Bought mine new in 2017. Wife refuses to drive it.. she did once and spun it in the wet. Considering a Raptor now to fit the baby in the back. I'll be very sad to see it go
@@DaCicatrice raptor is a death trap in the wet. May as well buy a boat. The don’t stop. Or grip with their insane high mass. Have a mustang and a r8 gts. Mustang has 650rwkw and the mrs daily drives it. School runs. Baby in the back. Loves it
Mine is a 2018. 95,000km and used as a work car. It has more rattles than a Kellyville creche but as a package there's nothing else that comes close for the money. On its second set of tyres, original brakes, poor panel fit but what a mega car. Anyone who slags one has never driven one onto a crowd of pedestrians and felt that surge of self satisfaction 😁 Great, honest and accurate review as usual 👍
It's 2023. I just bought a 2017 GT with low Ks. It makes me smile everyday except for when I'm at the petrol pump filling up. Otherwise, it's amazing, I love it. And in Grabber blue I get lots of attention from the ladies.
I am so happy for your choice. Also, nice to see it makes you happy. however ,remember, it's not about the car, but about YOU, you have to add the value to the car. anyways, good luck ;)
You got this review spot on. I’ve had my 2017 5.0 litre GT Mustang since new and agree with all of your comments, particularly those about putting a smile on your dial whenever you’re driving it. One thing that you missed though…those long doors mean that us taller drivers don’t have to peer around a B pillar all the time. Makes for a brilliant touring car. Love the channel 👍
That's what he said.. 5.0L (V8) GT @@TheDirtysanchez12... @davidhoffman6118 That's a very underrated point that allows me to understand as a 6'3" man why the mustang is one of the most comfortable coupes I've ever driven/wrapped.
Bought mine new aswell -17 It always makes me smile and feeling like a absolute hooligan pushing it 😂, been close to trade it against BMW m2 a couple of times, but always ends up keeping it 😂 and the future with dsg 4motion 2.0tsi future performance cars is not my cup of tea 😅
I have a 2015, the first year of the S550. 107k miles (I’m American) on the 5.0 and 6R80 (bad knee from accident) None of the issues listed with have happened to me, I just change the oil at the right time and don’t do stupid shit to the car. The only 2 things I have to address are the sagging roof liner on the drivers side and the seat is tearing a little as I keep my keys for work on my belt. Average MPG is 19mpg and gets great fuel mileage on the highway. It’s a Ford, the build quality isn’t great but it was 22k USD out the door used. I don’t have very bad panel gap or any interior rattles, and the ride is still smooth. The car has been great, it’s super smooth, pulls hard and is indeed obnoxious.
@@JGL98 it was yes, it was an H-Pipe to Roush Axle-backs. It was loud all the time, my 2020 that I have now has the Corsa Active kit which lets me control it.
u got me hyped for one. its my dream car. i was debating the 2.0T accord, a acura TL or something like that but i was looking at the mustags online and got excited. was gonna go for a eco boost but i think imma save up and get the v8 for as low as i can with decent mileage lol
The issue with the MT-82 generally lies in the shift linkage (not being especially robust/rigid) and the underlying bracketing. The MT-82 has the shifter mounted directly to the chassis via the transmission tunnel. Under hard acceleration/rpm and load, the engine and transmission twist under the torque of the engine (this is normal to an extent on every car), however most manual transmissions (for high powered cars) mount the shifter and linkage directly to the transmission, not the chassis like the mustang's design. This means the transmission moves and twists, but the shifter and linkage doesn’t move with it since it’s bolted to the chassis directly. This leads to an inconsistent shifter feel, grinding, high rpm lockout, and all those other things you hear about in the forums. Add the scenario of driver at a drag strip trying to shift aggressively and quickly to a shifter design that doesn’t like to be hurried and you have a recipe for complaints and issues. It's a shame Ford dont put the Tremec into the standard GT's!
Brand new 5.0 from Cowra Motors 2017 with 19,000 kms delivered to my door in Sydney. Best car I've ever had. Always drive with a smile on my face 😊Lots of grunt💪
Another great review. I've got a 2016 GT with 14K on odometer. Had zero problems, apart from air compressor needed to be regassed and that was due to lack of use. I find it damped very well when it hits large bumps of speed humps, but on average roads it struggles to settle down. I also find it a challenge at times to grab the seat belt, should have a seat butler. Sync 2 has been reliable, but find it hard to read graphic display. This is all very minor feedback, but every time you get in car it puts a smile on your face.
You should run your air conditioning at least once a month for a few minutes to keep the rubber seals lubricated and stop them drying out. I’ve done this with every car I’ve ever owned and never had to get one regassed.
Another great review and practical advice. Personally I wouldn't buy one , but there is something about them that is so alluring. Kia Stinger or BMW is something an accountant would buy, this is out there! Love the channel, it's a no brainer to subscribe to.
I have a Ruby red metallic 2016 V6 mustang with standard stuff without Apple car play or a touch screen and I’m glad for that cause I honestly prefer the manual controls tbh. Runs great and has plenty of power with decent gas mileage and looks stunning. I’m happy with it especially since it’s my first car.
to be fair, you guys have got the Camaro and the Challenger as well as other cool cars sent over from the US. Here in Aus, theres basically no competition for the Mustang in its price bracket being a RWD v8 coupe. They still hold their value here/
Commodores are know better. One a few years ago hit a group of kids just like the one in your profile pic. Especially when the drivers think they're cars are fast...🤣🤣
@@davothegreat9990 Agreed, some Commodore drivers (especially P-Plate V6 Commodore drivers) drive like absolute idiots... You know they say nothing is faster on the road than a V6 Commodore with P-Plates in the wet 😉
It seems so many fail to grasp or to acknowledge a Mustang GT is a Grand Tourer. The Mustang GT it has always been a Grand Tourer foremost and this is a key to it's popularity and longevity. Sure there are track capable versions the Mustang, but myself and many others drive them because they are Grand Touring vehicles. I have no belief nor aspiration I am a race car driver nor do I have an interest in lap times, I don't have an interest in 1/4 mile time. My interest is driving a stylish car that is comfortable, has some get up and go and my wife enjoys coming along, if need be I can fit someone in the back. Sure Mustang are quick, they are fast, they now handle pretty good, the point of a Grand Tourer is to comfortably tour and the Mustang GT excels at that role. GT is in the name for a reason. If track performance were all that matters GM wouldn't be discontinuing the Camaro for the second time.
I have a 2020 here in the uk and I love it the digital dash makes it a bit more modern feeling and the engine sounds great EVS are soulless the sound is half the pleasure of driving
@Stevewallace That’s one of the main reasons I’m looking at buying one, probably 2020. Wouldn’t buy the 4cyl. I have a WRX and I’m over it, don’t think I could buy another one, for 0-100 in 4sec could go an STI but the sound of that Mustang v8. A Camaro has better driving feel etc but here in Australia they are more than double the price of a mustang.
We...well the wife...has a 2017 GT and it really is bloody awesome. I don't drive it a lot but when I do, it makes me smile. It's a shame that talentless drivers seem to have given them a bad name!
Amazing that he mentioned "EVs are gonna leave things like this for dead.." .. I don't own a Mustang but I always loved them and respect for what they are. The point is not really just speed, EVs models will not last for decades, will not be a classic car one day.. EVs will be just like phones, keep for 2 or 3 years and move on because they will be obsolete, they will have a much reduced range unless you are prepared to pay the price of a small car just for a new battery OR there will be batteries in the future that will have a much better technology.
‘....never feel like a wanker driving it....’ 😂. Had my GT for over 7 years, still brings a smile and always gets a positive reaction, cheapest V8 on the market, or was in 2016 👍🏼🏴. I might add that I’ve done several trips to Italy and the south of France, multiple alpine passes and the WHOLE of the Route Napoleon, from Scotland! Faultless!
I bought a 15. Drag raced it with less than 500 miles on the odometer. 2 years later the car received a supercharger and E85 fuel system. It made 800+whp. I made over 200 1/4 runs in this car. And that car was still running strong when I sold it. The Coyote is a monster!
Adam I bought the Bullitt edition in 2018. No issues to date…touch wood!🙏🏻🤞🏻 Only fault was a glitch with the radar cruise control where it would not engage. Pulled over, turned the car off, restarted & ok. Nonetheless going in for its service next month & notified Ford of the fault. Oh & no pedestrians were harmed during this glitch.🤭 Interestingly this morning whilst filling up the car, 2 young bucks, 18 or 19 year olds were drooling over it. One guy was gobsmacked when he saw it was a MANUAL! His words were “F*** it’s a manual! F***ing awesome mate!”👍🏼🤣
haha, always nice to see a manual mustang on the road here in Aus. Most of the ones I see on the used market in Melb are the 10speed autos. But the manuals are always more fun to drive.
I have a 16 GT/CS 5.0 with 30;k and two young guys were walking behind my car just about to go in the gym and I heard one guy say to the other "this car is so sick" then the other guy answered "I know bro" 😂 I felt tingly inside. Haha.
2018 FN GT 10sp Auto, had 6,000kms as a ford demo (probably a service loan rental). Another 60,000km from me. No major issues. Some minor build quality niggles that disappear with application of your right foot. If you can stretch to the FN facelift, the 10sp, sync 3, and active exhaust are 100% worth it. X-pipe middle muffler delete makes them sound like they should.
Great video! Average Redriven video runtime ~16min, any longer means long list problems 😆 That said it's a nice car. Interesting mentioning Gran Turismo as an influence for a generation, very true.
I brought a 2019 FN racing red convertible GT. It's my daily driver, have done 89k since buying it dealer used in March of 2020. I absolutely love this car, its well just fun to drive. The active exhaust, adaptive cruise control ( yes this car have travelled the Hume Sydney - Melbourne multiple times) and now lives in Queensland driven via inland route. Back seat is actually far more practical in the convertible where a roof down and head height issue doesn't exist also easier to get into and out of with the roof down. Not to mention storage space is very handy with a dropped roof and access into rear seats for quick airport pick-up and get aways. My FN - has been an excellent car one ill continue to own well for another few more years and you know - I might just buy another cos well V8s are heading the way of the dodo and I kinda just love the sound and playfulness of this car.
I have my 2014 gt I bought it new and I love it. It’s not as sophisticated as the new ones but it’s raw power and 6 speed manual is a blast to drive. I love it.
I've watched this review nearly a hundred times and im glad that i did! Now I'm very happy with my 2016 GT! Its got very low k's and not any problems that were mentioned 👌 Thanks for this review, guys Love from Perth
@@ReDriven cheers guys, it was a big boy purchase for me so i was anxious about it but this guide helped me decide on which car to get after months of looking around 👌👌👌
My wife and I bought a brand new 2022 California Special Fastback with Magnerride. My wife wasn't sure about buying it, initially, because she loved her CV8Z Monaro so much. But now ... I can't keep her out of it, Sooo much fun to drive.
Had my 2017 5L for 6 years now….seen rain once here in Perth! 😂 The feeling of freedom is the best! MBRP sports exhaust with that “o So subtle bark!” always makes me smirk!! Yup smirk! Love ya clips guys keep it up
Ecoboost are Junk I had the 2016. I was gentle with it for 3.5 years, and the Turbo locked up... I wasn't aware of the Technology. Didn't realize, you have to stomp on the Accelerator to spool the Turbos. Then 6 months later the Turbos messed up the Bore in Cylinder 3. Reason Turbo get to 1,875°Fahrenheit (1,023° Celsius) On Aluminum Engine Block which should go beyond 250° and they mount it 1/8" inch ( 3.175 mm) That said the Cylinder 3 would Warp and loose compression. At 43k miles the engine had to be replaced, and extended warranty paid for 1 month rental and it requires 2 months at $93 per day USA 🇺🇸 for 30 days $2,790 plus $100 for the Deductible. At 60k miles engine went out again, and this time Warranty will not pay for any Rental. This is $5,580 for the 2 months Tech know this and won't tell Ford engineers or Ford because it keeps them working. Both GM and Ford on all EcoBoost and EcoTech have the same issues. I call them EcoTragic, thus not really economical I was getting 12 mpg due to having to stomp on it. Therefore, 3 days after taking for 2nd engine. I bought the only White V8 Mustang with the Proper 3rd Pedal Speed Manual Transmission, in the whole state of California. It a White 2022 Roush Mustang with the ( No Lift on Accelerator Pedal) Tremec 6 Speed Manual Transmission, Magneride ( No matter hard you take a corner, it won't lean, or dip on hard braking), and the Limited Slip Intercooled Torsen Rear Differential (Off the GT500 Differential).
Your outro summed it perfectly. I want the rough around the edges...the V8 rumble....I don't have my ruler with me to measure panel gaps when I'm mashing that right foot.
I used to work at The Bend Motorsport Park and they use these things for hot laps, driver experience etc and they cop an absolute thrashing and apart from the usual wear and tear items, they eat it up. Im a GM man but Id have a Mustang anyday, anywhere, just awesome.
Excellent video, as always! Non-related question; with Doug Demuro having recently bought his Carrera GT dream car, is there a car that each of the ReDriven team members would purchase, should the opportunity (and funds) ever arise?
Great question Eli. What we'd buy in this circumstance changes regularly but right for this very second: Adam (me), I go weak at the knees for a first gen Honda NSX Type R.......wait.....actually maybe my perfect spec old school 911, like somewhere between a Magnus Walker, Singer and Autohaus Hamilton style 911......actually no wait.....um Kia EV6 GT but lowered a little and wearing some race style aftermarket rims........or maybe I wait and go for a Hyundai Ionic 5N.....but with Lancia Delta Integrale style aftermarket rims.....actually maybe just I'd just get a Lancia Delta Integrale Evo.........mate this could go on forever! Jim: Nissan R32 GTR (but modified to his spec) Sam: Polestar 2 (he's the sensible one in the team!)
@@ReDriventhis is why I love this channel so much. Your taste is exactly as wide as mine. If money was no object oh boy I’d need some space! I wouldn’t ever get a Bugatti etc but would have 20-30 really different things! Great answer!
Some cars are just meant to be fun. People that shit on Mustangs either would never really buy a sports car anyway (so their opinion means little), or they might want to get their noses out of Lexus' boring-looking ass.
About a year and a half ago I bought a used 2015 mustang gt. I went through about every issue that you've listed and more. If all you want is cheap power (I live in the United States so its dirt cheap) it's a decent option, but there's so much hassle to keep it running. Even more than the video suggests.
I've got a 2016 GT premium convertible, 37,000 miles. Complete new A/C system, all components went to sh*t. $4g's plus (dash gets dismantled). Two weeks after that, gas leak coming from around the tank. Two window motors, small chips around the edge of windshield. Weatherstripping will rot, windows don't align. Motor is a beast, but the rest of the car will disintegrate around you.
One person's extreme experience doesn't change the amazing experience of the vast majority. These cars are very good, I've owned 3 S550s personally. Every vehicle and manufacturer will have owners with really bad luck, even if the majority of owners have no/minor issues. So, it's unfortunate that you dealt with that, but this car is way better than you lead on. 😊
I had a 2015 gt with 7500 miles, I traded in on a 19 Bullet. Almost have 10 k mi on it now. Magnaride suspension with the Ford racing upgrade. Actually really good on the Twisties. Removed the front resonator and installed a h pipe. For me, perfect sound with the factory active exhaust. My daughter says it is annoying. 😂 Perfect!. Could have bought a Vette, or a Porsche. Didn't, wanted a mustang.
I love my 18 convertible, its my daily driver and is surprisingly fuel effective. Brakes are pretty dam good, the car is pretty quick but yes any new EV will beat you off the lights but thats not the point its just a fun car to drive.
2018 GT Premium, USA - 50,000+ miles - I have none of the problems mentioned - No rattles or squeaks. I have had the water pump and front strut assemblies replaced under Ford extended warranty, no cost to me. Love this car - Biggest issue, do I keep it or do I purchase a new S650 when available 🤠
I drove a 2015 GT for 3 years in minnesota (daily 30 miles round trip to work) on the stock tires. Best car i ever had, still regreat not buying it after the lease.
I love the mustang, even hired one from Hertz for a trip up the NSW coast(yes I got a ticket). you just can't beat the V8 roar, BUT head ruled heart and are looking for KIA Stingers
2021 GT is my daily and 2020 GT350 is my "special occasion" car. I could not be happier with a car! That being said, I sold 2019 BMW 530xd and replaced it with the GT. Best decision ever! 🙂
If you find a nice example that has been well cared for. As always check any car for abnormal wear & tear. With both the V8 & 4cly you must & I mean must change the oil every 8000-10,000k these are high performance sports cars & must be treated accordingly. Anything that has missed services or long intervals between oil changes run away for the hills.
Yeah I'd love one thanks ... but ... can't justify the cost to purchase let alone the cost of fuel at $2.30 cents per litre. And if I did decide to buy it would have to be the V8. No matter how good the 4 cylinder might be it just doesn't sound or "look" like a mustang.
Bought a used 2019 GT Premium in October of 2020 with the digital instument cluster in Orange Fury, original msrp was about $52k U.S., sticker price with 38k miles was $39k, after they over paid me for my trade in I rolled the positive trade equity into a down payment making my 2.54apr loan a very affordable payment. Regular maintenance is all its needed. Replaced coolant, diff and trans fluids, and other normal maitenance as needed. Added dark as is legal tint, Barton Hybrid 3 transmission mounted shifter, Steeda Clutch spring, previous owner added a frt strut tower brace and some racing stripes via wrap. Its been wonderful to drive and pretty great just to look at. If I get another Mustang it will be a Mach1.
I am on my third Mustang. One 2017, one auto 2018 and now a manual 2018 (Whipple supercharged). The 2017 had poor panel gaps but no other issues. The first 2018 was perfect and now the manual 2018 is perfect, apart from a weak manual. I’ve had it replaced once. But it is an issue even in naturally aspirated form. But there is aftermarket options to get around this. For the moment, granny shifting and throttle blipping is a must!
Itsm can be set to blip the throttle for you yeah?? And whats qeak about it the gearbox itself or the clutch?? Im interested in buying one but this review doesnt seem too good
@@chrismarshall8381 Hi Chris, the 2018’s didn’t come with auto blip. From 2019 onwards they did. The gearbox is the weak point, not the clutch. From my research, the shift forks are the main weak point. However, granny shift (I.e. don’t flat change) and you can make it last.
@@xtgt326 had any issues with lockout at high rpm? From what i've seen online, its the stock shifter and pissweak clutch thats the main problem with the mt82. its a shame Ford dont put the tremec in the standard gt's.
@chrismarshall8381 I personally have had 2 mustang gt's a 2016 auto and 2021 manual. I know lots of other mustang owners. The mt-82 is bad if you are a bad driver. It's fine if you are a good one. But not great. I have one friend with 95k on his and he beats the day light out his car. But he can shift. I have another friend with 58k miles 712hp drives modesty and can shift very well. No issues. That's not to say issues don't exist, but just from my personal perspective, it honestly comes down to skill and how you treat them.
Excellent review. One of the best really that I have seen on RU-vid. If I may, I would like to add one more thing that may have been overlooked and that is the paint quality. I own a 2017 ( bought it brand new) GT with the performance package in black and the paint is horrible. It is very thin and it chips so easily especially on the rear front quarter panels and the front hood. Unless you ppf the car, and that doesn't always work, you will need a touch up pen handy "all" the time. I have also spoken to other 2015-2022 mustang owners and they all complain of this including paint chipping, paint flaking, and paint pitting from the poor paint process at the factory. But in the end, these mustang are meant to be driven and driven hard and I look at those issues as war wounds and a badge of honour, and when the time is needed I will give it a paint refresh. The S550 is such an amazing car that Ford continued it through the S650 so that is telling. In the end it's a mustang thing and for those that own one, wow do we love it. Thank you for your video and to many more. Cheers.
@@GumboDaShootaI test drove a stinger and wasn't blown away with the performance, but the interior was amazing and does everything good as a daily. I ended up with the 10 speed 5.0 and it's a beast.
I can’t stand that they left the handbrake as is… as if they looked at it and said should we change it over while we do the steering wheel… and a Detroit bean counter said “nah, fark it”
It is annoying and you're right, it would have been purely a financial decision but Ford spending many millions designing, researching, testing and manufacturing a right hand drive specific hand brake to keep a relatively small percentage of customers happy simply doesn't make financial sense. They are purely in the business of making money. It is annoying but it's the culmination of many small costs that are quite often the reason most manufacturers don't make a car like the Mustang in the first place. I'm personally happy to put up with a few annoying idiosyncrasies if it means we can have a rear-wheel drive V8, 2-door retro looking modern day muscle car. - AK
@@ReDriven totally agree…. 7 years later and I’m still salty over the demise of the falcon… I now pick the sh!t out of ford products when the opportunity arises … lucky for me I don’t have to try hard, they score that many own goals 😆
@@markward2824 You cannot blame Ford for killing the Falcon. It comes down to people preferring dual cabs and SUV's instead of affordable family 4 door sedans.
My brother-in-law had a V8 mustang 2016. Bought it during Covid19 lockdown. It had the aftermarket body kit, performance exhaust, painted in metallic purple, dual silver racing stripes and 20" racing rims. It looked like a Matchbox Car. It had some punch to it. He sold it after lockdown for a $15 k profit.
I own a 2020 GT with the 10 speed, and I would note, that used, I would never by a heavily modded car. Outside of a cat back exhaust, and MAYBE a cold air intake with a tune from a reputable programmer. You can be sure anything with further mods has probably seen some solid abuse, especially a car with an aftermarket blower.
Hell yeah best thing I did!! I got my Manual 17 GT PP1 for 30K with 8,909 miles on it.... It still smells brand new still, like it rolled off the line still it's amazing. Who ever had it before me kept it in a garage and barely drove it, down the shore in South Jersey and traded it in on a C8 corvette.. Then as soon as I saw it pop up on the net I jumped on it.. There was no way I was letting anyone else get my car.. I went right down there with my savings and bought it... There was no way I was buying another 4 banger turbo car again.. Oh yeah and finally, I didn't buy my car to listen to the radio.. The music is always turned down. I spend all my time listening to that Coyote...
you guys ever considered doing a section talking about what it might cost to insure the car? Granted that might be difficult to do for all markets but still
Great question Angus. We have looked into it but it is a huge can of worms and we simply don't have the infrastructure to make it happen. The majority of our audience is outside of Australia and trying to provide an accurate indication on insurance cost varies on quite literally, thousands of variables. It's not impossible, but it's bloody close to it. - AK
Not just because I have one because I could have bought either one!! But I love the look of the 15's to 17's way way better than the 18's to 23's.. It's just a way better look in the front of the car. Not knocking what anyone has, they are all nice cars either way and it's all an opinion..
Mustang is a love/hate relationship for all the reasons you pointed out kinda pretty, loud and fun but its damaged goods...it's like dating a Kardashian. P.S. Great video review!
I am on my 3rd Mustang since 2019, my current one is the very last of the old shape and will be my last one which I will probably keep as I don't like the shape or interior of the very latest model. All have been 6 speed manual and not my daily driver. For the money, they are hard to beat in my opinion. I enjoy driving the Mustang just as much as I enjoy my F80 M3 and C63.
Regarding the cup holder, its bec ford didnt bother changing the position of cupholders. That design is for left had drive. So is a little farther from your shifting arm. Idk know why they didnt.
Was wondering when this would make an appearance in a review video from you guys and you didn't disappoint with it lol. A guy my dad talked to at his work had one of these and was glad to be rid of it when he traded it for a Nissan GT-R. Apparently the bloke in question had a myriad of problems with it the main ones being the cruise control would engage under 90kph, the Chinese made gear box that it came with from the factory with wouldn't engage into 8th on it properly and the factory rims kept throwing wheel weights on him and like you guys said it was sucking the juice down quicker than an airplane toilet lol. Good work guys as always and look forward to next week's videos as per usual 👍.
In the UK it got a GPF and £15k slapped on the price tag, so it's not that appealing when you're now in Audi and BMW territory. Ford cashing in on the limited options on V8s and they're looking to continue milking it with the S650 😟
Yes you buy one! I bought a new 2020 GT A10 with Magneride during the start of covid for 8k below retail in Australia. Like the video says , is it perfect? No. The transmission isnt as good as a twin clutch like a had in my Golf R but it is quick when you are letting it do its thing, its just no the same trying to drive it in 'manual mode' with the paddles. The V8 rumble makes up for all that and the Mustang looks great and gets peoples attention (sometimes unwanted attention) but it looks great regardless. It was my daily for 3 years without issues, now its my weekend toy and keeper long term. Just be careful with the Michelin PS4S tyres during winter and cold weather, take it easy! This car with its looks and V8 is awesome value for money, at least when I got mine. I see the new model is around 90K AUD for very similar performance but with a lot more screens inside......
Quality Video - Love the Outakes! So Im an Aussie living in the UK, when I was on the look out for a new car in 2019, I looked at the Mustang as I have the blue oval at heart! But after trying to get my then 9YO daughter in the back and noticing the build quality, I couldnt make the option stack. Ended up in a 2019 M4 Competition which has so much of the Mustang Character, but more in every other way than engine note. keep the videos coming guys!
Had mine for 4 years, door actuators were not the problem it's the adapter plugged into it, It works its way loose so you have to pull the door skin off and clean it and plug it in firmly
Yes buy it if you really like it but like most HSV owners, be truthfully aware of what you bought. The Bathurst 6 hour production race run during Easters will more or less explain things. Watching an M2 competition fly past the Mustangs lapping them and most others says it all.
It's an interesting debate regarding build quality. A better way to look at build quality IMO is to consider durability reliability and the cost of servicing to both service or fix stuff. If you compare the Mustang GT to say a Maserati or a Mercedes. The Mustang is far superior. Leaky rocker cover gaskets in the Maserati will cost $1,000s. The Ford... don't leak and if they did it won't cost much to fix. Seriously tempted to buy a Bullitt...
They will still cost you thousands in repair bills over a couple years of ownership though, stuff just breaks more than you would expect. More than a Mercedes in my experience.
@@Blaidd7542 Since its a Ford, parts and labour wont be nearly as expensive compared to the Euro brands. Gotta service them every 5-10k km if its driven hard or doing alot of track days. Like they say, if you cant afford the service/maintance you cant afford the car.
I bought a mustang eco boost, the fuel economy is great (6.4L/100 on arun to Philip Island) the only issue i have is its penchant for coolant. A quick visit to my mech who did a TK test. This test has a blue liquid which stays blue but when it turns yellow , it means head gasket. So if your looking at an EcoBoost perform a TK test, Hopefully the dealer can repair the engine. There is a fix that uses head studs and a better head gasket. Head studs rom ARP are a better option than standard bolts . Hopefully it doesnt cost a fortune for the repair.
EVs are a con. How much to replace a battery? 15 fridges running for 24 hrs for one charge equivalent. Five times the amount of copper and huge amount of rare earth minerals including cobalt which is mined by slave children in Africa. Don't forget that your basically siting in a massive EMF radiation car every time your in the thing and it weighs heaps and takes a lot to stop. Just a few points to consider. The mustang is waaaaaaaay better.
