually raid them and rather get to know my neighbours. Then id they're a douche I'll raid them if possible 😅
33 minutes in. This raid kills me inside. Im a farm bot with around 2k hours. This is is just sad to watch. 50 rockets. Just bummel wtf... Finished it. The youtube bases are actually good for defending an online raid. So most of the times they will get offlined. Overall interessting and sometimes cringe video but i loved it! Please give me more videos like this!
Here is an idea: Host a server with 100 players or more but delete all the recyclers then place just one in the heavy radiation red card room of launch site. That would make one hell of a chaotic battle. Launch Site is already a pp hot zone but it could be so much more.
weird designs will always be the best.i have no idea of what i'm building. and neither do they! that's way better than having a base that everyone knows where my tc and loot is.
i dont think the rocket counts for both were enough, if they were real online raids on a normal server they would of had brought 10-20 more from the start. still great video keep up the great work
Something else I would like would be more limitations. Like 10 sachels 4 c4 10 rockets. Smaller bases. More about precision. Maybe even off line style. To see if they can find the loot.
What I do is like, build a youtube base once to experience it and then I change it to how I feel it fits me the best so I know what’s good or bad about it, I’m not good so I can’t do something good from scratch 😭😭😭
I'm Always free build in RUST. I watch Wiljum and others, But only take ideas from different bases. And i try to keep my base Small to medium size. Then add dubble honeycomb dubble roof at least. And a lot of shotgun traps and auto turrets. And tricky to navigate. And i hide the good loot away from my base. Because i play solo 80% of the time. It's a hard life Solo in Rust. hehe
Its kinda hard to watch all the youtube base builds, plus if you have moderate amount of building skills you can pick out the stronger ones, customize it and you have solid base, Som YT bases are just garbage, but others are just solid and in most cases i've seen raiders avoid those bases, i cant tell when last i've been successfully offlined, you got to really piss someone off or build huge base which always get raided. I'm always solo so i dont build huge bases.
Most low hour players have only been offlined. So defending isn’t something they are comfortable with yet. You should allow a 1 hour grace period of no building and allowing the defenders to get a chance to run there own base a couple times. It looked like they didn’t know what to do or how to defend due to lack of experience.
max i got a few questions for you cuz i would love to be part of one of these video's. is there bgrade? is there a base limit like can i have a china wall and a funnel wall? I have 3k hours in building and have a buddy who has helped me build before and ahhh i want to build in one of the video's.
