I don’t think any republicans were labeled misogynistic at the time. We certainly didn’t shout it all day online. As someone who voted for Hillary, I learned how sexist the democratic party is by choosing Obama over Hillary when no one knew anything about him. It’s great that he turned out to be a good president, but we didn’t know that. People voted for him because he was a “young cool Gen X”. So, that was the day the democrats lost favor with me.

The George Floyd incident never looked to me to be racially motivated. During that time my own son was going through a drug induced psychosis and he attacked several people before finally attacking me and his mother. Fortunately I managed to subdue him by getting him in a headlock. The thought was running in my head the whole time that holding him too long like that could kill him. It was all I could do to hang on though. He was begging pathetically just like Floyd but it was obvious that if he got loose my upper hand would be lost and the threat to me and my wife would be on again. I saw that cop as being in a very similar situation with regards to the risks he was taking. From my understanding the other police that were there were recruits and probably inept in their abilities, so it made perfect sense in continuing to use that particular hold to keep him subdued. Of course it looked terrible, but unless you're aware of the full context of the threat it's difficult to articulate the danger. It took 6 police officers to safely remove my son from my protection but worst, it was an eternity before that happened. By the end of the ordeal I was exhausted and I almost didn't have enough strength to hold him. The point is if I knew of an easier way to keep him subdued like that cop was doing I would have used it. He could have died either way and I love him as much as any father can love a son. Sure that cop may be guilty of something but from my experience there was nothing in what I saw that could confirm it. On the plus side my son is now 2 years clean and going strong thanks partly to Jordan's work. We're both big fans...

By your logic the only thing that protected me from an accusation of murder is that I was lucky he didn't die. Forget that the medical reports indicated that Floyd probably succumbed to the effects of the drugs he was on and try and see it from a position of desperation and a need to protect himself Floyd and the other law enforcement officers that were there. Hopefully your daughter is on the other end. My son is doing extremely well, so be encouraged that it can turn completely around. I still have underlying trauma from it but every day is a blessing. @@annetinkler6081 I guess that comment was more directed at Piers calling out for the harshest punishment in the case of the syrian boy incident in school - at that point Piers actively partook in framing the whole thing without checking even the tiniest bit whether it was true. Tommy's documentary (which he was ordered not to show) highlights the real story and all the government "involvement" in that case. As for Piers' interviews with Tommy... that's just Piers' general attitude in debates. Mostly attacking, talking over them, without actually discussing points with them... but all in all, yes - Piers definitely owes Tommy a major apology in my opinion. For media & public figures, absolutely. They're all about silencing people who refuse to buy into or agree with their insanity. A corrupt, weaponized legal system recently ordered Alex Jones to pay a billion dollars simply for stating his OPINION - which he truly believed was correct at the time - then later corrected himself as more facts came out. His freedom of speech NOR his right to free press mattered IN A COURT OF LAW. They wanted him silenced. So it's only fair for those same corrupt public figures to experience equal targeting & violation of rights. I would have to disagree. Biden wanted a black woman. A capable one though, not just any. By just dismissing the fact that she is also competent (or at least had a lot of credentials) because she has also ticked a box that helped in terms of demographics is wrong. It is a fallacy in terms of arguments go because it reduces the person and attributes the reduction to someone else, which is, again, less than half of the story.
The job for the vice presidency is once of the most important jobs in the country. You want the best person. Period. Do you think Kamala Harris was the best person Biden could have picked? Also, identity politics is far more dangerous and stupid than you think. The essence of identity politics is to say that people should vote for individuals based on their identity group not on left vs right issues. Meaning, a black person is going to serve the interests of black Americans at the expense of the interest of white Americans. That is terrible way to set up a country. This creates horrible corruption and does come at the cost of merit, because the whole society starts to adopt on tribal lines because they can sense that everyone is becoming tribal, so they do it for survival. It trickles down into the relationships between the people and completely destroys social trust and cooperation. There’s no excuse for this intervention.
