Should you go to college to be successful? Should you invest the time and money to pursue a college education? Do you need to follow the academic path in order to start a business?
Many people are starting to question whether college is really worth the money or time. It is important to understand that college can be a great path, depending on what it is that you want from your life. That is your starting point.
Ask yourself, “What do you want for your career and your life?” Depending on your long-term goals, there are different paths that you can take in order to get there.
The question I am asked a lot is, “If you want to be an entrepreneur, should you go to college to be successful?” My personal belief is, no.
Keep in mind that entrepreneurship is not an easy path to take. Success requires hard work and persistence, over the long-term. The legendary entrepreneur and motivational speaker Jim Rohn said it best: “Your level of success will rarely exceed your level of personal development”.
Entrepreneurship requires that you are always open to learning new things and enriching yourself, in order to keep up with the fast-changing trends. Find and seek out the people that have the results that you strive for and learn from them.
No matter what path you decide to take, make sure that you are doing it for YOU. If you are struggling with making this decision, sit back and ask yourself, “Who has set down the expectations for your life? Is it society? Your parents? Your teachers?
The choice to forge your own path to success is not always understood by others; use that misunderstanding as fuel in order to motivate yourself to prove them wrong, because when you follow your passion and forge your own path, you become an inspiration for others.
After reading this, if you are still wondering whether you should go to college to be successful, ask yourself, “What is the most efficient and cost-effective way to live the life that you desire?

most of the millionaires, and most successful people i know did not go to college. I went to college and got my degree in biology, now I am a realtor and an entrepreneur. College was a FANTASTIC experience. I learned a lot, I was able to come out and it opened my eyes on a lot of issues. So for me college was definitely worth it..But if you are looking to become an entrepreneur and not a 9-5 you do not need college, If i didn't go to college and I started as a realtor/ entrepreneur I would of prob already been a millionaire..Just follow what you want and make sure you know your vision! love your video. You have great points and very direct with information. I learn a lot from you. This statement makes me realize that college is not for me. I've been reading Robert Kiyosaki Rich dad Poor Dad which talks about the difference between the rich and the poor and what kind of education being taught in school. damn stefan your vids are really always a value bump! but i sit with this lets say i have going to school but was more an drop out and have not really an degree and yeah this has holding my back very hard that i am not enough etc but that i have well some qualities like that i know alot about disease and has read alot books on this topic how you can heal yourself naturally without medication but alone food as medicine and give your body the right triggers for heal itself. also i know very much about supplements and superfoods and cooking with healthy food. But i don't really know what to do in it first i thought for doing affiliate on this topic but i know i need some roadmap or something or i would fuck up a lot of time doing shit that not works etc... what is your advice stefan because you say it alot a vision is very important and also some mentor. And yeah like me now what if you don't really know what to do with it? Maybe is affiliate in it well a good option for in the health niche because it's still a big market.. thanks stefan!

Lots of truth spoken in this video. I went to Simon Fraser University for 6 years studying Engineering Physics and never ONCE did I ask myself "What do I really want out of life?" Family, friends, and society just ingrained this idea that post-secondary education = success, but it's so far from reality. This is why I commend the work that you're doing, Stefan. People don't know what they don't know, and we just need to show them alternatives. Most of the people I know dislike their job and live for 2 out of the 7 days in a week. And the sad part is, most just accept this as part of life. It doesn't have to be.

I think you should go to college if you intend to coast along and follow the traditional path. If you have proven you can sit down and make shit happen without going to college (ie you get into sales, you close some deals in the summer and you can do it consistently), you'll learn a hell of a lot more being an entrepreneur than any amount of years in college. Unless you want to study science. Science = go to college.

There's so much competition for jobs too. Your not guaranteed to get a good job after college or even success. It's also about who you know and your drive.

Crystal clear explanation, loved the video. I am 20 years old and am struggling to find my next step. I know the entrepreneurial lifestyle is the only option for me, it is what fires me up and keeps me going. I just opened up a small account and started investing into the stock market. Everything has its place cause some jobs require a degree . For instance I inquired into property management which is a very competitive field %50 have bachelors degree . %12 associates degrees . %4 high school diploma . Owning a company a degree isn’t required but it gives you tools where your odds are better . A sharpened mind is stronger than an unsharpened mind . The Bible’s says the wise store knowledge , information . The issue with young people is no one wants to research their degree . I took 2 years to pick what I wish to major in not guessing . I’m grateful for the opportunity given to me free education . Business administration matching my personality coupled with goals in life . Love the flexibility this degree gives me .

Most helpful advice I've ever received. I just had this argument with my Mom. I kept telling her I don't need school to get to where I want to be in life. I'm honestly just gonna have to let them think what they're gonna think, and let my results do all the talking. Thank you so much for this video. It's an eye opener.

Hey Stefan, I'm currently in college for 2 years now. I do want to be a very successful online entrepreneur, but I didn't realized this before I entered college 2 years ago and I have 2 years more time before graduating. Now I really want to quit college because I fail to see the alignment for this degree with my vision in life in the future. But I am currently having no money to even buy a product or joining seminars because I'm lack of money. I know I have to take part time job to make some money, be more resourceful and stuff...but in your opinion, is it the best thing for me to leave college for now? I really hope you reply me, this could be my life changing moments. :D

I've gotten tons of crap from family members for encouraging my younger cousins and nieces and nephews, to educate themselves in ways that will enhance their lives, that may not necessarily include getting a degree. I impress upon them I have 2 degrees because I wanted to learn the specific subjects (oh how I wish online line learning was as available back then, pre 1996) not to "get a job". I show them evidence in our own family of how staying loyal to building other people's wealth isn't a security blanket! 401k's have been robbed, hours and benefits cut or layoffs to hire contractual cheaper labour forces! There are so many better routes for people to follow their passions and can optimize money to pay for training, traveling abroad, etc. I spent over 150k bc back then you got the degree to get to the money. I never really used my degrees bc I always knew I'd wanted to be design builder, like my dad and jumped into entrepreneurship while still in high school. It's so much EASIER to do now! I'm a 43 yr old female who is enjoying learning the optimized ways of business, purposeful living and defining success for self! On top of that, I am one of the lucky few in my peer group who isn't STILL paying Sallie Mae! So many barriers have become a thing of the past (for those of us privileged enough to have easy access to information and internet that is) and it's time to shift the thinking of those coming up in younger generations! I've gotten a few of my cousins hip to Project Life Mastery and a few others with valuable actionable content and their minds are being blown

I've always wanted to be an entrepreneur and have a successful business. I've failed two businesses and now I don't know which business to start. So I'm back in school taking loans, but never go to class and keep failing cuz I hate it.... Help.! Lol

There are so many parts of this video that are 100% spot on for me. I'm going into my sophomore year of college and I don't want to. It's interesting that you started the video with figuring out what you want because during my freshman year, I defined that more clearly than ever before. I've published on amazon, but feel like the time and effort I put into my classes and 60 hour per week summer job create a massive opportunity cost for my success as an entrepreneur.

Elon Musk still went to college and finished.. Consider taking some classes at a community college. It's cheaper, it's a great place to explore and find passion, and most courses will transfer to a 4-year university. A good general education doesn't have to be expensive and it's never a waste. It's the lack of education in this country that worries me.

That's an excellent point. I think it will definitely be more difficult, we take for granted how much school gives us the chance to socialize. It will take more effort, but the opportunities are there. Jobs, Bars, academic clubs, other types of classes (I took one to improve public speaking), etc.

High school is free and if you don't have at least a high school education your gonna have very little opportunities to even get a basic job. I think he mostly referring to how people go to college wasting money and becoming in debt in something they don't want to do or even have a passion for.
