Should you buy a Porsche Cayenne 958? 

I ended up buying my 958 without looking for one of these cars. Following yet another hefty bill I decided to sell my 911 and another vehicle. The plan was to purchase a V6 Petrol Macan. My local Porsche specialist had a Cayenne on sale, I had never considered a Cayenne or even driven one. Following a short drive, I was sold on it. It is a 2016 4.2 V8 S diesel, with a very high spec. The original owner spent 20k on factory options. One option it does not have is air suspension, a few people advised against air as it can be very expensive if it fails. With the big V8, its an amazing car, fast, frugal, very spacious, comfortable and handles like a sports saloon. The only thing I do not like is the Nav unit, compared with the system in my 2019 BMW 440 M Sport+ it is poor. Overall the Cayenne is a terrific car, one of the best I have driven, the engine is a torque monster. 850nm and 390BHP. I must have driven hundreds of cars, having spent around 40 years in the Motor Industry and owning lots of great cars myself.

As a fellow 958 Cayenne owner, I am always browsing for people's comments and experience on these vehicles. So sorry to hear of your suspension issue. My car does not have the adjustable/height suspension, so I'm not that familiar with it. No other issues on my car. Completely reliable. Hope yours proves to be the same after this repair. Cheers.

Do you have the timing chain cover oil issue these 3.0 have?

I had one for 16 months. Hated how it drove, it was never happy unless you were going really fast. The heavy steering (21” wheels from factory) were horrendous for around town. Bit of a mistake buying it I think.
