Should you buy a used Alfa Romeo Quadrifoglio? - Inside Lane 

Love my 2017 Quadrifoglio and they are a superb car, but a few comments... There are very few cars under £35K. Of the 101 cars currently for sale on Autotrader, only 3 are under £40K. The gearbox is a 8 speed (ZF), not 7. In A mode, on a steady motorway run, circa 35 mpg is possible - that's obviosuly not what you buy the car for, but still nice that it can do it. The earlier cars (pre 2018 I think) are 4 seaters not 5 and the rear seats don't fold. I'm never quite sure why the infortainment gets criticised - personally I think it's fine. You can get a 3rd party module to add Apple Car Play to earlier cars. The carbon seats are pretty rare, and for daily use the standard seats have the benefit of being available with memory & heating functions (an option), which aren't available with the carbon seats. For driving all year round, most owners swap out the Corsa tyres for something like MPS4S or Goodyear F1 Supersports as they're a better all round tyre. The standard fit Corsas aren't great in the cold/wet.

Do your research before providing wrong infos 1. there is no AWD Gulia QV 2. the Gearbox is a 8 speed auto

Random fact. 99 percent of people that give out about the reliability of these have never owned one.

I've a Nov 2016 car Bought it Nov 2020 with 19k I have mow got 61k on it Use daily Apart from new battery and two rear shocks and a celtic tune remap never had any issues and the engine and electrics have never missed a beat Epic machine These cars are bomb proof

There’re no 4wd Quadrifoglio’s anywhere in the world. There were some manual’s tho, 2016-17.

correction: the giulia quadrifolgio is only available in rear wheel drive in all markets - they never made an AWD version of the Giulia Quad

Absolutely yes. I would love a manual gearbox by default as a true petrolhead but i am wondering if the great automatic won't have more pluses compared to the engaging manual. I ll make sure to drive both when eventually i ll be able to get one. I also hear the 2020 on models have a dual port injection system that prevents carbon built. But those are significantly more expensive than 2016 examples.... so quite a dilemma 😐

In the US it has a fierce competition since kids here they want 9 second cars and drag racing from stop light to stop light as an adult i really would like alfa to have an aftermarket shop to get gtam parts and body kits

Italian flag, as you say, a tricolor, has 3 colors not 2 like the stitching 🇮🇹 German cars are prone to their quality problems too (latest G80 M3 released with main bearing shell and brake recalls, missing parts etc, not to mention BMW's usual rod bearing failures over generations) and bursting engine intake parts made of plastic.

Get a lexus rc 5.0 and you will be better served. But the QF is a very beautiful and rich sound car.

That's a very good question... I parted with my QF back in 2020 after 3 years from new. And the reasons, 1) It was due the 35k service at a cost circa £1500 and seeing what was involved, horrified me to think an Alfa dealer would be trusted with that work, I've seen how rubbish they are with basic servicing and their lack of interest in fixing warranty work (turbo wiring harness, squeaky struts... just made it hassle for me. I'm going to guess that the Alfa dealer I sold it back to didn't do the major 35k service and just stamped the book, it's a major front end off job 2) Warranty was due to expire and could I trust Alfa to provide an OEM extended warranty, and then have the skills to repair if something major went wrong - NO. Definitely a brave pill to buy used. At a push only buy from a main dealer WITH proper 12 months Alfa warranty, and then sell it. If you have the balls good luck, because it's a truely amazing car as long as nothing serious goes wrong.

Fragile??? Really.... Why did you say that... what exactly are you basing that on? And you need to check your facts about 4 wheel drive and gearbox before spouting off.

I thought this was going to talk about if you should buy a used one. Instead it turned into a car review. The same review that hundreds of youtubers have already done. Also, there is no AWD QV only RWD.

So this was suppose to be drive and turned into a reveiw and as usual from someone who never read up on this beautiful car .got most of his facts wrong then proceeded to slate alfa with the same reliability garbage dont give your day job up as your not good enough to sit in the drivers seat.

I don't think alfas are as unreliable as their reputation suggests, but the build quality is shocking. They look beautiful, you get in and think "what a lovely looking interior" but everything you touch feels like cheap crap. The carpets, upholstery, steering wheel, gear lever, switches, etc. its all nasty. Its the only thing that stops me buying one.

What a shame. Such an amazing, cool car. But you really trust brake=by-wire (electronic braking) in a manufacturer with rubbish electronics? What happens when the electronics in the brakes fail in a couple of years? I wouldn't even buy electronic braking cars from a Japanese manufacturer. Stick to cars with hydraulic brakes!!!!

No! I was in love with my Giulia and Alfa Romeo as a brand, however, I will never again buy/recommend another Alfa Romeo in my life. I had the brake by wire system fail on me and it caused me to crash and total the car. They sent someone from Bosch to diagnose the vehicle and in the charts it clearly showed that something malfunctioned (brakes were slammed 2 seconds before the impact at 40 MPH and it took more than 1.5 seconds for the speed to start going down.) Stellantis told me that they were not going to take responsibility for it and that I needed to have my insurance pay for the vehicle. Absolute garbage. I will never recommend this car brand to anyone again! Buy an AUDI, BMW or Mercedes instead!!
