Regarding the infotainment system of each car. The German money pit has the extremely dangerous "take your eyes off the road" touch screen. Your average Porsche moron is usually exceeding the speed limit by 40 mph which means he is traveling anywhere from 100-150 feet per second. I wonder what kind of tragedy can happen when you take your eyes off the road for two seconds. Hmmm??? On the other hand, the best car made has VOICE COMMAND. For 99.95% of anything you want or desire the car to do, you simply press the TALK BUTTON and tell the car what it is you want it to do. Your eyes never leave the road and your hands never leave the steering wheel. That doesn't mean a tragedy can't happen but it does mean at least you'll be aware of something that needs your immediate attention. Unfortunately, most people are idiots and don't realize Lexus offers this feature, so they criticize the infotainment system as being hard to use when the exact opposite is true. In the four plus years I've owned my LC, I've used the trackpad less than ten times and never while driving. It could be possible that while you're out and about a sudden cold snap swoops in and CLIMATE CONCIERGE doesn't warm the seats enough to you liking. If that's the case, you simply say "Show Seat Warming Screen" and then slide your fingers up a bit. There are literally thousands of VOICE COMMANDS and once you learn "the basics", there isn't much that can't be done. So again, the German hunk of crap loses.
First of all - I enjoy your long comments - THANK YOU! I wouldn't say that about Porsche drivers, but more so of the BMW drivers 🤔 - being careless on the road. Yes, you're right about the voice commands, but the only downside about the LC voice system, is that you have to learn how to communicate with it. The new Lexus infotainment will understand more conversational speech - thus not having us owners "learn its language". After reading your comment, I tried voice commanding my LC to bringing me to the seat climate control screen - it took me 3 tries to get it to understand my command - tried different iterations of saying the same thing. It's definitely is worth the time to learn some of its general commands to get you to the right screen, as it cuts down on the number of clicks you need to go through the track pad.
I owned an LC500 and it is a beautiful car but it literally has no trunk space. I mean you could put luggage on back seat but you definitely cannot go to the grocery store with it. Looks 100! Everyday use is not practical.
I have to kindly disagree. I've done Costco runs with my LC and have driven several thousand miles on short trips with a few luggage items that I fitted into the trunk and backseat. Of course it doesn't have the same trunk space as a C8 or F-Type, but it's relatively convenient....
Trunk is small, for such a large vehicle. The rear seats managed to be useful for throwing stuff in the rear. Unfortunately, this car is bigger than an RC-F but has a smaller rear area....🤔
Porsches have many problems their 3.0-litre V6 Diesels suck and their new 3.0 turbo isn't any better in general German cars are over priced for their quality here in Quebec because of the harsh climate they don't sell much they break down fast.
Really? I used to live in Montreal and remember seeing quite a few of them. Still surprised how anyone could drive an exotic in general on those roads filled with potholes....
@@RichWithCars Really I have a 94 Celica have been driving it in the potholes with no problems there is more potholes in some places in the US, the problems with German cars are not only the potholes.
I'm a current Porsche owner (Cayman S, not 911), and am here because I saw my first LC yesterday and was blown away. I love Porsche, and think it has a unique look and refinement that other brands don't capture, but I have to admit the LC is mesmerizingly beautiful. Plus from owning Lexus in the past, I know the quality and luxury of the brand is unquestionable. If I wanted performnce in a bit higher luxury spec than Porsche, this woudl be the car.
Well said. Specifically the LC500 brings the refinement, design and sportiness all together in one package. Don't get me wrong though, Porsche is solid from A to Z, but having sat in both, it doesn't give you that sense of occasion that the LC does.
@@RichWithCars Yeah Porsche has better performance and superior tech But LC500 has the edge in ride quality and considerably better interior fit / finish Only way for Porsche to be close in terms of fit and finish/overall quality is if you get the club leather options for like 5k and spend an additional 10k+ on the extended leather packages. But then you're talking like 30-40 k more than the LC500
The 911 definetly have the better interior and material. Are you forgettin about the TONS of recalls Toyota has for meltin interiors, melting dashes on Lexus? They always uses the cheapest materials while Porsches from the 60s are still intact!!@@danielmiller9012
Lexus by a long shot, its in a different playing field than Porsche. You could drive that reliably literally anywhere in the world with a peace of mind keeping you and your family safe, that luxury is unmatched.
I can't speak on the reliability of Porsche, but I know it's always been on the top of the reliability rankings alongside Lexus. From owners I know, they're quite happy with theirs. Lexus is certainly much more affordable in regards to maintenance costs though.
The 911 is expensive especially now - due to the low supply...I definitely understand....repair costs shouldn't be a concern if it's still under warranty tho...
A repair headache? You’re kidding right? I owned a 991.2 TurboS daily drive it and that thing is solid. Porsche is not McLaren or Ferrari. It is German engineering at its finest.
Tell me you never owned a 911 without telling me you never owned a 911... They are extremely reliable, I've owned 911's for years and never do more than an oil change.
@@TinMan-kd2gv with all due respect, my father owns one too and his eyes turned red from the amount of times he had to keep returning it to the dealer due to its faults the first year he owned it and afterwards and he has a 2022 one. It was his retirement gift to himself and it was turned out to be his retirement hell lol.
With a budget of 70 000€ I hesitated between a used 911 or a used LC500H . No V8 anymore because I live in Paris and in the city it is not that fun (sold my C5 corvette). Finally I bought a 2018 LC500H. Way less common than a 911 and no regrets at all.
Yes, unfortunately EU laws are cracking down on the "fun" engines, which really limits your choices - especially within the city centers. I haven't driven the 500h yet, but surely it's considerably rarer than the Porsche. Enjoy!
After spending a lot of time researching, a test drive of both the LC500 and 911 made my decision easy. I ended up getting a red LC500. I don't need to feel like I'm driving on the track every day. I think a comfortable, reliable car that also handles well is more important. There's also the wow factor for the LC, both inside and out. Unless you truly need a precise engaging drive, it's a no brainer. The LC500 is one of the best cars ever made.
Yes, you couldn't have said it any better. The 911 is a scalpel, but when are you truly going to use it to its full potential? LC500 is a perfect combination of performance and comfort. Thanks for your input!👍
Yeah Porsche has the better badge and performance but TBH it ends there. Also, that Lexus badge combined with the beautiful looks of this car is still plenty prestigious.
Great job! Depends on what you want. Both have advantages. Porsche is faster, just crazy engaging to drive! But the LC 500 is great, less expensive, you can drive it forever. Both look great on the road
Thanks 👍! Yes I agree that the LC is last of its kind. But the 911's are still maintaining a lot of their enthusiast based components: Ex: flat 6 engine (tho most are now turbocharged), manual gearboxes, and very dynamic driving intentions how it's always been. Have to respect the 911....tho I am a Lexus fan....🙏
These are 2 very different cars for different people with different driving profiles. One is a Grand Tourer and the other is a true "Sports Car" for enthusiasts who want to be engaged in the driving experience. Personally, I'll take the Porche.
Yup, I completely agree with your insight about 2 completely different cars. But I've read in forums and had people asking about x-shopping the two - which I found odd, especially after driving them back to back.
4:20 The LC beats the fk out of the 911 on the interior. No if ands or buts. My LC smells like a fine leather store when i get in it hits you like a murderer smothering your face with a glorious leather glove.
I bought the LC500 Convertible, sound, quality fit and finsh and Exhauset sound similar to the Lexus LFA. The porsche costs over $70k more than the Lexus, so Lexus was the best choice for me.
Yeah can't blame you. The sound coming out of the Lexus is definitely better than the Porsche. Dynamics on the other hand, I'd give it to Porsche - but the Lexus is a great all arounder.
Yea you are cross shopping these. Im an owner of a 22 LC500 coupe and i did cross shop the 2CS 7MT. I actually test drove both cars, (LC500 vs 2CS AT) no MT was available for test and honestly found them both to fantastic drivers cars. Im a car guy and having driven porsches of the 90's and up I'm honestly not that huge a fan of them. I only tried this gen 911 because its the first 911 in a long time i actually like visually. Driving it was meh. Dont let the hype oversell this car boys. Its not THAT great unless you spec it out properly in which case you just dropped 200+ so put all that in perspective. Then driving and i mean DRIVING. I tested these cars like i would drive them. I couldn't and didn't want to scare the fuk out of the sales guys so i couldn't get to the limit but for the average person "dick" driving is equal in both cars. Meaning don't let anyone tell you the LC cant hang cause it can. Ive not taken either to the track so i cant comment on all out performance that others say the LC is to heavy for. I would tho! Just haven't got there yet. I picked the LC because its rare. They only sell ~1500/year while the 911 does ~10k. I literally rolled into a gas station in my Infrared LC at night and saw the jaw on this dude pumping gas literally DROP. You wont see that in a 911. YOU WONT! Kids wave at me, men and boys stare, women give you compliments to the moon. If i had a 911 id be a dick no one would give a fuk for. Then when i roll up to a scat pack, GT, SS, Ftype, Type R, WRX, STI, Golf R.... ill smoke em all. And i have. All those cars listed have been victims. The scat pack was fun. He wanted and i gave him 3 pulls unto which he lost. 🤣. Thats why LC500 🥰😘😘😘
1:45 Yea but most ppl do not account for the BASE 911 being right on target of 4.5 to 60. The LC500 should not be compared to a 2CS/4CS they are faster. You can smite them only if you catch them off guard. Thats fun. ;)
@@aurorajones8481 4.5 sec to 60 mph for base 911 is what Porsche claims. It is more like 3.6 - 3.8 sec. Porsche claims that because base 911 performance is very close to S model and does not justify the price differential. Try a base 911..
If LC500 is just 350 lbs lighter than the 911 and maybe 4000-5000 use cheaper, the Lexus would have a winner. Otherwise the 911 would ran circles around the LC.
@jorgej5916 regardless, the 911 runs circles around the LC. The comparison isn't about dynamics of one vs the other - b/c the 911 would always be on top. It's comparing the overall package of one vs the other...
Nice review and I agree with your final thoughts. If you are solely focused on a track weapon, Porsches all day every day. The secret sauce in those things are captivating, but you'll suffer in many other areas...like daily usability. The Lexus on the other hand does everything well, not the best on the track, but well enough for sure.
Thanks for watching. Yes absolutely true - Porsches are sought after for good reason (aside from the fact that they're low on supply now). But the allure of the LC cannot be denied.
I'm 6'3, and couldn't fit in the LC comfortably with the driver seat pushing me too far forward even with the seat moved all the way back. It was weird that the seat wouldn't recline to a comfortable position. Porsche was way more comfortable and adjustable for my size. Loved the LC, but just couldn't fit.
This is a biased “comparison” if you own one of the cars. Lexuses are much more common than Porsches, so don’t pretend your Toyota is anything rare. And the fact that you don’t even know the details about the Porsche you are showing is embarrassing.
Thanks for your commentary. I still stand by my opinion as everyone has a right to one. If you paid attention, I did give high praise to the Porsche...
LC500 all day. I like Porsche, but once I'm in that territory I'm probably more into AMG offerings. LC500 to own/drive until dead. GT3 Touring if resale is critical. AMG GT and AMG SL if we're talking F-U money. I just love their presence. Carrera for
@@RichWithCars I don't mean "F-U money" as a means of showing off how much money one has, but as a means of not caring about how much value the car holds, either literally (depreciation, resale demand) or subjectively (clout).
@@EdwardViaTomato my bad. Thanks for clarifying that. In that sense, then yes, I completely agree. I'd also add the Aston Martin Vantage to that. I'm seriously considering a Vantage F1 edition, but the depreciation on that is truly atrocious! I def don't have that kind of FU money to not care about that!
I have never test driven a Porsche 911. I have no interest in buying a 911. I have test driven a Lexus LC500. Loved the car and loved the test drive. Will probably buy the LC500.
Good review, I had a 911 and the older Lexus SC430 and I liked the ride in the Lexus! As the review states, 911 is an engaging car, but not comfortable and lacks on refinement, recently purchased a LC and must admit, it is a totally different league compare to Porche. Simply because Porche is such a common looking car no matter the new models coming out. Anytime for a Lexus!!!
Thanks for watching. Yes, the 911 is more of a scalpel compared to the LC - but the LC can hold on its own. Let's not forget that the 911 is a sports car and the LC is more of a GT...
If you value your money, you buy Lexus. If you've got money to burn, and you don't like keeping your money ... in your bank account, definitely buy Porsche. My brother did, and he's very much, less well-off than he was, with all the repair bills!
@@RichWithCars "They've always been towards the top of the reliability rankings..." Says who .... Jeremy and Chris? When the bar is set so low by certain brands, then I guess anything is accepted as "Reliable! How many class action suits has Porsche had to deal with in recent years? How many IMS bearing and scored cylinders has Toyota/Lexus or Honda or the GTR/Skyline had to deal with? And that's before we get to the hideous electrical gremlins that Porsche suffer from. And let's be honest, we're talking about the brand who brought us the 924, 944 and 928, that were as reliable as a politician's promise, and the 911 has been no better ... it's just been marketed well, and the sheeple have fallen for it! It's like Mercedes, who in the 90's, fell to the bottom of the reliability rankings, and to counter that, they simply stuck AMG badges on every other car, and got Jeremy to film exciting shots of him oversteering the cars every other week ... and got the people to focus on Nürburgring lap time, rather than the fact of how much the dealer is going to take you to the cleaners the next time your car is serviced! Now most of the low end Mercs are stuffed with Renault engines which breakdown more than Jordan Peterson talking about the fallen state of young, white males ... As for BMW, name me a BMW M-car that hasn't had anything but catastrophic engine issues, be it in 6-8-10 cylinder form. And in comparison, name me a variant of the 2JZ that has or had Crank Hub issues? As for the VW 911, I'm in contact with quite a few VW Boxster to 911 owners, including members of my family, and see how regularly they have to go back to the dealers to fix their; oh so expensive purchases. When it comes to this myth of German reliability, my question is always the same; where is this famous German reliability, because I can't see evidence of it anywhere within the last 30 years! Diesel gate, clogged direct injected engines, VW gearbox issues, Mercedes SL with $20,000+ repair bills, £15,000 fixes for Porsche scoring problems, BMW V8 and V10 bearing failures ... when it comes to the disaster that is German Engineering, the list goes on and on! It seems with certain brands, a high price does not imply reliability! All the best
I think I mentioned that the paddle shifters are magnesium. I didn't know that interior door handles were magnesium also....where did you read that? Thanks for the input.
I don't know about status- to anyone but a car enthusiast, it's just another Porsche (and the status/perception is generally negative anyway). The 911 is a classic and absolutely has a top notch performance driving experience... it is not, however, a unique looking vehicle (exterior, interior) or a top notch comfort and luxury experience. The 911 below the S sounds pretty mediocre and even the S or above sounds just "ok".
@@Slythey it is a status symbol to alot of people whether they know it or not and whether it conveys negative opinions or not. But yah I do agree that some people think porsche drivers are douche like bmw drivers… lol no idea why. It’s just because it’s at a higher price point, it’s heritage and performance. In terms of looks… yah it’s not as exotic as a ferrari or mclaren or lamborghini but the design is a classic like the design of a rolex and personally i don’t like rolex’s.
I have a 2021 LC00 Convertible... believe me, the LC 500 will give you all the SPORTY experience you need in a sports car....No regular LC500 will be able to drive and push the LC500 to its limit... maybe professional certified Formula 1 can.. But overall, the LC500 is more than the sporty drive we need
I completely agree. But if you end up taking the LC500 on the track and put it up against the 911, there's a considerable difference. Truth is, how often will you be taking your vehicle on track? Max once a month? The majority of the time is being driven on regular roads, which the LC can sufficiently satisfy...
I'll take the LC500 all day if we're talking regular coupes. but convertible, I'll take a 911 with targa top -- that's the most beautiful convertible design I've ever seen IMO
Really? I know many people who love the Targa, but I've never been a fan of its design. I'd still take an LC500 convertible....tho I'm not a fan of convertibles in general. To each their own....thanks!
The LC got a new touchscreen and some new colours for 2024... That definitely pushes it over the top for me. I ended up getting a M4 comp because I needed the AWD and back seat space but for the price nothing beats the LC
I’ve been waiting since 2018 for the LC to ditch the trackpad. They finally put in a touchscreen for 2024 so I just put a deposit down with my local Lexus dealer to get 1st dibs on a 2024 when they get it in
Have you test driven the LC500? If not, I highly recommend you do. Why AWD? Are you planning on driving it in snowy conditions? Otherwise, having a rwd is a better experience imo
The LC 500 has a custom made especially for this LC500. Mark Levinson builds the best sounding systems; and by the way now; how come you never spoke about the amazing chassis in this car, how come?
I couldn't agree with you more. Even though the Porsche has superior performance, the Lexus has all those other positives you mentioned - PLUS a NA V8!
To each their own. I still have lots of respect for Porsche. But yes, the 911 is basically the same vehicle with different components (engine, suspension, etc) thrown onto it for each variant.
No maintenance issues whatsoever...I did have a few issues with the vehicle, covered in this video below: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-RGyl-mvWlUk.htmlsi=rUawHD1cUe9bxY-z
LC500 all day. Porsche is a cool but reliability is trash. And with 2 turbos it's only a matter of time before a rebuild. Plus every mechanic is gonna want to poke your eyes out to work on it. I think Lexus is more stylish inside and out too. Also you don't see them that often so there's a wow factor. These are just my thoughts over all great video. I enjoyed it.
Thanks for watching. I'd generally agree with you, even though Porsche has been in the top 3 of the reliability study by JD Power (not this year tho). The LC is definitely a much rarer car, and more visibly pleasing...
2:20 the 911 in my eyes is the rich mans Civic, meaning you see them everywhere. If your a guy of success a 911 is part of the package. I know i should have one but i opted for an LC instead and frankly I'm happier for. Im not a basic bitch. 🤪
Neither one. Buy a good dependable inexpensive car and invest the money instead. Cars are nothing more than glorified metal that depreciate the second you drive them off the lot.
7:55 I notice you drive in eco. Thats why your front end looks so good. PRO TIP: 😐 If you drive over 100mph. And you do that a lot... the front end accumulates impacts. I had my entire front clip protected with clear and I've taken 4 impacts that have hopefully not penetrated the armor but visually stained the front end. If i glance at the hood in just the right light and angle you can see alllllll these little micro impacts equally scattered across the hood. Its wild. Meaning i need to have my clear stripped and replaced. 3800 bucks. So yea the tip is stay slow and away from other cars kicking up garbage. I drive aggressively and pay for it unfortunately.
I also have Xpel PPF on my entire front end (including the front lip). Yeah, fully aware of all the garbage that gets kicked up. I drive in ECO when not pushing it. The 2 modes I always drive in are ECO with the trans in auto and Sport S+ in manual mode....😁
Yes, I should have included that I am an X retired Porsche Mechanic, love Porsches! But honestly they are two different extended vehicles. Driving the LC is very very special, makes you feel like you have something special. Porsches are very common, been around for years, drive and handle amazingly, but definitely not comfortable or extra special to look at anymore. Give me an LC any day also excellent reliable engineering that won’t send you broke.
Thanks for sharing. I totally agree with you. Porsches are phenomenal machines and there's reason as to why they have such a huge following. The LC is a special vehicle that isn't quite at the performance level of the 911, but it still looks, drives and sounds great. I definitely get that "special" feeling when driving the LC - surprisingly more so than I did when comparing it to the 911.
Went through that 2018, I ended up choosing 2014 Porsche GTS, and I am a Lexus guy. There is nothing drives like a 911 when it comes to sports car driving.
I had a 9/11 Carrera 4S and liked it just fine and dandy. I also have an LC 500 Lexus convertible and it's about 70,000 cheaper and for my money, I like it just as good or more. Mine is a beautiful infrared with the cocoa tan interior, loaded with the Turing package and I really love It's fun to drive and honestly I believe I like it better
That's great to hear. I truly believe that both vehicles have very different intentions. The 911 is a better sports car but the LC is definitely a more refined GT car...
Only complaint about t he 911 is all that piano black... I feel like that shouldn't be on cars upwards of 100k or more. I mean, I wouldn't tolerate it on a 60-80k car, let alone the 911.
@@RichWithCars unless there is varying grades of it that I'm not aware of, all piano black I have seen gets scratched very easily and shows dust/fingerprints very poorly as well. I thought it was generally accepted to be a low trim/cheap material, but maybe I am wrong- not sure.
Fortunate enough to have LC500 convert and a 992 Targa 4S. Both are comfortable, with LC being softer and quieter, but 911 having better driving dynamics and actually handles bumps better. Which is better? If I have a choice, Im taking the 911.
@catjesus4319 the 911 is a 50+ yr model that's been continuously improved with a racing pedigree. I would sure hope It'd be better. Not bad for Lexus on a first gen model though!
I completely agree with you, but I made the video because I did notice that a lot of people were cross shopping the 2....u either want one or the other. Two very different feeling cars.
@@RichWithCars Thanks for the clarification, it was an excellent video, thanks for posting it. I love the LC500, was very close to purchasing one before Covid hit the world. Looking forward to your future videos.
Driving a Porsche is sublime. Lexus dealership experience (and reliability) is the best in the world. Porsche not so much... more of a screw you experience, you're not on the VIP list so get lost.
@@RichWithCars Ya, the Porsche dealerships are nice, but they are cold and stark, very stoic… typical German. Lexus is the very experience I try to emulate in my own business… very welcoming.
Love both and have been a 911 fan for a long time but if I'm looking for a performance vehicle to own over the long-term (factoring service and maintenance costs) the LC is very compelling.
It is not a simple question. It depends on your budget, what you want from the car and how you intend to use it and ultimately which car gives you a feel good factor (important for a coupe). If budget is an issue LC500 for sure. Money no object, get a 911 Turbo s.
Good report, very enjoyable. A 1979 3.6 liter 911SC was my daily wheels for 13 years. Loved it, tracked it, long distance, everything. If I were to go ahead today I'd buy the LC 500 and when I felt to urge to get on the track with a sports car I'd book 1-2 days at the Porsche Experience in Atlanta or Corvette Experience in Las Vegas. With that out of my system, the Lexus sounds like the way to go - GT or street. BTW, Car & Driver interviewed Mario Andretti in the 1970s and asked him which car he would prefer for a coast-to-coast trip in the the US. His answer: Cadillac.
Wow - sounds like you really got the maximum use out of that 1979 911SC! If I owned any version of the 911, I'd definitely take it to the track a few times per year. I still haven't taken the opportunity of attending one of those Experience events (whether Porsche, Corvette or even Lexus - yes they have one as well), but it's on my list! I'm quite surprised that Andretti, such a huge car aficionado would name Cadillac as his coast-to-coast cruiser - I'd expect more like a Vette, or Porsche!
Nicholas Davis congrats on getting the LC! You'll love it! Drive her in good health. 👍 Make sure to join the Club Lexus forum for additional info (in the LC500 category)!
12:15 I dont agree. Im an LC owner, a track rider/driver. If you put the LC in Sport+ manual, and you know how to launch from a stop meaning you need to brake hold to 1800-1900 rpm, any more and you get wheel spin any less and you don't get the full launch. I use that for launches, and in aggressive city driving the LC matches the 911 toe for toe i know I've driven both with aggression. Not sure if you have the DHP or rear wheel stear but that makes a huge diff in the cars ability to rotate around a corner or through a tight gap in traffic you need to exploit. Can you take down a Z06? NO i know when to stop. Red Eye...same thing. But a base 911 typically driven by a basic bitch driver who doesn't know his ass from his hand. If your any good you can handle it. Ive run from police in the LC. LOL
LOL! Yeah you do have a point in city driving. I do have the DHP (notice the deployable wing in the back)...but regardless, the 911 is more dialed in IMO....
POrsche is definitely going to be more playful than the LC. But surprisingly, I've tossed the tail out on track with my LC, and it was quite controllable.
I am on my way to test drive a 911 4s. I just tested the lc500 yesterday and might buy it today, but i want to give the 911 a shot, since ive always wanted one
As I mentioned in my review, they both drive very differently. But I still find that the LC is a better daily driver since it's more of a GT. The 911 has much better driving dynamics and feels a little more visceral. I'd still take the LC due to its unique exterior and interior design, rarity and the fact that it gives you a sense of occasion when driving it. Keep us posted as to what you ended up with. Either way, they're both phenomenal cars.
@RichWithCars thank you Rich. Gr8 channel btw. I am picking up the LC500, albeit, my wife tells me I am not sophisticated enough to drive the Lexus. And yes, that is mostly true as my usual choice of vehicles are muscle cars (Hellcat, Magnum SRT8, and other great American V-8s) and HD motorcycles; so she is not wrong because those are on the opposite side of the spectrum, oppose to the Lexus. But I cannot unknow what I now KNOW. The LC is a grail of a car, and once it enters your consciousness, it is irresistible. I am just glad I found a real great deal at my local Lexus dealership in Honolulu 2019 w less than 3k miles l, sold for 75K. Great value. The Porsche was great, and 5 years ago it would probably be my choice. Maybe the next go around, as that itch still needs scratching.
The old car with"Rattly" plastics and chassis is $50.000 more than this amazing beautiful looking Japanese gem, but sadly for you is a Japanese car. My friend this is the last video me and my friends will watch from you. (Unless you start being fair and unbiased) Lc 500 by far has a better interior, better engine real one, better style, better exterior, an amazing cluster that I think you're the only man that don't like it, and the chassis oh that chasis is pure gold, nothing shakes nothing rumbles. I sugest you drive both again and record the sounds they make and LC 500 has frame that is second to none. You know? sometimes I wonder if the situation end result reverse would be the same if the 911 was the LC500, and don't forget about quality. would you you still preffer the 911?
I think you should re-watch the video because it seems that you didn't understand my review. I specifically mentioned at 18:23 that if I would do it all over again, I'd go with the LC....
@@RichWithCars with 911 it is a hit and miss. My neighbor had a lot issues with his 992 which he eventually lemoned., but a friend of mine had a 991 and he was happy, and his only complaint was $$$ on maintenance and service.
Generally, yes. But I know that a lot of people on the Lexus forums and FB groups were cross-shopping these two. That's what compelled me to make this video.
I can't comment on that, because I've never owned one. Based on friends that have owned Porsches, they seem to be relatively reliable. Also, Porsche has ranked among the top 10 in the last several years in the JD Power dependability study
@@RichWithCars I have owned Porsche BMW, and Mercedes. If I ever buy again, it would be a Porsche Hair Dryer. 1984-85 Carrera. For BMW it would be a 630CSI. or 633 with the T4 and Mercedes W128 . Those are decent. Nothing newer as they have all turned to money pits of aggravation. So sad. Beautiful cars. Best looking cars on the Planet. Sht reliable. Error code generators. Status symbols of stupidity.
Completely different cars. LC500 is pure GT, long distance cruiser and a lovely V8. The 911 is a sports car with agility and driving enjoyment as its focus. I'd have both. I have a tuned 911 Turbo (730bhp) and am considering an LC500 coupe as a companion car. A better comparison for the Lexus would be a BMW 850. The design focus of the 911 is totally different.
I agree, but the reason why I did this review was because I noticed a lot of LC buyers were x-shopping with the 911. Your Turbo must be a beast! Which gen? And yes, I'd love to have both side by side.
