I sat down with my L.R service advisor and asked him which extended warranty companies were the best. He gladly told me which ones were notorious for denying claims and which were super easy to deal with. After listening to his recommendations so far ive never had a claim denied on my 2015 SVR.

you nailed it this time !! I am on the CPO warranty until 9/23. Haven't had any real issues so far, just one O2 sensor , and a small leak in the SUSPENSION SWAY BAR FLUID RESERVOIR TANK. Mine is the 2019 RR Sport V8

I agree with every point you made. When we asked for an extended warranty, they offered us a third-party extended warranty and we didn't even consider it. When we insisted on the "Land Rover" warranty, the Finance guy had to struggle to find that pamphlet (or he pretended to)...we went with the "Land Rover" one. Fingers crossed we never need it, but it's good to know it's there.

Hey so if I’m looking into a Pre facelift L405 example a 2016 one and I purchase it from a BMW dealership, would I have to go an authorized Land Rover dealership to purchase a extended warranty?

Excellent video and replies. No car is perfect and they all have their issues. Range rover is a luxury vehicle and maintainence is the ssues on these cars. If you can fix it yourself...than you will be in a good position.

When you purchase the vehicle do you have to request this warranty at the dealership or do you have to purchase on your own. I'm located in the US? Also is it only for leased cars. Looking to purchase soon. Thanks.

No. They might force you. But read the fine print. I had to purchase one before the factory one expired. When I purchased the second extended warranty I had to do an inspection in order to purchase it. My car is leased as well. Doesn’t matter leased or purchased

I’ve had both the LR and a third party warranty on my Velar D300 here in the UK. The only issue is that you have to pay up front with the third party warranty, l then have to claim it back and they don’t cover the full LR hourly rate for labour, only about a third of it, but they’ve never turned a claim down and being a LR, there’s been a few. The LR warranty you don’t pay anything once it’s been repaired. It’s up for renewal in a couple of months so I’ll probably go back to LR. As I’d left the LR warranty and will be coming back, I will need to pay £300 for a full vehicle inspection at LR for the warranty company first and once it has the all clear, it’ll be around £900/£1,100 a year. 🇬🇧

Ouch not covering the full hourly rate could add up for sure. The inspection is honestly BS, try to get it worked in with any other work you might been that that time.

No. It’s the main one or Land Rover branded one that all dealerships will have. The business manager will know if you ask for it by name

Yes it does. The other one was shady when I was trying to get a straight answer from them in regards to that. I forget to mention it in the video

And to answer your question about air suspension giving me issues, NONE. Those tend to start acting up well past the 150k km mark.

should you get extended warranty for your Land Rover? Yes, make sure the warranty is a Land Rover product otherwise its just another way for a dealer to make more money out of you and also get the Land Rover five year service plan which pre pays your servicing for five years anywhere in the country.

In canada we dont get those pre service plans. I know those are super popular in the USA. They make so much sense, basically idiot proofs it for people who don't understand regular maintenance

It depends on how many miles you want and years you want. So the price can vary. The last one I purchased was coverage up till 178k kms and 3 years I believe. It was $8k CND. My first 2 claims were a total of $9000 🤣. Well worth it

They will push those third party cause they make a killing on commissions from them. Just tell them the one you want. The Land Rover branded one underwritten by LGM

@@DrivenHard I had the Continental Warranty on my 2017 BMW M4, the alternator failed, Continental would'nt cover it. BMW of Fort Washington got my back and only charged $600 to replace it, because they were suprised it was'nt cover. That was $4k down the drain

The air suspension is definitely not one of the weakest parts, just due to its design and being exposed as with any rubber it does over the life time of the car start to leak. I was more concerned about the other suspension components to be honest.

The weakest part of the car is the Nut behind the wheel, service and maintain your vehicle and don't do stupid shit. The last air bags we replaced on a Disco Four because they were leaking was at 380,000 kilometers.

@@DrivenHard No.... Average Land Rover owner in Oz is around 10 years trying separate a Land Rover owner from their car is like trying to take away one of their children. Seriously a huge number of cars just stay in the family. Once you have had a Land Rover everything else you buy will be benchmarked against it. The conversations go like "My BMW is a very nice car ... it's just not a Range Rover" and no I'm not having a go at BMW they really are a very nice car.

3rd party can also deny you a claim and say it was a preexisting condition.

Is this in regards to anything I was taking about or are you speaking in general? You are correct though, however it really depends on the warranty company you use and the shop you are going to. I just had a big talk with a shop here in BC that deals with 3rd party warranties and Land Rovers.

@@DrivenHard Just in general, 3rd party warranty companies usually will send someone out to the mechanic shop before they can approve any claims you made. Now this is if you are buying the warranty after the existing manufacturer warranty has already expired. Usually recommended to buy the extended warranty before your current one ends so theres no lapse. The lapse is where they can try to say you neglected the car during that time. You did it the correct way
