Hello! Though I understand where the hosts are coming from, i believe gentle parenting has been compared and likened more to authoritative parenting. Permissive parenting generally has a negative connotation unlike gentle parenting, where it is about a complete lack of boundaries (permissive) vs having fair and firm boundaries while still being warm (gentle parenting) other parents please feel free to chime in :)

Agreed! Many misconceptions in gentle parenting, it's not the same as permissive parenting. Gentle parenting is parenting with understanding

take all these with a pinch of salt yeah. these theories are created by people who aren't necessarily the best and brightest (especially if they are academics just trying to write a novel paper). permissive parenting sounds like a disaster, and i think u get to see a lot of the consequences of that with the millennial (esp in the west) who are products of it.
