Yeah, even Eldryon 48, 49 and 50 compared to 47 are not that huge % gains of bonus damage overall- but the amounts of legendary badges, money and XP needed for that are HUGE. If you want more characters viable at high level Guild Raids, stop at D2 and get your roster wide as possible at this level- I myself built teams for OG Nid bosses and various Primes (my job at the guild is killing certain primes with 1/2 tokens) and I've stopped at D2. Since GR bosses were D3 last season, I can safely reassure everyone that you CAN get good results with LVL 47 D2 characters even versus a Legendary 5 Raid Boss. They can survive, they can pierce, you do well- so if you guys want to have a wide and top tier roster, I'd stay at 47 D2 and diversify your teams as much as you can! I myself were surprised to find that my current team became amazing with Actus being added- a character that noone treated seriously for Guild Wars. He synergised with Eldryon, Helbrecht and.... Ork Warboss. Turns out, 8 bonus hits with healing on top of that is great! So yeah, diverse teams, different characters at D1/D2, don't push yourself to LVL 50 on 5 "meta" characters- each GR boss has different weaknesses and you just CAN'T get every best pick to 50. Staying at 44/47 allows you to not waste Guild Raid Tokens by having useless attack at high-tier GR bosses that your team does badly into.
books / badges / req orders need to be more accessible and game modes like onslaught and salvage tokens timer must be reduced and instead of having a certain amount of tracks they could be deferent difficultys for example (common->legendary) and you get to chose which to do freely also instead of getting a certain character shards from each game mode we could get some kind of currency that we can spend to get books / characters shards / badge /gold...etc
I would say one of the biggest changes that need to occur is the amount of XP you get from actually playing the game. There is very little benefit to actually playing the campaign fights after you 3* them and that is completely antithetical to the whole concept.

This game also need exp when we raid missons. Since exp is so hard to get not letting us gain exp when we raids is super lame. They can easily just have like slots we put characters in the misson we want exp then when we raid they gain exp.
@@DBPreacherTacticus oh yeah my would just be small boost cutting the exp half would for sure help all the new players and vets. Game just need a lot of quality of life changes. If they don't ppl will just keep leaving. Half of my guild all quit since I started. Most of them are veterans.
You are so spot on, the TA is now impossible to beat and frustating to grind, and I can't play the characters I like but the characters I must, to be able to get anything at all done
This is what I am not happy about, I love diversity and want to play around with lots of different characters but without a healthy and active balancing team, we won’t get that

Tbh Im not sure if 50 is worth it over 49. If you still have other characters to level with the legendary badges, Id stick with more 48s and 49s than forcing a 50.
Thank you for this great vidéo. Currently xp tomes are on the critical path. With D3 coming you will need far more energy to get to max level. So you need to have both energy and xp on the same level…
Hey, great vid! I remember Jayce started similiar topic and I agree 100%. For me personally I set up a goal to level everyone to gold 1 (skills respectively) and to call it a day. There's too much required to go further that that. I have a huge problem with the badges right now and started to notice problem with xp tomes (saved a lot, but it starts to dry out). And I still haven't mentioned orbs problem... I said it a lot of times and I'll say it once more - current orb reforging rate is robbery. Game's economy is awful and SP need to do something, or they will start losing players very soon. It's been 1.5 years already and with every month problem becomes bigger. If they keep the new character release rate - this whole system will collapse. Another possible solution is to remake the whole balancing system, but I believe it's just not possible anymore. About TA - yes, it became harder and I noticed it too. I tried to tell something to support, but they won't listen. "All the characters are brought down to the same rank so it's fair" my ass. 4-5 legendary characters team at uncommon rank is too much for me, sorry. Points system would make it much better, but again - they need to sit and reimagine the whole TA (luckily it's not that hard currently).
Yeah you and and I are on same paths… gold I for all chars is where I am aiming but I still wanted to have a few top chars to help the guild in raids but it’s super long to get their and if I stop to breath for a month then we drop back in the rankings! Very painful! I love your idea of points for TA, it would bring us a lot more in line with the tabletop experience too! That would be awesome.
@@DBPreacherTacticus only difference is that I'm not aiming very high in GR 😅 We are top 800 and feeling quite comfortable. Feel like competitive GR are too time consuming...
Great detail into the long game of upgrading past lvl35 xp. Also fantastic point about the tournament arena getting stale and favouring players with sho’syl, re’vas, Thaddeus, Celestine and Maugan etc. I haven’t been lucky enough to score any of those characters in 9 months of play, and it seems completely unbalanced and unfair. Also, the more new characters that arrive, the less likely I am to obtain shards for these crucial characters in req drops or battle pass rewards. It seems tau characters especially are almost impossible to reach without a fluke req drop.
Yeah there needs to be a change in the way players can get characters that aren’t available elsewhere or we are going to start losing players. Sorry to hear about your luck, let’s pray to the emperor for a good roll next time!
you are absolutely right, but u forgot to mention the gain of the last 3 levels of skills. its almost 30% of strengt hidden in the last 3-5 levels which forces u to commit into single character and hope they dont fall out of meta
Lvl 50 is just not worth it imo, and I certainly don’t expect to have anyone at lvl50 any time soon, much less to be able to upgrade a new character to 50 every month or two or three (except revas who gets all the free xp from arena and doesn’t need books). I’d much rather have 4 characters at 40 than 1 at 50 (or whatever the ratio is), and with the main team at 40 you’ll be just fine at a guild that is maybe 3 bosses behind, but also doesn’t require daily logins or discord or all the other bs that the top guilds surely do
I agree with your conclusion. I downloaded Tacticus so I could play Adeptus Sororitas, not knowing that’s not an option one can choose. I only have Vindicta and Roswitha. I fear if I ever do get any of the others (which I would love to have) I won’t even bother to upgrade them or level them up on account of how long it takes. Plus my resources to upgrade have been expended on meta characters I did not want to play
The only characters I have around lvl 40 are my arena team, as they get the constant stream of decent xp (decent compared to any other mode, not in general terms) for anything else, like building out legendary event squads (g1 rank seems to do just fine), i have upgrades lined up well in advance of the level to unlock the slot. and that includes using energy to farm 2 characters in parallel. doesn't take much to see that it's not just a bottleneck, but a general mismatch issue
We as players don’t ask for much but I think that when you get to level 10 in Onslaught, epic times should drop as standard as well as rare items. XP & scrap don’t come too easy in this game and simple changes like that would be a huge boost. Or simply a weekly code that gives us a free xp tome(s) I’d spend money on this game more often if the poor value packs had actual value.
Thanks for the work that has gone into this presentation. I am still newish here in game and have only been playing since November. I find that I am hitting walls at different areas within the game and at different points. Example to do well in the missions and further the campaigns you need the certain characters that have to be part of the mission to be up there. You then strive to make those characters good but come unstuck in tournaments or guild raids. As certain elements are needed from missions or characters to play the campaigns or help boost equipment. Don’t get me wrong I love the game and wouldn’t have stuck at it if I didn’t but sometimes the time I invest could end my marriage (lol). Great content as always and the time you spend. Yeah that’s definitely how I felt as I have been coming along, sometimes gold, sometimes orbs, sometimes badges, now xp! It’s like stumbling drunk in the dark with all these walls!

Xp books should be a supplement to levelling you characters not the main way. Using your characters should grant a lot more even on double xp day it's pointless even getting it. Should also add a game mode that awards a lot of xp that recharges like the others
This is good information. I was trying to figure this specific thing out myself as I am hitting that exp bottleneck while trying to take as many characters to Gold 1 as possible. This is slightly Off-topic to the vid, but this LRE I am going to be able to (just barely) get Aun'Shi specifically because I targeted my first Gold 1 characters based on your recommendation. I now own 9 Gold 1 characters, and even though I was slightly frustrated hopping from faction to faction at the time, I am glad I did because it means I'll succeed at this LRE in at least getting the character. My guild usually clears 12 bosses per cycle. I frequently see guilds recruiting, but most of them want rank 40+ accounts. I too have been using my guild points almost exclusively for exp tomes, and I have been trying to make up the difference by playing every stage I can (not raiding for drops). I'm not sure why leveling characters and abilities need to be locked behind a second time gate (exp) when they are already time-gated by the ranks and the rarity of legendary badges. Sorry for the wall 'o text, it just doesn't feel necessary at all since I'm looking at another 5-6 months (bringing me at 1 year of play time) to get even a single team to diamond rank and/or skill level 40-50.
Congrats on aun‘shi!! That’s a huge success and you are definitely on the path now for the other LRE‘s! And this is exactly what I am saying… locking us behind grinds is absolutely the game and even the 5 years or so to get everyone maxed is actually kinda ok to me but the length of time to get chars up to 50 is just too much atm
Since I only started playing like 4 months ago, I'm still trying to get my roster far enough to even unlock the characters during legendary events. And that feels pretty sluggish already. I don't like the thought of anything beyond that being so time consuming, that top guilds and players struggle with it... Game is still fun though, so glad I could help with the sheet and keep up the good work! 😊
I think the problem is more about XP rewarded for high level battle that should be increase by a lot and even more. Those XP tomes are fine because they shouldn't be the main XP source but some kind of bonuses.
I agree that the xp economy and character balance are major issues. I like that it takes time and effort because it feels like an achievement when you hit milestones, but at higher levels it's just too much. I would like to see more xp from battles, especially arena. Also I think the common to epic xp books could be adjusted to provide more xp. I mean, seriously, who cares about getting 20 xp from a common book?! Character balance is tricky but I'm glad that the recent reworks are starting to address it
Hey Preacher, great video!; I did the math a few months back and came to similar conclusion. In my opinion your suggestion for faster leveling (I mean XP, shards, orbs and badges) needs to go down even further, to allow players to pivot to new meta characters and at the same time build characters they really like. Also their should be a regular and free way to reset characters upgrades abilities, maybe keep levels permanent that could help to test new characters and builds without the dread of hopefully I am not wasting a month of ressources anmd then hate that one… I hope Snowprint will löisten to your suggestions and work on keeping the game fun in the long run. right now they are failing a fair bit
Aha! Good to know the data is corroborated (albeit with my guild raid mistake!!). Yeah I def agree, a bit more flexibility now the game has been out for a while is just going to help us get even more out of the game.

Im really surprised at the price points in General. I'm not an economist, and havent done the research so I dont have any facts, but my gut feeling is if things were significantly cheaper, more folk would spend. I know I've looked at character packs and thought I'd be tempted if they were half the cost. Its very easy to justify a 'its only the price of a coffee' spend, less so for things higher than that.
Yeah I’m not poor but I definitely feel the price points on some things are quite tough… but I guess they know their audience and have more data than us! I see marvel snap playing around with a lot of price points regularly though and tacticus doesn’t go that far
The new GR changes hit us brutally. My guild is in a consistent 40-45 placement, but we get way less rewards. And ofc we face the same problem as you do... we need to build the meta characters to keep up. So overall its just Eldryon, Ra, Aethana, Calgar, Noble, Aunshi, Revas, Bellator for the most part. Some of the stronger players include Abraxas and Neurothrope, Roswhita and Ragnar in the mix... But they are few. No variety wanted it seems. I even wrote a ticket and suggested a sandbox mode, so we can at least try out stuff, before we pump a ton of ressources into something. The answer: no. because if the players can try out things and maybe become better players, it would take away the challenge. Left me speecheless tbh.
That is certainly a mindblowing answer they gave! You definitely must have been pretty hard by the changes. I am hoping they make it up when guild wars appears
@@DBPreacherTacticus yeah. Forgot to mention it above. But the answer included, that sandbox mode is a very common request, especially since the dorn tank was introduced. I guess we just need to see what happens in the future. I also suggested (in another ticket), that we need more ways to get XP tomes from playing the game. Since we get less orbs now and they expect us to buy them in the guild shop, we need to share our credits between these ressources. But they seemingly forgot or were unaware of that most people exklusively bought XP tomes in the shop. And thats the true hard hitting thing here. This time the response was at least, that they think about it Anyway, its good to see a content creator pick up on those cicumstances. Thx a lot.
The exp book syndrome still does not solve unhealthy and boring meta in arena. Don’t understand why there are no prebuild teams for pvp in form of a strory. Would give a great opportunity for new players to test out chars and older players would still have challenge in strategy and synergy. The grind lvl was high before but now spending 2 weeks of grond to get 1 single char from G3 to D1 and maybe 44-45 lvl is a good way to start to loose players.
As a F2P player ive come to just be happy with "maxing" my characters at gold1 with 35 skills levels. Ill have no variety in my roster if i push past gold1
the game needs some idle element to it. like putting characters in a training cave and gather xp automatically. 12 years for leveling all this shit up is beyond insane.
Imho not only does Tacticus not have a catch-up mechanism but you actually fall behind. Eg as a new player in at 30/500 on aun'shi and 150/400 with Ragnar. No way to get them and running into 4/5 leg comps in "common" TA sucks. At least in the conquest mode people get kill hungry and it's possible to back door objective wins. I thought the escalating rarity with Rho was good.
Yes, there has been a huge fall behind the bigger guilds problem for quite some time and now, without any catch up mechanics, we are basically stuck unless we pay more than others!
£17k to get everyone levelled up?! That’s nearly as expensive as the physical models! I’m pleased with my level 50 D2 Angrax but can’t see me getting many others that high. It would really help if the repeating reward at the end of battle pass was legendary rather than epic tomes.
It used to be when the game was first out then they changed it to give epics! My first battlepass had legendary tomes. If only I knew back then what I know now!
Yes I remember, a happy time. I think the change to epic while introducing various extra levels of expense to the battle pass can be politely described as sub optimal.
how difficult it is to figure out the equipment... for example, some bloggers say that the higher the chance of blocking, the better, but on your top characters, for example archimatos, there is a block improvement with a 20% chance, the same as on revas, why is that? or why do you have a knife on your thadeus with a 20% crit chance, despite the fact that it has as many as 3 hits, instead of a bolter with a 35% crit chance, because if all 3 hits work for a crit, then it will give more damage, but that’s what all 3 hits will crit with a 20% chance, which is much less likely. Please, make a training video on equipment and why some characters need one thing and others need another, I really want to figure it out!!!!
Yeah I did a beginners guide already for this but it is on a basic level. The fact that you caught some of the differences in my choices means that you already have a pretty impressive grasp on it. There are some things to take into consideration: - sometimes it depends on what I am doing with my main equipment. For example, I don’t have enough legendary equipment for everyone so I just slam whatever into some characters. - sometimes I want to spike damage and am not looking for constant damage just because of how much fun it is when it hits. The % difference matters to people that really min max, but I am not a min max person when it comes to the game. My favourite mode is legendary events and not guild raids for example.

ye exp gain is sow bad in game. even if get some epic exp books that you need 5 to be same as legendary one. ben ending use common/uncommon and rare exp books make nu characters lvl 26 and then make some upgrades on them to bronze rank 1+ depending on how god the character is. and try hoard other ones a need for raids or legendary events. att moment a try fix some charakters to gold rank 2-3 to progres in legendary event. like aoushi a cant do 2 restrictions for them charakters not strong enof.
@@DBPreacherTacticus and makes sow can just go back if cant upgrade higher ranked characters if not enof exp and already farmed material for there next upgrade. and the more characters higher rank the more can be used in legendary events/3 day character quest to get many restrictions as possible with minimum tokens.
I've stopped trying in TA for now haha, the amount of tau and high end Eldar is a bit depressing. I completely agree with feeling weird about levelling the meta instead of characters you like, I'm literally caught between ascending calandis to epic(boo) or using the orbs on winged prime(woo!). The smarter choice seems to be Calandis but it's a sad one. Out of curiosity, you mentioned aeldari don't suit your play or aesthetic, which faction does?
You should just go winged prime instead! For me, I love the melee characters. Marneus calgar is easily my favourite character; especially when he goes spinning around. Jaeger is up there for his counter attacking. Boss gulgortz was one of my early characters I levelled up quite far. Arjac looks amazing and so he would be in the team. Then prolly finish off with Toth!
Im definitely keen to go for the prime! I'm a fan of the melee units too, Haarken is my only gold at the moment and he's the closest character i have to unlocking rogue trader. I really want to level Arjac! I just can't get the resources together to make him the beast i *think* he is, but Ulf is my current man of many matches! Yeah! Last night I just finished maxing out Ahriman to get his wings because I had tons of extra character shards on him. He is still at stone 1 level though 🫠

Top notch stuff should be hard obtainable. The harder it is to reach peak the more of a goal that becomes. If evrything is easy the game becomes garbage. I hope they keep hard to overcome bottlenecks.
Oh I completely agree, we need that. I would just like to see it be a little bit more reasonable. For example, 11+ years to get your skills to lvl 50 is prolly a bit much ^*
I been playing for two months and I'm already realizing how stagnant this game is and getting boring they need to add more ways to grind things daily. Within the mechanics of what it is.
It's not supposed to be balanced. It's not supposed to be fun. It's 'sposed to make people pay money to ease the grind, and it's 'sposed to get people addicted. It's a free mobile game.
@@john-paulsilke893 It really can't. The meta needs to keep shifting in order to keep whales paying the big bucks to keep up with it. In order for that to happen, the balance needs to change with it, keeping it inherently unbalanced.
@@john-paulsilke893 If it was balanced, any player could have a team of the characters they want and still be competitive, but then there's no reason for the whales to pay to level up characters they don't like just to keep on top of things. They could use any characters.
This is exactly, why I focused only to Celestine, that is now lvl50 Abilities 50/50… Diamond II … Aaand, everyone else in my roster are just barely up to Uncommon, Legendary Character Unlocks, are I am able to clear them up to level 12… Or, I barely get up to lvl 7 and at the most, in to 8. Cause I cant use my Celestine, in all those missions… I cant open fully any Legendaries, even I have played almost from the opening of this game. x.x PS. I did stop opening the Requisitions, looooong time ago and I am about to hit 200 of them. So, if some awesome character drops in to this game, I start to open them en masse.
Yeah I was building everyone to gold and then stopped to push Eldryon to diamond with lvl 50 skills and oh boy, that was a real eye opener!!!

@@DBPreacherTacticus My Eldryon is lvl47 40/45. When I was building up my Celestine and the Forge came available, I could turn a lot of saved Badges, up the ladder… Then I boosted my Celestine…. Only to find out now, my IMPERIAL ONSLAUGHTS are only repeatable, for XP ONLY o.0 And my rest, of all Imperials…. Had no badges to be upgraded at all… x.x But, at least, in Legendary Character Unlock Events, I rule, in all types of fights, in which I can use my Celestine and the rest, get stuck at the seventh mission. PS: Note: I have 8 times, wiped all my other characters weapons, armours, boosters etc… in to salvage, To get also my Celestine, in to 11/11/11 equipment… BUT, IN THE TOURNAMENT ARENA, SHE COULD NOT KILL EVEN GOLD I Epic RE’VAS(I check the guy later, cause there was limit to RARE, in that fight)and it took, from the guy, 10 TURNS, TO KILL MY CELESTINE(in 4 of those turns, she was also boosted by my remaining CALGAR(lvl48) 35/43, 7/9/4… but I had CALGAR LEFT, that did inflict 250 to 311 dmg on him, and he, inflict 55 - 80 to my Calgar… So I was winning the fight anyway? No. The game was force crashed in my turn and I was ripped off a WIN. = Celestine, having fully maxed GEAR *”Equals To”* nothing. Cause now I know…
