For others watching this video - my ex had a Nissan Qashqai she bought new and had 5 years warranty - it would periodically set of the CEL ( Check engine light ) and she would report this to the dealer and take it in to get repaired under warranty. She did this about 8 times in 4 years while the car was under warranty - all the dealer did was reset the light. After 4 years she forced the dealer to accept the car back under our major fault / problem laws in the ACL . The dealer initially refused so she informed Nissan of what was happening ( the dealer never contacted Nissan about the reoccurring issue ) , To keep it short she stuck to her guns armed with knowledge of Australian Consumer Law and was refunded 100% of the value of the vehicle by the dealer. She achieved this with no legal costs to lawyers ( parasites) but simply educated herself with information provided online for free from many Government departments both state and federal.
No rust issues yet after 3 years. But battery is always flat. Dealership said there is nothing wrong with it. So I must be just imagining it. Thx ldv you fuxks!
That is pretty amazing. I had a Ford and had issues and to get warranty done was unreal. Then i had a Mercedes and same scenario, warranty, what is that. Good that LDV actually stands by their warranty not like some companies
Time is the fire in which we burn. A good outcome is one thing, but I prefer to spend a couple $ more for less wasted time and fewer headaches. Rust prevention is about the basics and if LDV can't even get the basics right ...
Hey mate, I'm about to go through the same process. Had it booked in for a service recently and the service provided came back with the following issues; - cracked dash cluster - aircon leak behind dash (aircon no longer works) - leak between transfer case and gear box - leaf springs require replacing - leaf spring bush's require replacing - rear left shock leaking Paint missing along top of windshield similar to yours (no rust there..yet) Rust in various small spots, specifically the tray I'm booked in for the warrnt service in a few days. Would love your advice as I go through the process. If they won't fix those issues I'll be seeking a similar outcome Vehicle is 3 years old and done 66k.
I have a mate with a 2019 t60 trailrider. Between brand new and now he’s had 2x lots of body mounts replaced, all 4 doors replaced (and is about to go back in for its second set of rear doors) and the fire wall retreated… very safe to say that they don’t mind rusting away!…
Take the money and run before they change there mind. You did your homework, wrote a very good response to LDV which left them no choice but to offer a full refund. Now go and buy a run out Triton....
no other dealership would do that. Good on LDV now that service doesnt matter you buy if there are major issues they should recognised and fixed without you having to go through crap its your hard money at the end of the day
Great outcome. They still tried to rip you off by offering a “market value” buy back which is clearly outside the law though. Others might not be so educated or lucky. Class action anyone?

Hi there Mike. I’ve had an absolute nightmare with my LDV T60. it’s a 2022 model model. I’ve had everything from my alternator going six months ago with my car being off the road for 6 to 8 weeks due to not having any spare alternators in the country so luckily I was able to get a higher vehicle, three months to buy my vehicle my drivers seat started fraying and LDV told me it’s normal wear and tear which I fought and they eventually replaced the upholstery months later. It’s fraying again! I bought a manual and my clutch has been nothing but a nightmare with an independent mechanic telling me that there is definitely something wrong with it and the release point was way too low. I mentioned this to LDV who inspected it and said it was normal. The clutches becomes so bad now that I sometimes can’t even get it into reverse or other gears. You pay $45,000 for a new vehicle. You expect a lot more customer service has been pathetic at both dealerships that I’ve taken it to my door handles which are the chrome doorhandles are now flaking and my event control mechanism just fell out. On top of all of that looking under my vehicle, I’ve just noticed rust which brought me to your video. it’s been an emotional rollercoaster over the past two years and almost had me giving up. I appreciate your video and any advice for me would be helpful thank you Chris.
Capitalism can suck, us hard labourers can only afford 2nd hand utes, please rich contractors buy something decent or you will have trouble reselling Chinese crap and ultimately be selling us labourers crap. Use your head, if you are worried about the environment buy a Japanese brand or wait for the new arrival of VW collaboration with Ford. Mercedes G class is the way to go if you have money, it's made to haul weight it's rated for 2 tonne, not even the Landcruiser comes close to 2 tonne. Maybe in 15 or 20 years the Chinese will stop using recycled steel in new cars and become a wise choice
I know you will get a lot of comments on the poor build quality of Chinese built vehicles but you may know were LDV comes from as with the Chinese built MGs it comes from the UK because it stands for Leyland Daf Vans and of course they made vans and there still British LDVs driving around but will these Chinese built LDVs still be running in 30 years time as the British built LDVs are thats something British buikd quality is better than Chinese build quality well British build quality is pretty crap what us Chinese build quality is even worse much worse don't forget most British car brands are gone because of there inferior build quality says a lot for Chinese build quality there is no quality control in China asthere is nobody to control the quality l own a 1997 Toyota Hilux ute and it has no rust issues at all and thats due to to Toyota's excellent build quality

I have exactly the same ute and the same rust along top of windscreen. They are doing a warranty repair repainting the entire upper half of vehicle at a local paint shop.
Seems to be a lot of them. At least they are taking action I guess. They classed mine as “uneconomical to repair” then gave a full refund. I would argue that if there is rust along the windscreen then the chances of it everywhere else are very high. You don’t want to be 2 years down the track and have the bottom of the doors rusting out etc.
Yeah true. I grew up driving Holden so rust is something I see as a feature lol. As long at it holds up mechanical wise until my lease is up it will be ok.
If you are an Aussie that ever owned a holden between about 1960 and 1980 you should be use to rust and use to buying bog once a year or two , the good ole simple days- better probably than weird ass electronic failures, mechanical turbo wirbo problems, injector crapector issues, shitty bibs n bobs sensors sendn ya car into limp mode so as a dealer can charge a $1000 to plug a bullshit tool in to say they csnt find the fault.- gimmee a rusty LDV over that shit ( all for 20 grand less)
I would have sooner had a vehicle that didn't rust but to refund the full purchase price of the vehicle is setting an example to other manufacturers as to how to treat their customers.
I think you'll find that most manufacturers are treading this path. I haven't come across any modern vehicles that are built to the same standards as stuff from the mid to late 90's....especially Japanese cars. I have a 2021 Toyota Hiace van, and while it's an excellent car, the paint is way too thin and the panels are not robust enough. Very light contacts have already resulted in creases and paint chipped down to bare metal. This is why I will never get rid of my 98 Nissan Patrol.....cars of this era were actually built to last.
My 1998 Honda XR600R still has a pristine swingarm, even after years off abuse and dirty storage after a wet ride. In comparison, our Chinese bike's swingarm started rusting within one year.
@@AnarchyEnsues I can enter my old XR600R into an enduro, and we won't finish last. But I dumped my Chinese bike after three years. I could not even give it away.
It’s interesting. I have a LDV G10+ van and I have now got 110,000km on it. Still runs like new and it does 1000km a week. The only issue I have is not so much corrosion like you have but any stone chips sometimes lead to the paint delaminating from the steel and growing. Easy enough fix though. These vans handle incredibly well on rough windy roads and the engine with the ZF transmission is fantastic. If they sorted the paint issues these would be top notch.
I am seriously considering the My23 G10+ van for work. I am having second thoughts after reading all the negative reviews online. Your post made me consider LDV again.
The value of the vehicle they are using is based on national sale average, same as redbook but more broken down, most dealers have this available, it’s how we get trade in values, well how most of us get them anyway
Hi mate, I just bought another 2 of the t60 also. Honestly for the price and warranty I’m all good, all depends on what you are wanting from a car. I can’t fault the warranty process, 10 x better than having to deal with Toyota or Mazda that’s for sure. Keep me update on your LDV journey
full refund is the only acceptable outcome, im guessing LDV is the only group that would do this word gets around aussie fellas and this video (although a quality issue) is prolly 60k worth in positive advertising if you want a model recommendation, audi has galvanised panels and a Q7 3.0 diesel will prolly cost 12k at 80kph itll do 6.8L/100 115kph itll do 8.2L/100
You bought a Chinese LDV T60 & it has rust & corrosion. Why does that not surprise anyone. See if you can buy a Toyota or Nissan for $28,990 & see how you go. You get what you pay for....junk!
@@benny360 Ssangyong is a Korean brand, and they have the same suppliers as Hyundai/Kia. It's like comparing chalk and cheese. The Chinese designed and developed stuff like GWM and LDV are pure shit
