Sometimes, Marin is too hot. Central Marin houses weren’t built with AC in mind. Houses in Novato and the north parts of San Rafael usually have central AC. During heat waves, I escape to the East Bay(El Cerrito/Albany) for the weekend. Marin has good schools, grocery stores and brewpubs.
It definitely gets hot up there-luckily most homes, especially new builds, have AC. There are still some old homes without it but I’ve found most do. Always something to look out for tho! Thanks for watching :)
@@gardensofthegods I can run numbers on the general price difference between homes with and without that have sold. Generally speaking, for something like central air, the value of having that in the home in an area that would need air a large portion of the year, would be about the cost of installation/materials. But if you live in say Sausalito, where the weather is like SF and you need air 10 days out of the year, probably not as big of a consideration for a buyer. In contrast, if you’re in San Anselmo with no air, then you are going to have a problem a large portion of the year as it gets really warm there.
Move to Marin county? Lol! 99% of the country could not afford to move there. I live one county to North in Sonoma county. It almost as expensive and waaayyy hotter.... Good luck.
I’ve been looking into it as I’m moving to San Rafael… but not too many gyms from what I can see. Sure it has some but not many/any big box gyms like 24 hr fitness or planet fitness there. Not much with a sauna other than the ymca from what I saw. Am I missing something or are there any plans for something coming out that way?… cool video by the way, definitely like the pros and cans point of view. What day is farmers market?
Thanks! Gyms are few and far between-you’re not wrong. Most people I know who move there have joined bay club or evexia. But those are both southern Marin so likely too far away if you’re in San Rafael. I think there’s a fitness sf in San Rafael
Actually fuel tends to be 20 cents cheaper in Marin, the commuting isn’t really easy the ferry is amazing. Personally I think the main transport for “longer” distances should bet the SMART train brining people into the city and then uses buses to bring people to the smart line all from all around Marin
Haha! Land is super expensive and the construction financing for building is even more expensive than a normal loan. I feel the pain out there right now.
