Man your channel is so fucking perfect. Fun content + relatable 500 elo chess content + nice guy commentating. I'm always waiting for new uploads. I really hope this channel grows
Desperado* and no, it doesn’t require both sides to hang a piece. Only that one player is in a position that will lose a particular piece but they have the option of making an attack with said piece (either to capture or even just damage an opponent’s own structure/position) before they lose it. Check Chesscom’s definition if you for whatever reason don’t believe it.
you better read all ur comments because i think i need to see a therapists cause of you. i am now addicted to chess because of ur videos. it could be because i havent been able to sleep cause of the heat but for the last 3 days when i close my eyes i immediately start thinking of chess moves in my head. ur content is really entertaining, keep it up
I'm a huge fan already. This is the chess content I never knew needed. The first video I watched made me think you're a really strong player doing commentary on 600 elo games. But the more I watch, the more I believe you are real. The comedic time is absolutely brilliant and your enthusiasm shines through. Much thanks for sharing! Dying to know your story
Haha soo witty, did you make up that age old phrase “mate in 8, run to corner and hope for stalemate”? More entertaining than watching the pros confidently mop up material while playing lower elo players
6:10 It's so interesting to notice how the lowest rated players seem to have a refined, unmatched skill to find the worst possible moves in a winning scenario That was the only move on the board which guaranteed stalemate
7:27 probably experience, but usually Like in this Situation you Take the least active piece (Bc1), cause If you have to move anyway cause of the Check, use an passive piece, so you are Not Losing a tempo, cause you activate a passiv piece and also Challenge His active bishop , anyway nice Video 🎉
Games like Game 1 are my nightmare scenario, because it’s just a player who’s moving their queen over and over and picking off your pieces one by one, forcing you to abandon whatever your game plan was to defend their bullshit. It’s the next level up from the “tries the Scholar’s Mate/Fried Liver, finds it doesn’t work, then resigns” players at the 200/300 Elo range. Then, whenever you ask higher Elo players for advice, you just get “play defense” or “harass the queen until you have the advantage,” but you never have the advantage, because your shit’s getting sniped the whole time!
my friend got into chess lately, she's 150 elo and I'm 1300. She insists to play with me, I beat her every time to the point it's not fun anymore. The thing is I'm so bad at explaining chess stuff to her. So, I showed her a bunch of youtube vids from GMs. She said they're just too much for her and not fun. This channel definitely gonna motivate her to learn more about chess
I love this sm but please.. never trade whenever you're down material lol, it's a horrible idea. If you have no pieces left you're guaranteed to lose at some point. ALSO you should learn the Vienna as white! It's a devastating opening, and it's not hard to learn
man ur commentary is awesome notes on time management that worked with me (if you are below 700) 1- DO NOT TRY TO FOLLOW UR OPPONENT'S TIMER, if he didn't make his pace slower like yours he will eventually blunder something. (he will have time to think with your time but with low elo chess they are really impatient and they will eventually make mistakes 2- do not waste much time in opening, like have an opening and a set up you like on black and white and use it. (this will help u be more focused). in case you see a complicated exchange/ an absurd move (like a piece getting in a territory filled with your pieces) take your time to analyze the situation to see if your opponent made a mistake (double check before making your move) 3- have a plan every now and then on what you want (there is no specific timing, basically whenever you feel like there is a big change on board), (you can work these out while your opponent is thinking by predicting the most optimal move in your opponents turn and plan accordingly) 4- give a minimum of whatever the bonus time (you could increase if needed) is for each move to avoid blundering your pieces 5- take your time on exchanges and keep an eye for tricks like forks, pins, or skewers also evaluate pieces exchanged which is better (unless there is immediate way to gain material/checkmate you don't have to trade) you can start practicing these rules by adding them one at a time to avoid making them confuse you during the game until you do them unconsciously and yeah keep up the good content (also I'm about 1300 if you are curious)
@ 7:35 i think it's just up to you... unless you are some IM/GM level player and know the best of the best moves for all sorts of BS. I like to block with pawn in that position because it attacks and defends, but i think if you like to trade pieces and get to endgame quicker then blocking with bishop and trading or knight is the way to go
I once got a stalemate against 4 (!) queens. I was only left with my knight when he got the second queen but instead of finishing me he moved all his stupid pawns and then failed to checkmate with 4 queens lol
Okay this is some of the most entertaining shit I've seen probably ever. Thanks for making videos, they really brighten my day. Also wHaT sOng wAs ThAt at ThE eND? I know it was probably just stock music but it was very good and I would like to know what it was
Thank you, sir. I enjoyed your video about Microorganisms. You sound like a future National Geographic host! You are great at narration and very knowledgeable. Here's the song in the video: ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-z0X6HZhiEPQ.html
@@OutrightIgnite THANK YOU I didn't expect you to actually respond! I wish you luck in any upcoming chess games you will play. As a fellow 600, I think this is the kind of chess content we all need to see. Thanks again!
I highly recommend getting diamond if you can pull it off because instant game review is exactly how you get to go back and find out what you should've done. Otherwise you only get the one free game review per day.
I figured he’d be using lichess if he wanted to be there. Many people (such as myself) prefer the visuals and presentation of Chesscom vs Lichess. But yes, that’s technically an option.
0:50 I saw something in this position that I had to check out in analysis. You actually don't have to defend with qe3. be2 is actually the top engine move because after black plays bxf3, you can play nxc7+ forking the black king and queen. After taking the queen it gets a little messy because white can forcefully win an exchange (bishop for rook) but you're significantly more developed at the end of the line and Stockfish says the position is actually slightly favorable (+0.09).
I am not good in chess but compared to you guys I feel like Gary Kasparov wtf was that stalemate in the first game and all those blunders in second game ? Couldn't he just take the pawns with the king then get another Queen just because I like Queens then checkmate ?
I’ll play until I know a late is coming and I can not stop it. Then I’ll resign. I don’t care if you’re happy with that, I’ll never, and I mean never, let you have the satisfaction of saying you actually got the mate.
7:18 just try play something that doesn’t look stupid; backwards moves 9/10 will be bad, so a move to kick out or counterattack the bishop is fine, no point moving knights as they are already good where they are
Oh, and I know you probably get a lot of random advice from strangers in the comments, but I actually have just gone from like 600 to 1271 in the past 6 months or so, and this is something that isn’t often talked about, but I think is VERY important. I noticed that something you do (and I used to do) is come up with these very complicated and unrealistic plans, and try stubbornly to make them work even if they just really won’t. Try to see how he could stop your plans, and don’t get so dead-set on them! Anyways, GLHF 😁
Definitely hurt the videos 😭 How're you going to follow along with my "genius ideas" when you see the eval bar going through the floor. (jk, kinda). Don't worry, I bring you to the promised land safe and sound.
I assume he’d continue to make content as he improves and sorta end up a bit like Levy - someone who isn’t that low Elo anymore but still understands the mindset and way of thinking and will probably be able to continue to be entertaining as a result with this sorta trademark style of humor of his that he’s been developing. Also for better or worse, he’s not improving very much it seems. A little while back I got worried cause it seemed like his Elo had been going up a good deal but he seems to currently be trapped in like the low-mid 600s so I think there’ll be time for plenty of content. I hate how that comes across as condescending or insulting no matter how I want to write it but I really don’t mean it that way. Fairly certain he’d beat me 7/10 times especially since I barely play humans due to being a lil bish who doesnt know how to either not be anxious or not get mad/overwhelmed the second something goes wrong. All my logic and rationality go out the window when I play it sucks. If I played half as much as I consumed RU-vid comment or even reddit posts I’d probably be 700+ by now but noooo
@@Taima Dude's been doing this for a month. If he keeps this up, he'll be 1000 before you know it and within a couple years dude will be giving actual real chess tutorials instead of goofy 600 ELO chess tutorials.
You think well bro how are you 600. I believe, if you train just a bit, you can go up to 800 easily. I recommend learning the London system, the Caro-Kann defence and the King's Indian defence, at this level they are simply OP. Those openings will carry your ass up to 1500, so you can focus more on your general chess mind. Fewer blunders, more ideas, more experience, and you'll be 1000 in less than a month. Then you'll learn more openings, like the English opening, Scandinavian defence etcetera.
Lmfao, you have a good vision, you just need to try to learn to be more logical. Try to see what happens after a move. Also probably my best advice: Try to see where a piece is going, not where it is, will help you blunder less, GGs
