I mean when the ps4 was dusty the camera was a lot further away then when he cleaned it , then the camera was a lot closer to the ps4 , he should have put the camera on the same distance both times to hear a difference ( if there is a difference )
Removing the power supply is really important. Try it again. When u remove it u can get to the heat sink and ur gonna find a huge amount of dust backed up there. Also, another tip. Make sure ur hold the fan still while blowing the air on it. Causing it to spin can create an electrical current that could damage other parts since its still hooked up to the motherboard.

Good video, just a little addition here: when using an air can or vacuum on the fan make sure to hold it in place so it can't spin. The fan is powered by an electric motor that can actually generate electricity when spun manually which can be really damaging to the fan
I think the reason why there isn’t really a difference is the location of where you keep it it looks like it’s in a cubby hole with not a lot of air circulation it’s just rotating the hot to warm air so the fan is on high I think if you had it out on a table top it’d be better plus maybe the inclosed location is probably making the sound sound worse than it really is
He should've popped out the power supply and get all the dust in between the fan connecting to the back of the case, I opened mine up and there's so much dust where he didn't clean, once I put it back together the fan sounded like it finally had the space to cool off the system..
@@theorenmaybee7927 plus need to apply new thermal paste to the APU and REALLY break down the PS4. This was the most basic breakdown and it was more like a quick wipe down than a real clean.
You should never ever let the fan free spin when cleaning, there is always a coil inside your fan, it could build an electromagnetic field and discharge enough current to dammage your console
I think it was fasttech that did a thorough cleaning video by taking it all apart, cleaning it and putting new thermal paste in that made a huge difference.

Are you trying to kill people? Don’t fucking do that, if you touch the power supply at all, plugged in a power source or not, you’re going to die. It’s like a battery, it still stores electricity meaning if you touch it, you’re going to get electrocuted.
Gordon Ramsay if u trust yourself take the whole thin. Apart including the mother board power supply hard drive and the metal panel over the mother board of course clean everything and make sure u take the thermal past that is in the ps4 off and apply some more abought the size of a pic of rice on the cpu/gpu takes time but mine makes no sound after words had it for 5 years
Not only the cpu, the ram as well. I always replace the thermal paste and pads when I work on ps4s because it can help a ton depending on how far gone the pads are.
Kevin Peltier yup that's the main part where every guy forget to do so. Dust mainly stuck in that part u mention. My first time I clean up everything but I didn't clean that part n u can't look that deep. Because u need to Open up ur fan to do that. If u cle an up ur fan using so.e car oil n clean the whole heatsink thoroughly. Problem with that is u need to use a proper thermal paste to do that. U must clean old thermal paste n use MX5 or Arctic Cold. Those will made ur ps4 run like a brand new machine. Mine used to shut down only after 15 minutes of playing. Now i run days after days for those update to download. I play a lot of games on my ps4. N every game now a days has minimum 15 to 30 th download space needed. That s why my ps4 almost always on. I told him how I fix the sound problem with my overheat issue. If he did it right the ps4 will run like a brand new machine. Not make a sound even u played 10 hours straight.
asifur rahman why the hell do you run your ps4 for updates in the first place..? You realize automatic updates and rest mode is a thing right? It was even advertised when the console was announced. I’ll never understand why people can’t grasp that simple reality of 8th generation consoles...
Actually he's not wrong...Having something sucking the fan from the outside basically pulling on it, can strip screws, crack the fans plastic and a shit ton of other things you shouldn't even do if you care for your console
You have to remove the power supply and blow out the dust from the fan from behind the power supply. That's the part that makes the PS4 loud. All the other dust doesn't really matter
I went to the car wash and used high pressure air to dust off my ps4 sadly the fan wings are scattered and it can’t run for 5 Minutes without it shutting off
Sponge Bob 24 it can damage your ps4 even tho it is not plugged in it works on some other type of energy of than the electricity that is used to power your ps4. Letting it spin while your ps4 is off makes it think that the ps4 is overheating and it may fry some components in your ps4.
@@marcomartinez4200 I've hoovered my fan many times making it go crazy fast both directions it's all good, it's got a bearing its mean to spin lol. If you unplug it from the power source first the only thing it will generate is wind carrying dust.
AK TREVOR here is how to make a difference take your PS4 and put it into a fish tank that is big enough to fit the PS4 and put nice refreshing cool water into the tank and then every day add some ice cubes to keep it cool, it is a great cooling system I use it, I guess it is like pc water cooling
Well you can avoid this by 1: having a PlayStation slim to reduce noise if not then (;_;) 2: clean it externally with a cleaning cloth 1 month if it’s new and you constantly do it 3:have it open spaces where dust don’t build up 4: should last a very long time Had my slim for a few years now still quiet as a cat but with a little dusk in cracks I can’t get.
You do realize it’s also louder because of the way you had your console situated. You had it in what looked like a cupboard or a cubbyhole.. witch projects the noise. I’m sure you’re aware of this already.
the reason why that This guys PS4 was sounding like what it did before because he kept playing it too much and it still sounds the same when he cleaned it
This stuff really works. I didnt clean my ps4 for 2 years and the difference is amazing, it barely makes any sound. I used a very low powerd vaccum for the fan so the dust wouldnt settle back in the console.
MotorHead74808 yesterday i opened mine up, got an air compressor and blew it out with that. the issue is the canned air doesn’t have as much pressure as the air compressor and it doesn’t have enough force to blow the dust out of the console. with canned air it kinda just moves it off the fan and into a different area so ur not really cleaning anything. you need lots of air pressure to get the dust out. mine had dust blowing out of the sides when i was pointing at the fan, that’s what u want.
It wouldnt sound the same if you actually took out the power supply and cleaned the heatsink vents as well as the fan. Also stopping the fan from moving and letting the air properly get into each blade without spinning non stop causing the air to spin the fan isnt really cleaning it properly neither. Make sure to put a bit off pressure to stop the fan and try it again to get a nice clean on the ps4. But 100% your biggest issue could easily be the heatsink was not cleaned at all and being blocked by the power supply. Another thing that can also help is cleaning the old thermal paste thats on the APU and adding fresh thermal paste on it. Watch a video on that and trust me you will have it insanely silent after those steps.
My PS4 is cleaned and I’ve played it for like 5 hours and still no noise, don’t know what is wrong with your PS4 but my is working perfectly after clean.
You did nothing. You skipped the most important part by not taking out the power supply. Its the only way to clean the heat sink. Do not let the fan free spin. Get it out of the hole you have it sitting in.
So true. I'm kinda afraid of breaking something though... lol. Last thing I need to do is buy a new PS4 with only 2-3 or so years to go left on this console generation. My PS4 is the Day One standard PS4... so I count my lucky stars. :p
my dumbass cleaned my ps4 back in january and when i tried taking out the psu it knocked one of those prongs or whatever they're called and i didnt know what to do for 3 months all i had to do was straighten in out
FIY if yall ps4 sound like jet all time mostly... Cleaning the dust not enough guys, u must replace the thermal paste also with good quality thermal paste too.. It will solve the heating problem, cuz the current paste already dry!!
Choki3LOQ I’ve tested this before, your PS4 is metaphorically working “overtime” when your thermal paste has gone bad, that is why your fan is so loud. If you replace the thermal paste with new and possibly even higher quality paste your fan will not feel the need to work as hard. Case and point that cleaning the dust is only half the job. Thermal paste will make your PS4 very very quiet
@@TheLastRockett it won't make it silent, but in his case it should help quite a bit. Plus, there is likely dust on the heatsink. I would also highly recommend replacing the thermal pads on the ram chips as well
He didn’t clean it out properly, he missed the whole other side of the fan and ps4 which is where the real problem is at. After you remove that dust it will be as silent as it was when you first bought it

My ps4 was loud af. But after taking the WHOLE thing apart, even the fan, it still made a little bit of noise, but it turned out to be 100× quieter. If your too scared to do it, I understand, but dont rush it, take your time
