There is a really common issue with these MacBook's that is essentially unfixable due to the fact a chip fails inside the machine and decides to send 12V to the SSD chips instead of the 5V they need causing your data to be instantly wiped and as someone mentioned a smoldering fire inside your machine. This was due to an engineering error that Apple is yet to fix (and as it's been 5 years probably will never) as these machines were rushed out of R&D pretty quickly. Me personally although these are gorgeous and look better don't constantly want to be living on edge about my laptop smoldering and my data being wiped so using the 13 inch versions without the defects is a better choice for relability imo.
@megatronskneecap I could definitely say that this isn't the most reliable laptop. Sometimes for no reason apps crash. However, I think at this price point it is a very impressive device and it's still just a really nice device to use for leisure and entertainment
@@TheAnnoorAt that point you're paying £500 + £200 for a likley SSD fix and it just becomes a thing off I can get a used £700 M1 MacBook Air which is 100x more reliable than this will ever be.
I look macbook pretty bad for gaming but as the last macbook can use bootcamp can you test gaming preformance of this laptop in 2024 ??? Thank you so much
@thetanduong7012 I had issues using bootcamp and windows, my laptop has intel uhd graphics so already weak for gaming. The 2019 i7 is a good processor do for cpu intensive games like minecraft, it actually runs really nice but for other games it's terrible, can barely run
need to check but it shows battery status is healthy. The battery is manageable on light tasks, but anything heavy, I find it unreliable. I can't take it anywhere without a charger, again it might be my battery
@@TheAnnoor thats true i did buy mine from Best buy so they most likely may have changed the battery. Also i bought it with 64 gbs of ram. How do You think thats gonna alter my experience in comparison w yours
not willing to sacrifice the screen size hence was looking for a second hand macbook with a bigger screen which still holds value, been using a 13 inch screen for over 4 years, my perspective changed when i used my friend’s 2019 macbook pro 16 inches, i am looking fir a second hand laptop to serve for my college needs, nothing crazy and neither do i intend on carrying it everyday so battery usnt a big thing for me, watching movies, editing 4k videos occasionally, for reels or something shot for iphone, browsing the internet max 5 tabs open at a time, not a huge multitasking guy, so was considering the 16inches mbp 2019, since the value and the large screen, 13 inches would be going back to the same size, what do you feel would be a good option fir my case scenario? Thanks and what is your battery cycle count since you purchased it second hand, thanks
@anupammahato1 I have checked the battery count but it shows healthy stays. If that's your use case, I think you will really enjoy the 2019 16 inch mbpro, its gonna be abit heavy, bad battery and the fans can be loud. Practically it's not as good as the smaller ones, but in practise they feel so nice, they really are a premium device
@anupammahato1 I would suggest first seeing someone else's, but honestly I can't go back to 13 inch after using the 16 inch,, if I were you I'd get the 16 inch, Just make sure if you are unsure, to buy maybe a refurbished one with returns policy
Compared to m1 air which one is a good option, the 16 inche screen is amazing, kindly do some video editing tasks, how does it perform in da vinci resolve
The macbook pro i7 is great, the 16 inch screen is so lovely to use but it does feel abit laggy/choppy For video editing, 2019 i7 and 32gb ram is actually great. Scrubbing in timelines is somewhat smooth and render times are decent, it defintely does the job for me the M1 air is more powerful (just get 16gb ram as minimum) and way more portable than this laptop, but for me the screen is the no-brainer and I am not a fan of the smaller screens. Honestly, I would advise the m1 air because of performance, portability, battery life, assuming you will accept the smaller screen

From my experience There is step up in user experience going from macbook with spinning harddrive to SSD. Then next step up is either getting M1 or pro with AMD graphics card for added smoothness. The peak of macbook experience is now m2 Pro lineup for fast hardware with 120hz display. It doesn't get better than this to be worth upgrading...like m3 macbooks
@nahasat I can imagine it would be more powerful, but generally the i7 has been good enough for me. My most demanding application is video editing. The issue really is the compatibility of macos with certain apps such as virtualbox or running a game
@@nahasat It wont lag, matter of fact I use the macbook pro with my 34 inch ultra wide 165 inch monitor, its definitely fast and smooth, but for some reason, I have random app crashes and as mentioned compatibility issues
@@SandiMardiansyah I bought MBP i9 16 inch 32gb ram 512gb ssd. Updated to latest Macos Sonoma. No lag so far. Haven't done heavy usage but did some zoom sessions. Working great so far.
Pros: Great laptop Cons: You'll only hear sound from the left side. (I had to 😂) I am kidding! Great video man and keep up the great work! Also I know this is an unpopular opinion, but if someone is on a very tight budget of say 500-600ish USD, this laptop ain't so bad. At one point it was over $2000ish, easily but of course, it is dated and it heats up real easily + battery life isn't the best but seriously, this is one laptop that is still a beast today in 2024, especially for that 16" screen. Yes, Apple silicon is amazing but man, I loved this laptop a lot, just wished it had better battery and didn't get so hot lol. Also the GPU on this is still better than the M2 Air in in performance and heavy duty tasks like 3d rendering assuming one gets the 5600m GPU. It's definitely not as efficient as the M2 or M1 but still, not so bad. Also there are 3rd party apps to reduce that fan noise like mac fan control. I think Apple made these fans loud when really they could have reduced it a bit, sure it gets hot but still, those fans are loud lol.
@aleksandraskut9537 it's really good as an entertainment device, but macbooks are absolutely terrible for gaming. As a student I would recommend this laptop but yiu have to sacrifice good battery life and it is abit heavy
